Amendments to NOOL Gigography

This is an archived legacy thread. Replies are closed, but the discussion is preserved.

I have started last night to check the errors in our gigography here on NOOL (thanks to Sam & Tim for that), checking out Sam's update and fixing things.

So far, 1980-1981-1982 are done... for some funny reason, Procession was removed from all concerts in there.. funny thing!

The initial data entry was done by Sebastien for all those, but it's now getting corrected as Sam & Tim seems to be checking out all their bootlegs and doing corrections to Water Rat's original gigography.

If you see anything wrong, for the completed years, please do so by posting a message here.

Once this will be complete (beside the gigs without any set list), we'll have a pretty decent statistics system for this.

And oh, there are some gigs that were removed but that did however go on, I had confirmation from Andy Robinson that they did play in Puerto Rico and Montreal in 1989, although Jonathan Scott said they were cancelled...

Are you going to include the picture of the Rio de Janeiro setlist this time? I can send it to you for the third time, if necessary.

Ok, 1983 is now on.

I had this one listed:

11 Jan, 1981 New Order uk Middlesborough, England Rock Garden

Seems it's no longer listed anywhere... ?

And well, my home town:

05 JUL 83 The Spectrum - Montreal, Canada

Is it actually true that they played Blue Monday TWICE at that gig? :confused2: That is listed here and on Sam's site..

Apparently no recording, so impossible to verify...

Yes they did play it twice, the shortened version and the full version. I sent you a recording of this about two years ago. Will happily send another if you require - or put in the usual place!

Middlesbrough also happened, not sure it was ever taped though.

I don't remember BM on it twice though, I have listened several times to the recording, except 2 years ago I changed my car and since then I have no tape device anywhere... so I can't listen to it anymore :(

I will convert the tape to MP3 and upload it this afternoon. BM was definitely on it twice.

I just noticed that the setlist in the website doesn't match with the real one. The actual tracks 7 and 8 must be "Mr. Disco" and "Vanishing Point", not "Vanishing Point" and "Dream Attack". I guess the music journalist who wrote the Brazilian setlists in the magazine made some confusion with the new (at the time) tracks.

Oh, and "Touched By The Hand Of God" was played in the encore as well.

I'm monitoring this thread, so any inconsistencies that you see I should be able to reconcile.

Last year, I did a detailed comparison between the NOOL list/Waterrat's/WIM's/mine/History In Cuttings...and posted it here...the threads may still be there, but too bad search is still broken

Funny, looks like my "song live history" page... the matrix is interesting but tough to read.

As you can see, my own search engine (called Microsoft Query Analyzer) works, so I can dig what you want ;)

Thanks, forgot about those... but I guess you did update your site in consequence?

I'm pretty sure I did, especially for the 20th century gigs...but if somebody could double-check and let me know in case I missed anything.

One unfortunate thing about resuscitating the old links is seeing again some of the old WIM vs NOOL acrimony...hopefully that should be well behind us now!

the 1983 show at st. andrews university is listed as being in stirling. st. andrews is in, well, st. andrews!:D

Okay, noted, but I'll keep the "Stirling" reference until I understand how it got in there...anybody have a flyer or ticket for this gig that we can check against?

Wasn't it Pathfoot Hall at Stirling University in 1983?

WIM has it listed at stirling university, which would make the city correct.

AgentWood wrote: WIM has it listed at stirling university, which would make the city correct.

The bootleg tape I received three days after the gig also said Stirling University (Pathfoot Hall), no mention of St.Andrews (or indeed anywhere else in Fife).

I have a mp3 of Getting away with it live from NY 1990 and it sounds like a concert performance, and even in the mp3 tag it says track 12, which sounds kinda right for when the song would be played in the concert.

Does anybody know any info about thsi concert?

Also the track listing for the Aug 4 1990 is the same as the Aug 5 concert:

Gangster, Try All You Want, Reality, Get The Message, The Patience of a Saint, Getting Away With It, Idiot Country, Tighten Up, Soviet

All right, "Pathfoot Hall - Stirling University - Stirling, Scotland" it is. Maybe this got crossed up with the '81 venue/location, which I have down as "St. Andrews University - Fife, Scotland".

An amendment on Gigography:

The place where the band played in Barcelona last june was NOT "Poble Espanyol" – it was "Primavera Sound Festival" and the location is called "Fòrum". That festival was held until 2004 at Poble Espanyol, but then moved to the Fòrum in 2005.

