Do New Order have any tribute bands about? I know Happy Mondays do (Baggy Mondays) and The Stone Roses (Stoned Roses) because they played the same fuckin night as the last London gig!

Would love to, if I knew how to play, think I'll just stick to singing in the shower:lol:

Did you know that there is a Stone Roses tribute band named after virtually every song they ever did? Now is that sad or is that sad?

Check: Waterfall, Fool's Gold, One Love (not to be confused with One Dove), Made Of Stone, Turns To Stone (well, a paraphrase of a compilation LP title), The Complete Stone Roses (ditto), Stoned Moses, The Rosetta Stones, The Rosy Stoners, Elephant Stone, Resurrection Stone, Ten Storey Roses, Sally Cinnamon, Stoned & Adored, fuck - the list is endless!!

My mate Stuart (Walshie - an Anti-New Order philistine who posted here a couple of weeks ago pretending to be me, the bastard) had checked out a couple of the bands - Waterfall are from St. Helens, near Wigan, and Made of Stone hail from Congleton. According to Stu, the former were laughably punch-drunk (whatever that means), and the Congleton mob were not exactly the most accomplished of Stone Roses tribbbands - the bassist apparently is called Mannix (fuck!!) - but he was pretty terrible all told.

Also, I understand that three more of the bands (Stoned & Adored, Tens Storey Roses, plus A.N. Other) have since disbanded (thank fuck for that!) presumably because they felt that the market for shite Roses copyists is such cliched old hat now - a wise decision, me thinks.

Anyway, correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm sure a band already exists with the name Rosetta Stone (who have absolutely NOTHING to do with the roses anyway).

Sue the bastards, that's what I say!!

Taboo and I are starting a NewOrder boy band. Were going to remix all the instrumentals, and have prettyboys doing the vocals with 'baby baby' and oooh oooh, I need your love' mixed in here and there.

Well...being from Texas and all, some of us down here had thought of converting New Order tunes into the country and western format and releasing them upon all the cowboys of the world. Especially seeing as how there is already an AC/DC cover band out there doing this, we can't consider this to be an original idea.

Sorry Frode, I meant to be more specific, are there any New Order tribute bands that play in Britain?
