You've never been to a pre-gig get-together. Big gangs of grinning lads all going to the toilet at the same time. I mean, they must be having sex together, right.

Er, right????

Ravi: I think most people are aware of my general dim view of breeding and the offspring it causes, but even WITHOUT the perfectly natural LPCF (Low-pass-Cuntishness-Filter) kicking in and preventing me from posting a rant or sleight on the subject of "too many monkeys".....even without that, I'd rather have a witty and intelligent chap like Monty raising the next generation of homo sapien sapiens (yes properly we're 2x sapient), than some fuckwit chav squirting them out for a council flat, or some veiled son-factory, or some unfortunate cunts in Africa having their 19th AIDS infected kid when they can't feed 5 on their income and assets, because some vile scumbag jesustard told them the sky fairy would burn them if they didn't.

You will find that Monty is a popular and respected gentleman round these parts, and for good reason. You will also find these posts of yours to have been a mistake.

You can't have (give birth to) Aids infected children, Steve. The same way you can't catch Aids. More ignorance on your part again, as in many of your posts I read. Aids is a term used to describe the latter stages of HIV ( Human Immunodeficiency Virus )where an immune system is considered so weak it is unable to fight off a range of diseases that it would normally cope with.

Congratulations Monty. Life will never be the same, in a more fulfilling and happy way!

Perhaps a warning to us all that very personal things are best shared via different means in the future between friends, e.g email, and not on a public forum that anyone in the world can access. Not a criticism, just a thought.

'pologies, Hair successfully split, yes, Jesus wants his brown babies with HIV, not AIDS.

Can't complain, I've corrected people for less.

For less? Let's get one thing really crystal here, my love. I'm not correcting you for pure pettiness, I'm correcting you because working with young people and families (of all ethnicity) affected by HIV and Aids is what I do, and what I have been involved in since 2005, voluntarily.

And there's a major, significant difference in the 'information' that you are casually ranting about on these posts. It's such ignorance (and you're way off key in your statements) that continue to lead the prejudice when it comes to the understanding of HIV and Aids and those that live with it, and have it.

She's so right! There really are 24 Hours in a day..

If it were a numbers game, people 'have' AIDS when their CD4 immune cell count has dropped below 200 per ml because HIV destroyed all the rest. That's the level at which their body can no longer fight infection and win. And, funnily enough, 75% of babies born to HIV positive mothers are naturally HIV negative, that figure rising where there is good nutrition and/or antiretroviral treatment in place. In your First World there are more and more people who are HIV positive, elsewhere deaths from AIDS exceeds new HIV infections. It's not a numbers game though and informing, care and support are king.

Congratulations Monty, and apologies for hijacking your thread. Intesresting points made by Bonzette though. Have you read "AIDS And It's Metaphor's' by Susan Sontag? Read it years ago when I was at Yooni. Fascinating book for a sociological slant on AIDS and disease in general.

Sorry Monts :-)

Not read or heard of this book, but thanks for the information because I'll track it down tomorrow and get back to you with my thoughts.

1/4 of my degree is based on Sociology in relation to Nursing, and on said subject, the lead lecturer's 'specialism' is sexuality and sexual disease. I could listen to his lectures all day long. It's fascinating how entwined Nursing and sociology really are (especially in Mental Health). I have to a do a location project based on the the local community and health, so HIV and AIDs will be my focus.

See you on the 4th! :thumb:

I had been wondering if there had been some major sea change in jesustard doctrine since last I checked, after all, why else would you be telling me they aren't going round Africa making it oh so much worse.

But Looky here, from this very morning....

Still talking crap, still ruining lives.

(last time I checked, I'm reasonably sure I myself am largely only guilty of the former)

Where have I made any reference to religion, or told you that religion, in particular Catholic, has not played a significant part in HIV and Aids? (I was actually making reference to your comments on Aids and the difference between HIV and Aids)

Although a key player, religion is only part of a range of issues and problems that all need tackling if we are to reduce the epidemic in Africa. Education is the main problem, where HIV and Aids are concerened, as well as Famine, Poverty, Cultural, a lack of structure and community in many countries, and more importantly, a serious lack of healthcare professionals in large parts of Africa where families, individuals and communities are unable to access treatment, support or education of any kind.

On top of that you have comments being made, as the ones in the article you have posted, that continue to strike fear into those that believe in the Catolic religion (not just Afica, worldwide)that hinder the hard work and progress that is being made at ground level. But if we are to really make a dent and reduce the number of people infected by HIV Aids, particually in Africa, then there needs a to be a better understanding of the other significant key factors that contribute to the rise in these diseases. EDUCATION.

Countries such as the UK, have had a significant decline in HIV/ Aids education, and figures continue to rise of those now becoming infected with the virus.
