It's all for charity, and ticket prices will depend on what overheads we pick up, but I am guessing it will probably be £10, very much doubt it will be any more than that.

My band is still interested, just need to ask the drummer. However, we have no bass amp or drum kit. :/

Bloody hell, I saw that last post at work and its been a good five hours since I left there. How come no one seems to have taken Marc up on his offer? Or been ridiculously quick to offer him the use of some equipment?

You have to wonder what kind of band has a drummer without a kit and a bassist without an amp! Love of life makes you feel "HIRE" !

I have my big bass amp in Sussex, he has his drum kit in Sunderland. Might be a bit of a hassle transportation-wise. :/

Good news chaps and chapesses, we have a venue!

GJ's, the place that we were gonna use for the oldmonkey 40th birthday gig until we got a gig in Glasgow, have taken a booking just a few minutes ago. Gregor the boss is a fan of the band, it turns out!

We've got the whole pub/venue to ourselves, two bars, stage, restaurant etc. We'll have to sell tickets in advance and do a lot of organising etc.

I'll set up all the details about the venue etc when I get home. There is a Travelodge about 200 yards away, it's 3 mins from a tube on the Northern Line Zone 3, and there are several cracking curry houses etc nearby. And some football pitches just round the corner!

GJs I note on the front page of their site they offer a spit roast... definitely one of the boxes I didn't expect to see ticked.

Nice one, it has the potential to be a really good night. Let me know when you need money i'm happy to pay upfront. Perhaps people should be emailing now to give you an idea of numbers expected.

Ta, guess we'll sell tickets through the site. There's still a hell of a lot to do, all kinds of logistics, publicity, promotion etc.

All it's cost me is £50 deposit (!) and about twelve months of earache!

We've got the whole venue, which means we can fit 300 in. Obviously we'll be looking to get close to that figure, and we'll be able to publicise it on here, through Re: Order, Digital and Flight gigs, and I would imagine a whole range of other channels too.

I shall start contacting various people who had offered to do things very soon! Right now it's feet up and a beer though.

Well done to all concerned in organizing this, especially Tim. Should be a cracking weekend. I'd imagine there'd be around 10 attending from Corby, including a strong fitba team. Let us know of any monies required up front.

Just lemme know the approc size of the place and whether or not they have anything nice and loud in house we can blag the use of. Essentially I am fairly sure of everything except how much PA to hang off the mixer. I am assuming we're not going for EVIL volume anyway, and if we can use the electronic kit, we're on a winner.

which GJ'S is it - wandsworth or colliers wood?

I'm assuming here it's Colliers Wood,the newer place has venue facilities,and later describes it's near the Northern Line. Can't wait. Nice work,Timothy!

It's the Colliers Wood one. We used to go in there all the time when we lived in Colliers Wood a couple of years back, and it's a great place. We were holding my birthday gig there, but that has had to be postponed because we're playing in Glasgow the next night instead, and the lads don't want to do two gigs several hundred miles apart in two nights (quite understandably!).

I'm going down there later this week to get all the tech spec, room dimensions etc so we know what rig to get. I do know that they have an in-house PA that is used for DJ sets, whether that will fit the bill I don't know yet. We don't want a massive set-up though, something that we can all use (Digital have our own PA that we often use as a monitor mix or for sequencers, I guess Re: Order do as well) without any problems. Will keep people posted!

As soon as I've got a feel for what any additional sound will cost us, we can set the ticket price. Bearing in mind that the objective is to raise money for charity, we will only be paying expenses to bands (who may decide to donate that back, of course!). With a 300 cap on the venue it'll have to be around £10 per ticket I think. Not bad for what you will be getting!

The in house rig may not be any use, especially if it has speakers all over the place.Obviously from a cash saving point of view, the in house system would be the way to go.

Had a quick look at GJs this morning ,spot on Tim well done mate. One thing i forgot to look at when i was there,was parking for the re: order tour/shag bus. Is there any on site??

Yeah, there's car parking at the front. Not much mind, but you'll be ok with the van there.

Good question about backline - with up to 5 bands playing now we'll have to sort out who provides the drum kit, for example. Gonna sort out the PA situation with the gaffer at the weekend, if need be I'll hire a decent rig then hand it over to Cambo to work his magic.

Makes sense to only have one set of amps etc on stage, and for those travelling from afar to only bring guitars/keys/effects etc.

Hopefully there will be a video wall or a white sheet at the worst for a Flight laser show as well, but don't hold your breath on that one Dave!

Wherever possible I usually like to use my own drum kit at gigs so if that's OK with everyone then I'm happy to kit share with anyone....I live quite close so it would be easy to get my kit there and hopefully that would make it easier for Flight or Jaks band if they are having to travel down from the North.

The only thing I normally say is that people bring their own cymbals and Snare Drum etc.
