Thought I had the pic of Gary gazing lovingly at Bernard, Alex ;)
But got to thank Alex for VIP entry and press area gatecrashing.
First watched Bernard and Phil doing live TV interview, then all band doing press conference. We seemed to get away with acting as press, the band knew who we were obviously, but looked to us to laugh when their humour went outside English understanding. As they were leaving Hooky gave me a kiss as usual! before being whisked away then we shook hands with Bernard and I collared him for photos (enjoyed putting my arm around his waist 
), we all pestered him for EGG which obviously paid off!
Got great pics of me and Gary with Bernard and Greg and Don with him. Also got large number of the band from press conference; but alas none of gig, bouncers went mad if they saw a camera pop up in crowd.
Gig was excellent - a near perfect performance, good to end the summer with, and EGG and the Vikings mention was the icing on the cake :D

I'm assuming this is an in-joke referring to the oh-yes-it-is-oh-no-it-isn't Wolves warm-up that never quite happened. But if people do know something I don't please spill the beans. Gutted I never went to France....
Actually i did see Happy Mondays at Wolves Civic hall October 92.What a mess they were.Twas the end as we knew it.
And i also ended up there New Years Eve... ermmm.. the other year.Dancing off me face to Pounding by Doves is all i recall

Well 13 of us made the trip from the UK [that I know of] and we also met Mario from Holland down the front.
Great weekend. Barney got a bit of "encouragement" to play EGG at a press conference which got ambushed by some Vikings and he played it ! Top man

EGG was not on the set list I got from Andy Liddle so defo a late decision to include.
Wolves Civic Hall is a piss-take..not happening, so don't panic.
After Fuji, their plan is to take a break, promote Sirens and the DVD, then finish off the next album which they've already got some tracks for. No more gigs for a while but that won't stop us dreaming about something around xmas time.
Guys, Looks like Les Vieilles Charrues was a great gig! I am desperatly looking for an audio record of it. Can someone help??? Thanks.
Seeing that Big Clive was there, it will surface eventually, one day... if he didn't forget to start the recorder while too drunk ;)

It sounds rather good. Full write-up on an excellent weekend (best gig I have seen them do since 1986) tomorrow when I get the chance.

got home late last night after a 12 hour drive, but it's been worth every mile/kilometer!
it was great to finally meet up with all of you guys!Big to Don,Gary,Tim,Johnny,Ness and the rest whose names are a little lost. And Al, thanks so much for the Viking-pin, it's stuck on my hat now, being worn with pride

Well I couldn't be bothered drinking out of the 2 litre cider bottle, so I figured the measuring jug would not only be a useful sized container, it would also allow me to moderate what I drank and not get totally bevvied, unlike some

Flights were probably dearest I've had to fork out so far this summer cos destination was fairly remote. Flew out of Southampton cos Gary and Gordie are Pompey lads and were flying out of there, then hiring a car. Me and the Mrs trained down with Don, from London. Train worked out around 50 notes, flights there and back (we flew to Rennes, back from Brest) were maybe 120-140, not sure, which, like I said, is the most I've paid for flights anywhere this summer. Rented a Gites for a week (although we were only there 4 days, but you had to take a week's booking) for 750 notes (between 11 of us). Motor cost best part of 300 notes, between 5 of us, and then the concert tickets were a paltry 28 euros or something, but we didn't use them in the end cos ATR got 13 of us guest-listed. Gites was so remote we didn't even go out two nights so just holed up and guzzled lots of Kronenbourg! It was nigh on 2hrs walk to get into Carhaix, with nothing in between!
