Fresh picked Sweet Corn is unmatched thou. Do they grow Sweet Corn in England? I don't think you get enough sun.

Sorry for my lack of explanation there. I do eat chicken occasionally, but that's it. So, I'm not a full blown vegetarian, just uh..."semi" if you will.

Thank you, Leather Girl for bringing up some of the veggies I forgot to mention. Love Daikon, moyashi (bean sprouts) and zucchini.
I'm a semi-vegetarian, also. I am reducing my red meat consumption, although I don't mind having a filet mignon once every few months. Chicken, fish, eel (unagi) beans, and tofu are my sources for protein.
I gave up red meat a couple of months ago, and have had chicken once since then. I suppose I would be classed a pescatorian now, as I still eat a lot of fish.

Bull's arse for steak tho you'd think, unless the waiter asked "How do you like your milk, sir?" then by all means request a cow with a thoroughly wiped arse, gloves and a stool to sit on,before you get tore in to it..
Medium, with a pink stripe running through it not too bloody, but a tiny bit of blood that soaks into yer chips and makes them taste necter.mm![]()

yes...medium rare is the way to go...
Just get aged steak...and try not to think that they've just been leaving it out to rot (hence the "aged"). Mmmm....rotting provides such lovely flavor and color.

"Give me the meanest steak ya got rare, and I mean rare, just dehorn it, wipe its butt and send it in."
That's William H Macy's line from Happy, Texas.
Thing about steak is it should be marbled with fat and then, when its cooked to your liking, you let it 'relax' under foil for 5 mins - nice and juicy that way!

Worst thing is the smell of them cooking! :barf:
Doctor? wrote: Stephen Hawking?

Hey, i have discovered (no doubt this is common knowledge to people with greener thumbs) that if buy your spinach and other things with the bulb in tact, you can cut off the leaves and eat them and plant the end and it will keep growing, even when planted with no roots. Now I have several spinach plants in pots in my yard. And a Chinese cabbage and fancy lettuces. The Chinese cabbage is rampant.
And my favourite vegetables are fennel and pumpkin and green beans and broccoli...I actually like almost all vegetables equally. I do not like over-cooked any vegetables. I have a hard time eating at my British relatives' places...
I got the tiniest baby truss tomatoes today, they smelled sunny and were bright red and very sweet and delicious. Salt flakes and olive oil. Hunk of sourdough.

So why do women tend to like vegetables more than men? Not that this is a scientific question, just something I've noticed over my years.

I will try that next time! It probably won't work for me, I have a habit of killing plants.

Here, here!
I don't get it when people say they are vegetarian "except I eat fish/chicken/steak if it is very tender". My swiss-frank (anyone remember NME circa 1990 article "Frank means crap"?) cousin is "vegetarian" then we went out for dinner and he took me to his favourite steak house in Geneva and said he eats there because the meat "ees very tendeur"
You either are vegetarian or you can say "I don't eat much meat". This is more a huff at him for staying with me for two weeks while I concocted all manner or ridiculous vegetarian but proteiny foods than a dig at you LG. ![]()
We have wagyu here!

Oh it will work! I kill everything! The Chinese cabbage just literally grows overnight. It is amazing. The spinach is sprouting new leaves slowly but they look great. The lettuces you can keep cutting the tops off for a while then the whole system collapses.
