New Order live @ Apollo, Manchester, 2005.11.14

Another great night out and great gig, agree with Al that the Brixton gig seemed more of a buzz but thats mainly down to them knocking us off our feet by kicking off with Ceremony! No such surprises at the Apollo, less banter between songs but a slightly tighter performance.

Great to see everyone again, too many names to mention but u know who u all are :D

special shout to Ricardo for making it over from Brazil! and Cuana-D and Clockwork C Irish Order for making the hop over to Mancland (hope u got back ok guys)

I'm working in Liverpool at the moment so last night was easy to get to. Met a number of the Vikings before, during and after and had a top night. I'll be there at Charlton assuming your still in the Upper Holte I'll see you by the food area? Mail me if you want to meet in the Aston Social beforehand. Enjoy Ally Pally if you go, Al and others will be there of course.

Fantastic. Knew it was you. In fact now I think long and hard about it sure you mentioned this site a while ago. So Liverpool? that was a result for the Manc gig then. A night out with the infamous Vikings - proper jealous. I took a mate to Brixton who hadn't seen them since G-Mex 88 and he absolutley loved it. You're spot on with the NEC 89 answer, I must have primed you with that some time surely??????

Still a holtender in the sky (clouds!!) and will be at Chrlton so like the idea of a pre meet-up.

Wow, what a day/night, what a gig?! Everything went so fast, would love to slow down all 14 hours of it into a week. So many people to talk to, so much fun to be had!

Amazing gig, never been to squashed - but that was partly due to Barney Army!

Good to meet up with old and new, Monty (very funny you are!) and his 'twin' Bansheeman (shame you forgot your conker), Angel with a Catapult, Matt Hicks, Mrs James Thomas, good to see again - CuanaD, Wino (shame you had problem with the wine!), Digital Mike (ta!) Shaun, Ricardo (who I called Ronaldo!) and London Order.

Don had me posing against Hooky's number plate like a tart at a motor show to take pics!!

Poor Mrs Sumner, think she had a bit too much, had problems getting out of the ladies!

Santfekuss - Lorraine was 'The Blonde' who you had to give the drumstick to!!

Hallelujah Hallelujah. Fantastic night. Where to start?

I headed with Conrad and 2 more Irish fans (Emear and Darragh). Our plane was delayed, but we got there around 4 or 5. Highlights:

1. Ceremony. What a tune live.
2. The rest of the live show - obviously
3. Hitting Alan Wise with a packet of Rolos (if only he would have picked it up- it was a present!)
4. Seeing Tracey Barlow! Gosh, I was starstruck!
5. Meeting Ricardo (One Brian – i.e Brian Eno!) who came from Brazil and Ben (Church of the KLF) who came from the states via Copenhagen.
6. Seeing Bens video of Bernard dancing.
7. Hookys dedication, which was really nice.
8. Meeting (in no particular order) – Colin (Big-in-oil- thanks for waiting up with us, and the stories) Alan Jarvis and Mark, Grahame Chapman, Don & Ness, the other lads in the bar afterward (sorry, I forget names), the lads in the bar before hand (sorry, I forget names-but I do remember faces), Steve Campbell (an absolute legend – but you should have written “hate” on the back of the jacket!) Steves mate, the lad with the poster,Samantha Chapman and Ashley (thanks for the ticket, Rocket Mick, talking with Liam!, Mike (thanks for the voucher), Bernard & Hookys old schoolfriend Chris (thanks for the lift to the gig), the crowd back in “our Traceys” bar – whatever it was called. There were more people, but I just cant put names to faces right now. All very nice anyhow.
9. The cabby. What on earth was he saying?

Low-Lights:

1. Hurting my foot quite bad on the 3rd or 4th song, and having to retire to the back of the idiot-pit from then on. It’s pretty swollen now. My head still hurts too!
2. Getting punched in the face by Colin while I was still down there!
3. Seeing the Factory HQ and Dry in such a dilapidated state.
4. Out of stock books.
5. Trying to stay awake and being very cold in the AM while waiting for the train with Cuana D.
6. Being very, very tired while waiting for the plane with Cuana D.

On the flag: perhaps its kidnapper could take it on holiday with them, and send back kidnapped photos? The flag in Moscow, the flag on the Oakland bridge, etc. Also: will someone archive the gig online?

There is lots Im forgetting now, but it will all come back soon enough.

Really Canny gig, but personally would have liked a New Order tune to finish with?? Nice to meet & greet familiar faces and new ones. Glad to see Santekfus/Phil (being from Darlo) was being a Gent giving drum stick to Lorraine- (going by photo looks chuffed)

Absolutely top night, NO were on top form! Not sure what happened to the sound during Atmosphere however, but who cares! Special mention to Digital Mike for the Brixton CD, and of course Al for the latest badge! Thanks! Felt like crap today!
