Well, thats what they used to say at our school,I avoided wearing these colours together for a long time to avoid being classed as a lady of the night. Have worn red and black together since being a grown up and have not had any offers! (Maybe because I'm now just an old boiler!!)
Any more anecdotes to brighten up a boring Friday?
... and red and green should never be seen, except upon (can't remember rest - but Freddie Kruger didn't care!)
Also, another important rule, it's either tits or legs out, never both

When I was much, MUCH younger and visited a hairdresser (I had hair once!) I remember this lad who was a few years older than me and very much a 'face' on the local punk scene (this must've been late 70's, maybe as late as 1981 at a push) was getting his hair done and would not STOP talking at he sat in the chair. He was funny as fcuk but was just rabbiting ten to the dozen about all sorts.
When he'd finished and left the shop the barber turned to everyone and said, quite deadpan, "Too much Vitamin B in that lad".
And it's a phrase I still recount to this day.

Standard one when I was at school was that "skill" was a technical term for a particularly nasty 'bum disease'. I'm sure it isn't, but I refuse to google it to find out as I still grin like a demented 12-year-old whenever I hear a commentator say summat like "He's got great skill, that young lad". Or, even better, "silky skills".

The local version of this for me was red lipstick - not as good as yours.

And just last year....Somebody had to inform me that the Scissor Sisters didn't write Comfortably Numb and that it was in fact a Pink Floyd song. I'm immensely proud of that one. KILL ALL HIPPIES.

My god, that's bad! It reminds me - in my late teens I had knickers that fastened with side clips, I banged my hip on my boss's desk and the clip popped open, had to shuffle too!

What decade was that in? I'm only asking because in the 80s, the red/black combo became more associated with power dressing than anything. I've also heard it recommended recently as a good colour mix to wear if you want to feel more confident.

This will have been about the eighties, so as trends and fashions circulate, it will probably be arriving in Northern Ireland in a couple of years.

I seen examples of this in that London, red and black ,little ruffly dress/skirt things, standin on corners, trying to accost tourists.. even offering a deal for twenty quid involving CROWN JEWELS , some of the worst ones worked in a dungeon ...ran like a bastard, when they offerd me a special 2 for 1 deal... nosiree bob, that Tower of London aint for me, I knew it was lewd, but the teachers wouldn't listen....