I got 2 mails recently about changes in the gigography:

Hi Nicolas, just a quick correction for ZURICH, Switzerland 2nd April 84' set list. Been playing that gig today and noticed TRACK 6:DENIAL should be after TRK (5) ICB. Then it's Procession, Age of, Temptaion, Confusion.. SAD I KNOW!!!

and

Hi

I think your track listing for the following New Order gig is incorrect

Date

Sunday Aug 05, 2001

City

Los Angeles, California, United States of America

Venue

Glen Helen Blockbuster Pavilion

It should be as follows (also see web link below)

  1. Atmosphere
  2. Regret
  3. Crystal
  4. Love Will Tear Us Apart
  5. Your Silent Face
  6. Turn My Way
  7. Bizarre Love Triangle
  8. Touched By The Hand Of God
  9. True Faith
  10. Temptation
  11. 60 Miles An Hour
  12. Blue Monday

Thanks

I didn't have time to check yet, but anybody agrees with those changes?

I noticed in the dicography that there is no tracklisting for the gig at the Red Parrot, Perth, Australia on 21st February 1987, but i know at least the last four tracks played (that's because you can download them at new-order.net. They are:

Blue Monday In A lonely Place Elegia Sister Ray

Stuffed if i know what the other tracks are, so i guess i'm just wasting your time Sputnick. Oh well...

Oh great, the link isn't working, even though it was a minute ago, that's just brilliant. :nonono:

Apparently the taper failed to press record on the first side of the tape, so we only got the recording from when he flipped the tape! Interestingly, IALP features a lot of sounds from Sputnik. We've no idea on the first 9 tracks played.

Can anyone imagine an encore featuring Elegia? Surprised anyone was left there for Sister Ray!

So some poor poor bugger pressed just the PLAY button for the first 9 songs. He must have been spewing (i mean dissapointed) when he got home and played his tape and heard..... nothing, ha! I really love the way Blue Monday segues into In A Lonely Place, classic stuff.

Yes, I concur. In fact, the tracklist page I maintain was missing Denial between ICB and Procession, but it was mentioned in the gigography detail listing for that entry. (this has now been fixed)

And the Devore listing given out by the user (also on db.etree.org) matches up with what I have.

Don't see why it would - it was the Bunnymen's encore, which saw Barney only join them on stage.

Ah, I've amended my page appropriately, to make it clear this was Bernard making an apparance, and not a part of NO's set.

Not sure if this is the right place for this

Going through my collection I have two copies of the Wellington 82 gig, one procured from DAD, the other from the weeding forum. Both were labeled as the gig on the 6 Dec, but the set list bears no resemblence to what is on waterrat's gigography, instead matching the gig 2 days later in Christchurch. Not sure why both copies I have were mislabeled. Was the gig on the 6th taped?

There's been quite a bit of confusion regarding these dates, or in fact if the 12/06 date was in Christchurch at all, as I've heard both dates were Wellington...but what Spotnick has on the live browser matches what I have, and to the best of my knowledge should be correct.

Here's the setlist for that date (the 8th is the one you mentioned)...I think there's an audience version of it (not great quality from what I heard) but I haven't heard it yet:

setlist:

ICB, Everything's Gone Green, Chosen Time, Procession, We All Stand, Ultraviolence, Senses, Ceremony, The Village, 586

No way should that count as New Order playing NDF. It wasn't their set, but was some of them guesting at the Chilis set.

This is the kind of attention to detail I was hoping to see...I think the confusion is that there's a St. George's in Bradford as opposed to the King George's in Blackburn. Fixing my listing now.

think i might have mentioned this before, but:

the july 14, 1993 show at the meadowlands in new jersey is prefaced by question marks. the august 4, 1993 show is written as brendan byrne arena, east rutherford, new jersey. they are the same thing.

the brendan byrne arena was the arena (i don't think it's there anymore) at the meadowlands complex in east rutherford, new jersey, which also includes the stadium where the NY jets play.

so both shows should read: brendan byrne arena, meadowlands, east rutherford, new jersey.

Tim, the Chillis had nothing to do with the Area : One Tour. I think you might be confusing this with a guest appearance on NDF by John Frusciante. NDF was part of Moby's set - JF, Billy Corgan and New Order joined in for this one track. Gillian and Kim Gilbert [Thick Pidgeon] were also on stage.

