none of the hotels are hat shit on bath road - i dont think - not really really shit anyhow! But great place to be walking distance to everywhere - the opera house will only cost a fiva in a cab from the BIC or bath road. What is the name of the hotels you guys are staying in?
Hey people, long time no see... I'm DROWNING in my fookin to do list... How I wish I could come to the BIC, has it been said the support band will be Gabrielles Wish? I discovered that band when they supported New Order for the first time, in Manchester in 1998, it was a true revelation, that was my first New Order gig so it'll always be the music day of my life. By the way on the Gabrielles Wish site there's a gallery with wonderful photos made by Natalie Curtis, been in touch with her and she seems really nice and intelligent, apart from a very well promising artist. You won't believe it, but one day I'll be back...
Does anyone know if Mr A Wise still has any tickets?
And is anyone from Portsmouth going on his return coach trip?

The Russel Court is ok - not the best very 1960/70s decor could do with a revamp - but hey thats not a bad price - as have been looking at some places - people would be better off with a band b athere are plently in boscombe end of bournemouth where the after party is - dont worry i wont stalk you my friend!

The train journey from Southampton airport to Bournemouth, the South Coast mainline is supposed to be VERY scenic.

'moon in the square' for cheap and cheerfull, 'landmark' for expensive and weird (its in a converted church), 'a million postcards from nowhere' is middle of the road, or 'harbour heights' which has a huge balcony that over looks the sea and the pier from about 70 ft above the beach! All of which are within five minutes walk of the bic, plus i left out about 10 others! plus ive heard rumors that the party has been cancelled at the opera house? anyone got any more info?

yeah wold be helpfull if the news on the aftershow party has be cancelled, what a shame, anyone any idea? Was going to stay nearer the opera House than the BIc although they are pretty close, if it is cancelled i shall stay in the centre of bournemouth. yeah there are some fab bars: check out www.beerintheevening.com you can make your own pub crawl there!!! There are alot of snobby posh bars in Bournemouth which are ok for Bournemouth people but if you want a proper pub then you want oneils (Irish - old christchurch road), Litten Tree (Old christchurch road),tap and hobbit, yates all in the centre and ten/15 minutes walk to the bic x
Does anyone have any idea what the music set will be like for the evening??? As i have previuosly said i was not, but am now, after the weekend espcially, got a bit boozy and sat watching New Order Videos until 3.30 very coooollll ha ha! Just wondered if i needed ti listen to any tunes so can learn to sing along he he! Will they be playing any of the old classic stuff (Joy division also?) Lets hope so! So are any of you guys planning a meeting from everyone here from new order online? be pretty cool wouldnt it! Or some of you!!
Gabrielles Wish If you don't know them on the site you find a lot of MP3 files for free download. For me they're the best band of these last two decades, they've been described as the "closest thing to Joy Division today" but cross that with a strong Fall influence as well. I discovered them when they supported New Order in Manchester in 1998, that was my first time seeing New Order so you can bet I couldn't wait to see them and yet I was totally blown away by Gabrielles Wish and didn't want them to stop, they have a storming live impact, music which doesn't just try to imitate post punk like weak bands like Editors or Interpol do, it's music which really reincarnates the spirit of post punk with the same intensity (also thanks to Rob Corless which is an extraordinary frontman), they would have been perfect in the early 80s Factory though they sometimes have a contemporary edge and explore different styles in their instrumental tracks. They're the main reason of my lack of time to check this forum, which I'm missing a lot, that's how much I care about them... My latest update is a gallery with pictures taken by Natalie Curtis

There's always some form of mass consumption pre-gig.
the set is likely to be the ISO9000 New Order Set, the same one you can see listed here for every gig they played in the last 2 years. Although there might apparently be a difference here and there in Bournemouth, assuming Alan Wise was talking less shite than usual.
I'm Goin!!! :-) Can't Wait. Gunna be my first New Order gig. Last time I went to the BIC was to see the Chemical Bro's. That night was awesome. This promises to be equally as good if not better! The 2 weeks can't come quick enough...

By the way fully agree on the chemical bros gig, at the moment its the best gig ive seen so far and ive seen a few other other bands, but that fooking rocked cant wait till see them again just for chemical beats! and was good to hear bernie briefly on out of control!

WOW! Photos taken by Natalie Curtis! Well, if there was ever a reason to watch Gabs Wish thats it there! 
Actually, Gabs Wish are very good. Karen is very fit and Darrens a nice lad. Although if i remember correctly he owes me a pint. Although he did describe Gabs Wish as a "mix of Joy Division and the Cheeky Girls" He was actually half right...

Indeed, Darren came over to Sveden with us on one New Order excursion and was a top lad all round.
No offence to Gab's Wish, I'm still gonna sit in the pub though.
