Thank you everyone

We made it happen. Money still being counted, and obviously the CDs/DVDs that we make from this will go into the eventual figure, as will any additional merchandise sales, but we are getting somewhere towards the original plan figure, even with the huge and totally unexpected additional venue costs that just landed in my inbox. Hope you enjoyed the sound, it's cost me twice the expected figure! Now we need to ramp the takings up by getting businesses to double and redouble it.

To those who gave so much to be there and contribute, my sincere thanks.

If you work for a major company, tell them about what we have done, use Viking empowerment to make them give us some money. To plagiarise a well-known sportswear manufacturer, impossible is nothing.

Nice post but it should be thanks to you Tim and everyone else who put in the effort, organised Blue Saturday, brought us NOOLers together and gave us a great night on Saturday I'd like to thank. Keep us posted on the CD/DVD as wouldn't mind seeing yourselves (Digital), Re:Order, Pottsy, Hooky and ourselves in action again! Cheers!!

Before i go back to being my usual SILLY self on the other threads can i just say a BIG THANKS to TIM and all the pople who helped organise SATURDAY because it was SUPERB.So much time and effort by TIM but is showed.Also a very warm thanks to HOOKY,POTTSY and the groups for their great music.I am not alone in saying this was a tremendous evening IN BETWEEN DAYS of NEW ORDER MAGIC.Long live ROCK and SAUSAGE ROLLS!

Yes, it was a great night Tim. Great that so many performers were happy to get involved. Very good turn out of people also.

I wonder why I responded to that other bit first EEEEP! nope, I can honestly say that I am no respecteer of red lights, and will cane a system to death if I have to. I've knocked a few into protect mode. But, in all my, I dunno, couple of hundred gigs, I only ever sent one system home stone dead, or even damaged, and that was one, hired to us by a smug fuck with the words "I'll give you this one as it's physically unblowable", for a college gig...it was pathetic, and in the end the head music lecturer kicked me off the desk, lit the cunt oup like a Xmas tree and blew the shit out of it, jst to hear a song he liked. The ULU engineer was a lovely chap and we got on well, so if anything got fucked over it was after ALL the bands had finished, as he was with me at the end of Re Order's set, and said it had all been dead on. If we are talkng damage, my money is on that appalling racket when Hooky's deck fell aprt on him.

hehehe, methinks Cambo doeth protest too much, but I have a newfound reptation as tribute engineer (in that Will told me to turn the sequencer up....the greatest honour of my life....I think, I felt like that poor cunt Ed on PFD for a second....the fact that Will was merely undergoing a bout of in-character tourettes, is neither here, nor there. Seriously tho, what's the bill, I'm worried

TIM - you deserve ALL the credit and ALL the plaudits. You worked your nuts off and I know how stressed you were backstage all afternoon. The lack of organisation behind the scenes by the ULU guys didn't help you but you got the job done and made all the bands feel welcome and looked after. Your dedication was unswerving and I hope everyone appreciates what you did for them as much as we do.You sir, are a STAR

A HUGE HELLO to the MAD DUO (one Irish guy and one Texan and who's names I sadly fail to remember) who kept me amused during the long and very boring hours of the soundcheck. You guys are very cool and it was a pleasure to meet you both.

DIGITAL - quality JD tribute band. Tim I need your email addy as I have some contacts for you regarding the Hotel California in Birkenhead that we spoke about on Saturday.

RE:ORDER - to be honest, spookily better than the original at times. You guys blew the house down, a pleassure to watch you. We hope to get to play with either of you bands again at some point.

POTTSY - if Paul Weller's ever looking for a tribute band..... seriously they were tight and polished. Certainly showed us mere amateurs (by that I mean Flight)where to get off when it comes to production.

HOOKY was pleasantly droll and sarcastically funny in equal measure - so no change there then I guess. My wife loved the signed CD (although so far she hasn't followed through on the advice!)

All in all a great day and we were privileged to be able to contribute in some small way. Hopefully you made a fair wedge when all is said and done.

Cheers to those who were sympathetically kind to us when we played.

I'll give you a few good reasons why it won't be at the ULU next year.....

500 - number of students I was told would be coming, more if the publicity goes well. Figures calculated on that basis, included projected charity figure. NOOL projection was 200 Vikings, we didn't quite get there (187 with a few tickets still to be returned/cash handed over, we should just make the 200).

9 - number of students who paid to attend (well, 11, but two of them were NOOLers I advised to pay on the door).

There were quite a lot more than 200 in the venue, so unless some people had found a free way in, or had faked a guestlist, something doesn't add up.

I'm not saying anything else on the subject just yet.....

Just want to echo what's been said above regarding huge thanks to Tim, the bands, Pottsy & Hooky, and everyone who attended for making it such a top evening... It was really great to finally meet so many NOOLers...

No other way of doing it, you can't squeeze four bands and two DJs into six hours any other way. People had enough advance warning of when the bands were on!

If I could do it all again, it would not have as many bands, or it would become an all-dayer. I felt so sorry for the Flight guys, the only band to turn up on time for the soundcheck, having to wait around while the less professional amongst us had to be rounded up, then having to play to a crowd that were largely in the other room. You deserved better, guys. We'll also have to put a more stringent limit on set length, I almost had to stop Sarge going on and pulling the plug when Re: Order overran...

Right now, I won't be doing another one, certainly not at somewhere like ULU. It'll have to be at a venue that is prepared to use their bar takings as their cut of proceeds, and will take place in Manchester.

Thank You Tim and all the people who helped for organising such a great night, it was suberb. Thanks to all the bands, Hooky, Pottsy. Had a great time.