Clearly this doesn't represent another gig, but it is definitely a live performance, the whole band were on stage, playing one of their own songs, albeit with Moby on vocals.

I would suggest reference to this performance should be added as a footnote to the set list of the LA gig.

Hi,

Could I suggest a couple of minor corrections to the gigography?

The Futurama Four gig of Sept 11 1982 was at Deeside Leisure Centre in North Wales, not Scotland. And it was bloody cold sitting down on a covered ice-rink waiting for NO!

And the venue for the May 7 1981 gig should just be Tabernacle. I've never known this place as Talbot Tabernacle, especially as it's located in Powis Square rather than Talbot Road.

Nevertheless, this is a fantastic gig list and it's great to be reminded of the set lists from so long ago. It's much appreciated.

My version should have had this corrected already. Spotnik will get around to it, he's been slowly syncing up to what's here

When will the Aug. 5, 1985 concert at the Akron Agora in Akron, Ohio at least be listed as having occured?

I can send you the rider for the gig and a setlist with at least 8 of the 10 songs.

There are reviews from Alternative Press from that year that I'm sure publisher Mike Shea would dig up as well.

The reason Akron isn't listed on NOOL's gigography is that it's based on the Waterrat gigography, which hasn't been updated in years. As far as we know, no audience recordings exist of this concert, and the listing was first assembled from a bunch of tapes that a Norwegian collector (Oyvind Franck?) had in his possession.

My mirror is here, and is updated with current information. http://www.new-order.net/no/gigs

Here's what I list:

Blue Monday, Dreams Never End, Everything's Gone Green, Lonesome Tonight, As It Is When It Was, Subculture, (unknown), Face Up, Sunrise, In A Lonely Place

I think (unknown) is most likely Weirdo, since that was the other song they were playing at the time (AIIWIW being the other) which hadn't been yet released...the setlist you mention listing 8 of the 10 songs would perfectly align with the main set, assuming that Sunrise and IALP were the encore tracks. Would love to see this info including the AP clippings to corroborate!

There was no encore. Each US tour they have done, they have decided on a basic set length. The 85 sets were all ten songs plus an encore if they felt like it, the 86 sets were all eleven songs plus an encore if they felt like it. The ten at Akron were the ten in the set. Chances are they didn't always use the now accepted names for the new ones, hence the only knowing 8 out of 10 titles.

Yeah, you're right. I was a bit confused by the reference to the setlist listing 8 out of 10 songs...and assumed this was a copy of the band setlist rather than just being what an attendee may have noticed...in which case, makes perfect sense since 2 of the songs had not been released.

Oh, OldMonkey, please check your email...

Does anyone know if New Order have done a gig at Canterbury Court, Perth, Australia on 15 May 1985? It's not mentioned in any gig listings I've seen.

Here's a pic of the concert poster.

They did play Canterbury Court in 87 but this poster must be from the 85 tour since it states 15 May. It also has the same artwork as a poster from the Selinas Hotel, Sydney gig on the 18th. I've always thought Melbourne 17 May was the first gig on this tour so could this be a gig that got cancelled?

I guess we need an "FAO Spotnick" as this still hasn't been added to the NOOL gig listings.

Ceremony

You'd smile and salute me If I told a different story All the sinful wheels are turning Turning in and turn towards this time All she asks is when to hold me They gain the same old story We traveled oh, so quickly Travel first to me, towards this time Oh, I'll bring them down, no mercy shown Heaven knows it's got to be this time What she'd heard, these things she said The time she cried and failed to wait this time

Oh, I'll bring them down, no mercy shown Heaven knows it's got to be this time Avenues, all lined with trees Picture me and then you start watching Watching forever Forever - watching love grow Forever - letting me know Forever
Everything's Gone Green

Help me, somebody help me I wonder where I am I see my future before me I'll hurt you when I can It seems like I've been here before
Confusion Sprung Up From Devotion

A halo that covers my eyes It sprung from this first estrangement No one have I ever despised Is this the way that you wanted to pay Won't you show me, please show me the way Is this the way that you wanted to pay Won't you show me, please show me the way

Temptation

A heaven I'd get with a hope Just like the feeling inside, it's no joke And though it hurts me to treat you this way Betrayed my words, I'd never heard, too hard to say Up, down, turn around Please don't let me hit the ground Tonight I think I'll walk alone I'll find my soul as I go home

