well, mine then... almanso is the name of my band, as you may already know. but where did the almanso came from in the first place? well, we decided to use it around 95. many names were there (vitraux, lysis, fruit of wearisomness, etc.). then I remembered a character on a quite famous michael landon´s tv show called "little house on the prairie", the story of laura ingalls wilder. laura´s husband was Almanzo Wilder. so we used almanso because we didn´t know it was with z instead of s. when we realized that it was too late to change it so we decided to keep it that way.
I was oblivious to forum nicknames but then, when I bought 511, I just couldn't stop laughing at Steve's absurd T-shirt: an egg saying "I am oueuf"! So I've decided to use the equally absurd nickname "Je suis EGG", changing the french and english from the original and, in the same step, pay hommage to Everything's gone green: not my favorite Neworder tune, but the first sign of their trade mark sound! When the Gulf War Mark II began, I've then decided to use a nickname that would reflect my views on the subject: hence the "Everything's gone bizarre" monicker. Then, yesterday, and remembering the "Life's a beach" T-shirt that Hooky wore in the 80's, I've decided to give myself a brand new personality, still echoing Dubbia's antics...
I was just plain old mh (my initials in lowercase, which I like) but there was an mmh (who I believe was mostly famous for having recorded, pressed and released a forum posting in 1 day) so to avoid confusion I changed it to Majestic Head Swings which I got from the product literature that came with my remote control asian elephant.
My name is taken from Love less ("keeper of the major key") with a bit added cos i look like tarantino (if you squint and its dark).

A substance not (yet) discovered on Earth that is used in the propulsion systems of extra-terrestrial craft, and should appear as number 115 on the periodic table.
Basically produces gravity of the kind used to hold atoms together as opposed to the variety that holds us down or keeps planets in orbit. Allows the craft to bend and fold the space/time continuum and allows travel in a non-linear way, bending space around the ship instead of this ship travelling to a particular point.
No link to NO as such unless you want to see it as a "SUBSTANCE" that is Out Of This World. (Just occurred to me as I typed this!). Just had another thought: 115 is 511 backwards!
I've been told on occasion that I'm a little strange. I've yet to figure out why.

My former nickname, Substantial Republic of LowLifes was because I didn't want my real name being shown everytime I posted, so I just looked at the 3 closest CDs to me....No points for guessing which ones, though the first 5 guesses are free. I just found it to be too clunky and not memorable (I bet my new one is as well 
)
Hence, even less creatively, I abbreviated (a couple of NOOLers dubbed me that I recall), and I added something that sounds high class, Greater Rochester (it's actually Lesser, in more ways than one) ;)

Yes please. Internet stalking is still happening out there, and I've put my name into a search engine more than once and found posts of mine that were intended for this community alone and not for a world-wide audience that is not members of this forum.
mine is my little variation on the name of a very early and rather amazing electronic musical instrument, Thaddeus Cahill's Telharmonium
my last name is stevens and on a notorious car ride a couple of years ago 'no scrubs' by tlc came on the radio and my friend jeff tweaked the lyrics to say 'no i dont want no scrubbins, because scrubbins is a guy who gets no lubbins from me' and to my close friends i became 'bill scrubbins.'
we be scrubbins is just a little tweaking of 'we be clubbin' by ice cube. i'm so witty sometimes it blows my mind..
Mine is taken from a song title by a now defunct band called Prolapse.
I went under two Aphex Twin monikers a year or so ago when I first posted here but they were completely unpronounceable anyway, so I changed it to back to my real name Karl Gregory then got bored and decided to pop back in with a nickname only cos everyone else and their dog was doing likewise. Simple really.

Sad that they split up a couple of years ago. Methinks they were always at each others throats. You can even sense the friction when they used to play live. Great underrated band, I have to say. Sound absolutely nothing like New Order, mind.
mine is a long story, but here goes:
it was my friend's 21st birthday and we were at a bar in greenwich village. she and i went to the ATM machine to restock, but she was so pissed from filling up on free shots of goldschlager from everyone in the bar that she didn't think she was going to make it to our destination. to stop her from passing out in the middle of bleecker street, i told her to imagine our walk as an important quest, and us as secret agents--if we don't make it to the ATM and back, our mission will fail. so we talked into our watches, giving each other support during our foray into the outdoors. we continued this farce in the bar where our friends picked it up, we started referring to each other as 'agent' whatever-our-last-name-was and we even bestowed the 'agent' moniker unto our cab driver that evening, as our birthday girl pleaded with him to not make any sudden stops whilst she lay across our laps, head out the window, trying not to vomit as we sped up broadway. 'agent selena, no sudden stops! no sudden stops!'
anyway, it's now more than seven years later and we are still the special agents. and i am agent wood.

These girls in my film class were doing a directors project on David Lynch, and they weren't even going to mention Twin Peaks. So, to save myself from insanity, I lent them the pilot, most of the second season, and the Fire Walk With Me feature film. Then my teacher wanted to borrow some of it, and she hasn't given it back yet.

man, i remember when the first season was out, i was obsessed with it. my friends and i were flipping through the channels and just happened to come across the pilot episode. i watched all the episodes, then the repeats that summer, and then watched them again since i had recorded them. then they changed the night for the second season so it wasn't as easy for me to watch, and it lost something, as well. i didn't watch as many of them that season, and i was really disappointed with the film. that first season, though...it was really something. ahh, memories.

Ask 'em if they were going to mention his other TV series, On The Air, which lasted just 3 episodes on ABC.

well, i think we can all guess where the "586" portion of my name came from (it's been my favorite New Order song for 5 years), but the "film" piece is due to my love of the word - it's actually one of my favorites in the English language. i love the idea of a thin, translucent layer of substance, a film. i like films too, but it's the other meaning that really strikes a chord with me.
but i think the thing that inspired it is the Skinny Puppy song "Film." it's one of their short, instrumental tracks that's so incredibly mind-blowing and peaceful. it's truly beautiful, and it's one of my favorite songs.
and the combination of the the two components is just neat for me...because 586 is such an enigmatic song/concept for me, and the idea of film (as well as the aforementioned song) is really mysterious to me as well, for some reason. so it just seems like a really interesting concept for me, adding film to 586.
plus, it's a play on words, because "film" is synonymous with "video;" Video 5 8 6.
so that's my nickname! film586!

I is called what I is called due to a thread on here in the dim, distant past. It had something to do with It's Gary Shandlings Show and the applauding of obscure guests who are about as famous as Claire Sweeney.
