Okay Hibsty, it is time to release your understanding of the film 'Momentary'.

Ladies and Gentlemales, are we all sitting quite comfortably ...

Hucklebuck, how does one qualify as one of your 'guests', in order to contribute to this celluloid retrospective?

I do have a voluminous DVD collection, if that counts as a pre-requisite.

Plus, one of my sister's boyfriend's mates was an extra in The Phantom Menace - one of the Naboo royal guard, no less. I'm practically five jumps from Kevin Bacon myself, as the theory goes.

I'd say that buys you a couple of posts. Although I wouldn't be too eager to banter too using The Frumpy Menace monocle. For this film stank us all out of house and home.

What I would like from any of my guests is a detail of a movie not widely known, a film of sheer intrigue and beauty that it could boil towels.

Enough already.

There's this little known film, "Warriors of Atlantis" (or something... titles, who cares, huh?). Synopsis: Early 20th century guys arrive at the lost city of Atlantis and have lots of fights. Not much of a plot, I know, but what is great for you Huntsy is the Harryhausen-style monsters that appear throughout the movie... all of them stock-footage nicked from other productions! If you get to see it, notice also the sets: apparently, the film was shot in no more than two deserted corridors built by clearly not-very-good draftsmen... All in all, a great 90 minutes!

... that film's not 'Warlords of Atlantis' is it Super-George? - if so, I went to the pictures to see it and it was fab. Monsters scaling the walls of Atlantis one of the highlights, alongside a swamp creature.

I like where your coming from G, any more under your hat?

Did we ever resolve that film which had that stone hawk bird coming to life in the last 20 mins.? - the black and whitey from the 60's?

I'm gonna print that out to take with me next time I venture to Blockbusters.

You'll be lucky Hankoid, the last time Blotty Booty had a film over 2 years old they were shut down for trading with a soul.

George needs to speak out with a specific title then we can all track it down using the interpipe. Which, obviously, has many souls ... some of them very lost.

I humbly bow before your superior knowledge, sir! As for the b&w, you have a good memory. If mine serves me well, we didn't solve the mistery...

holy moly i can't even remember what i've just eaten let alone sammy the janitor.

i'd need to see the film again to refresh my page.

i do recall someone from neighbours running around with a tattoo on 'his ass, and then some broad from a movie i ain't seen in a while, then there was some fruit thrown at the stage and in the end i think the car span out of control and some of the dashboard was cracked.

did you know what they were going to call remembo? - they were going to call it m&m's but evidently they couldn't get the boss of m&m's to comply. mind, they only gave him 20 seconds.

hhhheeeeeyyyy, do you know a really really good film ... the legend of soggy creek (think that was the name). anyway it was about big feet.

Hucklebuck, you requested cinema of the obscure...

Recently I found myself vacantly flicking through the sale rack at a major video chain, when I stumbled across a rare treasure.

Captivated by the striking ninja imagery on the cover, I flipped the tape over to read the following blurb. All text is exactly as printed -- I believe some of the narrative nuance was lost in the translation:

In later Ming Dynasty, the Japs often loot, plunder and massacre in China's coastal provinces and the people cannot live in peace.CHIEH Chi-kuang, the famous general who masters military tacties and strategy is ordered to sweep the dwarf pirates from the coastal area. After repeatedly victories, he forces the Japs to retreat to their homeland, Japan. The Japanese Defense Minister, Toda, learns that CHIEH Chi-kuang has a book entitled "Summary of Fighting Skills" stating various tacties and tactical deployments and intends to seize it. He sends his men, several endurers, to steal into China to rob the book. The endurers who can use sorcery and become invisible are really hard to guard against. CHIEH Ying-min to invite the old man San Cheuh who has lived in Japan and masters the skill of endurance, a kind of Chinese Kung Fu. It is a good policy to repay evil with evil.San Cheuh knows general CHIEH's loyalty to the country and people and feels pride to serve for the general. But he is so old that the fear he would ruin CHIEH's plan. So he sends his discioles MIAO Jen-lung, TUNG Chiang and CHOU Yu to help CHIEH. The three with special feats disguise themselves as persons of different career and start a series of farious and interesting death fightings. With the failure of his men to rob the book, Toda personally kidnaps CHIEH Ying-min for a ransom of the book. CHIEH Chi-kuang values the book higher than his son and refuses Toda's demand. MIAO, TUNG and CHOU can not keep hands off. They fight against Toda and his men at an old tomb. The earth shaking fightings end with defeat and death of Toda. A glorious page is added to the history of CHIEH's fights against the Japs.

If anyone can reveal the title of this masterpiece -- or indeed if someone can suggest a title brimming with hilarity -- I shall bestow massive respect upon thee.

12 Angry Men is brilliant.

I'll take Tremors starring Kevin Bacon. Scary and funny with just a wee bit if gross out stuff.

DC - superb!

Surely, after reading the seemingly unbelievable volume of diatribe on the reverse of the hybrid, mock-Ninja/Asian kick 'ass effort, the actual viewing of the movie is perfunctory!

What about the title (from your own, discovered words); 'The Japs Often Loot'? - simple, yes, but effective.

The sequels could almost write themselves.

i watched 8 mile last night. good film. my best friend, who hails originally from detroit, described it as 'a 24 hour party people for detroit.'

aah, detroit. 70% illiteracy, 2/3 of all children born out of wedlock, 10,000 abandoned buildings, a million people and no first-run movie theatre, bullet-proof glass at the mc donald's.... the american dream in a nutshell.

AgentWood you little pop culture princess.

Magnificent work, what was your modus operandi? Or have you actually viewed this martial arts schlockfest yourself?

If you had just left the "the" out of the title, I would have sent the prize -- a used and somewhat aromatic pair of Huntsman's snakeskin karate slippers, size 14.5.

Movie title: NINJA IN DEADLY TRAP

I'll have to clear it with Hucklebuck, I understand they haven't actually been worn for inflicting violence for a few years now. Apparently he now only slips into them to welcome guests to Huntsman Manor, before offering them the customary tube of crisps, bottle of Schnapple and map of the grounds.

Owning Hard Boiled on DVD I can confirm that the BC is way, way up there. Not sure about the most ever -- how are such tolls calculated? Surely a disaster film, say the Sum of All Fears for example, which depicts a nuclear explosion in Baltimore, has a BC in the tens or hundreds of thousands.

:\pimp3:

bc is a way cooler way of describing it, not sure that that would count, thought bc was only rilly used when you saw the actual "rubbing out" of the person rather & could actually count it.

isn't it done by the daily mail in conjunction with their counting the swear words?

Settlers, I have viewed Donnie 'The Daniel' Darkwind, and can confirm 'it's up there with Memento and others'. A modern classic full of surprises, hope, and many fears.

I digged the metal rabbit, but then again I am biast waiting 20 years for a 'scary rabbit' to re-appear after the classic 'The Twiglet Zone' movie (remember the scene with the rabbit popping out of the television?).

Needless to say I wouldn't want to spoil the films content and a mere snippit would ruin the gig - best suggestion is to hire it and sit back with a few tubes and a little bottle of pop.

1 Hour Photography, on the other hand, is dog dirty. A turd well polished is my synopsis. Nothing happens, then it ends. Great surround sound though, which was a slight bonus.

Incidentally, DC, there are 2 known maps of the Huntsman grounds - one has the treasure on it.

:hat:

... and surely the 'bc' record must be held with a film where the earth explodes? - examples of which I cannot produce having the memory of a salmon.

Wans't there a film where a few capsules where put onto a space craft and sent out to deepest space in search of a similar world where air, running water and inside toilets were commenplace?