Each way I turn, I know I'll always try To break this circle that's been placed around me From time to time, I find I've lost some need That was urgent to myself, I do believe Up, down, turn around Please don't let me hit the ground Tonight I think I'll walk alone I'll find my soul as I go home

Oh, you've got green eyes Oh, you've got blue eyes Oh, you've got grey eyes And I've never seen anyone quite like you before No, I've never met anyone quite like you before Thoughts from above hit the people down below People in this world, we have no place to go Oh, it's the last time Oh, I've never met anyone quite like you before Oh no, I've never met anyone quite like you before

Blue Monday

How does it feel to treat me like you do? When you've your hands upon me And told me who you are I thought I was mistaken I thought I heard your words Tell me, how do I feel Tell me now, How do I feel

Those who came before me Lived through their vocations From the past until completion They'll turn away no more And I still find it so hard To say what I need to say But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me Just how I should feel today

I see a ship in the harbor I can and shall obey But if it wasn't for your misfortune I'd be a heavenly person today And I thought I was mistaken And I thought I heard you speak Tell me how do I feel Tell me now, how should I feel

Now I stand here waiting... I thought I told you to leave me While I walked down to the beach Tell me how does it feel When your heart grows cold

Confusion

(W W W R L) You just can't believe me When I show you what you mean to me You just can't believe me When I show you what you cannot see

You're hiding from feelings, searching for more Sharing and hoping, untouched for so long Our lives still change from the way that we were And now I'll tell you something I think you should know You just can't believe me When I show you what you mean to me You just can't believe me When I show you what you cannot see

You cause me confusion, you told me you cared He's calling these changes that last to the end Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies The past is your present, the future is mine You just can't believe me When I show you what you mean to me You just can't believe me When I show you what you cannot see

You tell me you need me, I'll make it this time The thread won't divide us, the sensation survives I was sure that I told you it was good from the face You've caused me some problems, you've taken my place

Why can't you see what you mean to me?
Thieves Like Us

I've watched your face for a long time It's always the same I've studied the cracks and the wrinkles You were always so vain Well, now you live your life like a shadow In the pouring rain Oh, it's called love Yes, it's called love Oh, it's called love And it belongs to us Oh, it dies so quickly It grows so slowly But when it dies, it dies for good It's called love And it belongs to everyone but us

I've lived my life in the valleys I've lived my life on the hills I've lived my life on alcohol I've lived my life on pills But it's called love And it belongs to us It's called love And it's the only thing that's worth living for It's called love And it belongs to us It's called love Yes it's called love

Oh, love is found in the east and west But when love is at home, it's the best Love is the cure for every evil Love is the air that supports the eagle It's called love And it's so un-cool It's called love And somehow it's become unmentionable It's called love And it belongs to every one of us It's called love And it cuts your life like a broken knife
Perfect Kiss

I stood there beside myself, Thinking hard about the weather Then came by a friend of mine Suggested we go out together Then I knew it from the start: This friend of mine would fall apart Pretending not to see his guilt, I said "let's go out and have some fun" I know, you know, you believe in a land of love I know, you know, we believe in a land of love

I have always thought about Staying here and going out Tonight I should have stayed at home, Playing with my pleasure zone He has always been so strange, I'd often thought he was deranged Pretending not to see his gun, I said "let's go out and have some fun" I know, you know, we believe in a land of love I know, you know, we believe in a land of love

When you are alone at night You search yourself for all the things That you believe are right If you give it all away You throw away your only chance to be here today Then a fight breaks out on your street You lose another broken heart in a land of meat My friend, he took his final breath Now I know the perfect kiss is the kiss of death
Subculture

I like walking in the park When it gets late at night I move `round in the dark And leave when it gets light I sit around by day Tied up in chains so tight These crazy words of mine So wrong they could be What do I get out of this? I always try, I always miss One of these days you'll go back to your home You won't even notice that you are alone One of these days when you sit by yourself You'll realise you can't show off without someone else In the end you will submit It's got to hurt a little bit

I like talking in my sleep When people work so hard They need what they can't keep A choice that leaves them scarred A room without a view Unveils the truth so soon And when the sun goes down You've lost what you had What do I get out of this? I always try, I always miss One of these days you'll go back to your home You won't even notice that you are alone One of these days when you sit by yourself You'll realise you can't show off without someone else In the end you will submit It's got to hurt a little bit
Shellshock

That's the way - Shellshock Hold on! It's never enough It's never enough until your heart stops beating The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

You call me on the phone, you left me all alone All I get from you is shellshock Another day goes by and all I do is cry All I get from you is shellshock I'd tell the world and save my soul But rain falls down and I feel cold A cold that sleeps within my heart It tears the earth and sun apart But that's the way that I can win A victim of your evil sin You've lost the hold you've had on me By causing the changes that you never see Hold on! It's never enough It's never enough until your heart stops beating The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

When we walk through open doorways, Counting time in one or more ways We can't find our peace of mind And life becomes a life of crime And that's the day I call your name I came to you, I called in vain You lost the faith within your heart The fire in your soul from the end to the start Hold on! It's never enough It's never enough until your heart stops beating The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating

I've been good and I've been bad But common sense I've never had No matter how I try and try, I hide the truth behind a lie But that's the way that I can win A victim of your evil sin You lost the faith within your heart The fire in your soul from the end to the start Hold on! It's never enough It's never enough until your heart stops beating The deeper you get, the sweeter the pain Don't give up the game until your heart stops beating
State Of The Nation

You can walk, or you can run You don't have to be someone I went on a summer cruise Upon an ocean born to lose My brother said that he was dead I saw his face and shook my head Can you see where we can't be We're losing our blood in the sea 'Cause it's the state of the nation That's holding our salvation Yes, it's the state of the nation That's holding our salvation Oh, the state of the nation Is causing death inflation Oh, the state of the nation Is causing death inflation

From my home I traveled far I drove in my stolen car When it broke down, I kissed the ground 'Cause I don't kiss when you're around I don't find that I have been The portrait of an only son If that's the case, then who could tell Where my story had begun? Cause it's the state of the nation That's holding our salvation Yes, it's the state of the nation That's holding our salvation Yes, the state of the nation That's causing death inflation Oh, the state of the nation That's causing death inflation

Even now, I'm all alone Behind a wall that's made of stone I think about where we have been And all the sights that could be seen I know it all could be worthwhile If only I could force a smile Now we turn our backs to the sea The shame of a nation we'll never be Cause it's the state of the nation That's holding our salvation Yes, it's the state of the nation That's holding our salvation Oh, the state of the nation Is causing death inflation Yes, the state of the nation Is causing death inflation
Bizarre Love Triangle

Every time i think of you I feel shot right through with a bolt of blue It's no problem of mine but it's a problem I find Living a life that I can't leave behind There's no sense in telling me The wisdom of a fool won't set you free But that's the way that it goes And it's what nobody knows While every day my confusion grows Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray I'm waiting for that final moment You'll say the words that I can't say

I feel fine and I feel good I'm feeling like I never should Whenever I get this way, I just don't know what to say Why can't we be ourselves like we were yesterday I'm not sure what this could mean I don't think you're what you seem I do admit to myself That if I hurt someone else Then I'll never see just what we're meant to be Every time I see you falling I get down on my knees and pray I'm waiting for that final moment You'll say the words that I can't say
True Faith (The Morning Sun)

I feel so extraordinary Something's got a hold on me I get this feeling I'm in motion A sudden sense of liberty I don't care 'cause I'm not there And I don't care if I'm here tomorrow Again and again I've taken too much Of the things that cost you too much I used to think that the day would never come I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear I used to think that the day would never come That my life would depend on the morning sun...

When I was a very small boy, Very small boys talked to me Now that we've grown up together They're afraid of what they see That's the price that we all pay And the value of destiny comes to nothing I can't tell you where we're going I guess there was just no way of knowing I used to think that the day would never come I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear I used to think that the day would never come That my life would depend on the morning sun...

I feel so extraordinary Something's got a hold on me I get this feeling I'm in motion A sudden sense of liberty The chances are we've gone too far You took my time and you took my money Now I fear you've left me standing In a world that's so demanding I used to think that the day would never come I'd see delight in the shade of the morning sun My morning sun is the drug that brings me near To the childhood I lost, replaced by fear I used to think that the day would never come That my life would depend on the morning sun...
In A Lonely Place

Caressing the marble and stone Love that was special for one The waste and the fever and hate How I wish you were here with me now

The body that kills and hides Matches an awful delight One like a dog `round your feet How I wish you were here with me now

The hangman looks `round as he waits Gullet stretches tight and it breaks Someday we will die in your dreams How I wish we were here with you now
Procession

There is no end to this I have seen your face But I don't recognize all these things

Minor correction to the Brasilia gig on 2006-11-10, Ceremony is played before Who's Joe. Just fixed the new-order.net gigography, and I also had KW1 instead of Atmosphere, whoops!

Full Perth 87 and Tampa 86 listings now up on MDMA.

Come on Nick, keep up with all this excellent new old info and get this gig guide up to date! :)

An amendment is required for 2006. The gig in Barcelona in July was at Parc del Fòrum not at Montjuic as listed.

Just done a review for my first NO gig, at the Bristol Studio in June 1984. Procession, which they did second, seems to be missing from the set list and, if you're interested, they went off after TPK and did EGG, Temptation and BM as encores.

I had no idea where the band were actually playing when I arrived in the respective city. All I was armed with was the damned t-shirt. The usual scenario was to ring a local radio station or record store then ask them.

On a few occasions it did go a little wrong ... You can read all about it in the book!

The first show of the US89 tour is missing. PUERTO RICO DID happen, although I do not know the specific date when they played. This was confirmed to me by both BERNARD and STEVE.

The following gig did NOT happen. We traveled to Montreal, but for some reason it was CANCELED. We buggered off to Cape Code for a few days prior to the Boston show.

I hope the responses weren't mostly 'New Order WHO?'...

Eagerly looking forward to reading it when it comes out.

Originally, it was supposed to be 08 April 1989 but got postponed to the following night. However, according to Elvin Orta and JS, the performance was cancelled due to bad weather. All I can note is that this is in dispute.

Sun, Apr 16 1989 - Saenger Theater, NEW ORLEANS, Louisiana Thu, Apr 20 1989 - City Coliseum, AUSTIN, Texas

Interesting there's a four day break here.

Thu, May 04 1989 - Queen Elizabeth Theater, VANCOUVER, British Columbia

So it looks like we have all the dates for the first leg of the tour.

Sun, Jun 25 1989 - Sandstone Amphitheater, BONNER SPRINGS, Missouri

Bonner Springs is actually in Kansas, but it's right on the border, the confusion is that this may have been billed as being the Kansas City date, which is Missouri.

Mon, Jul 03 1989 - ? - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Don't have the venue name here either.

Thanks. We have mentioned this a few times before, but it doesn't seem to be that much of a priority these days to get the gigography up to date or even basically correct. Sam's site has it right though. http://www.new-order.net

Thu, Jun 29 1989Mascus Amphitheatre - Milwaukee, Wisconsin (US)

Dream Attack, True Faith, Mr Disco, As It Is When It Was, 1963, Vanishing Point, Round & Round, Temptation, Bizarre Love Triangle, The Perfect Kiss, Blue Monday, Fine Time

It's the Marcus Amphitheatre, and the show starts with Touched By The Hand Of God, followed by Ceremony, then onto Dream Attack and the rest of the show as listed.

I have a cassette of this complete show.

If my memory serves me correctly that gig was part of some kind of festival.

I am sure punters were getting in for free if they brought items for recycling (newspaper, cardboard)

A nice sunny day, but not a particularly good NO show however (like a majority of stage 2 of that tour)

well, the hangman looks round as he waits, cord stretches tight then it breaks, part at least exists because ive got it!! i got it off some guy on facebook, the quality is rather dull at times and it has been apparently deliberately reduced in sound quality, with a 2 second gap after ians singing and then somemusic which would be probably 30 secs further on which startsto sound good quality. All in all i would say the 30 second clip was from a differnt take, probably a four track recorder and so will be of higher quality. According to some big mouthed no alls on facebook called seth eigenmann and robert eigenmann they have the tapes given too them from peter hook, the qualty is now excellent and will be released later this year. i think there bullshitting, never the less atleast more tape/tapes exist. in the meantime i have put his clip (crudely in with the heart and soulversion and extended the track to 4.45, i have covered the gaps wand joins with slow cymbal and adde some sampled vocal of ian and thunder to very vaguely copy the new order version. its far from perfect but its the best i can do thus far. This is on you tube type in 'JOY DIVISION HANGMAN' by birdandthe dont confuse it with some ridiculous versions with war scenes!!!!!!!!! happy listening

All this attention seeking is bloody tiresome. We know it exists - some of us on here may well have heard it - all this rising above the parapet gets on my fucking nerves.
