Anyone know any thing about, or a full tracklisting of this item on sale at EIL: http://eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=268609&from=AG01D90
What mixes does this contain, and for what purpose? Can't afford the thing anyway - just wondered!

Could that be a promo-set for the aborted 'Recycle' project?
Yeah, I saw that - shame I don't have 550 quid to spend on records... :(
Esprit seems to have got quite a bit of stuff just recently... I might have been persuaded to buy the "Various 7" Versions" CD-R if it hadn't already been sold!
I'm guessing that it probably is a promo for the aborted Recycle project, but without shelling out the cash, we might never know...
l8rs,
Nick ;)
the various 7" versions thing looked quite interesting though, the hacienda flexi tracks on a cd! plus temptation 7" and the happy one. if they were straight from the masters then cool, if they're just taken from vinyl (which does happen) then not so good (do your own)

Don't get too excited. IIRC, according to David the vinyl-only tracks were taken from the vinyl...

DON'T GET TOO EXCITED THESE ARE BOOTLEGS.DON'T WANT TO NAME THE SOURCE BUT BELIEVE ME BOOTLEGS THEY ARE
SORRY FOR THE BAD NEWS,EIL SHOULD TAKE THEM OFF SALE OR AT LEAST REDUCE THOSE SILLY PRICES
ANDREW![]()
well - i don't know if this is a boot or not
but I do know they've sold dodgy stuff before... essentially any of those Taiwan Imports (or what it the Phillipines...) it's some weird deal w/ copyright laws
and I've seen a release for Moby that was quite obviously a bootleg. It said it was outtakes from Play, but amongst the tracks was a b-side from Animal Rights

frankly, i think you should be naming the source if you know for certain who is responsible. this is no less than ROBBING FROM NEW ORDER and the FANS. i saw several suspicious releases in the New Order section and suspect there are many items for sale there that are Bootlegs. Technology today makes it Super Easy to produce what look like real "In-House" CD Promo's from big labels like Warner. Their discs conform to a specific design that is not hard to duplicate. I would never buy a Label In House CDR or any CDR for that matter. CD Acetate is misleading.
Out the person (scoundrel) selling this ridiculous package. I could knock up the same set in a matter of minutes as everything he's listed is in iTunes right now but i have respect for New Order and do not plan on stealing from them.

you're right there - there's been a PVC bag for sale for GPB100 for a while now. today I got notification that it now has a bigger logo and detachable mobile phone thingy for only GPB 200 ! I am mad but not that mad ![]()
Okay, here is the rather strange track listing:
{1} Perfect Kiss {Extended} {2} Perfect Kiss {Dub Mix} {3} Perfect Kiss {Instrumental} {4} Perfect Kiss {Video Short Version} {5} Sub-Culture {Remix} {6} Sub-Vulture {7} Sub-Culture {8} True Faith {Extended} {9} True Faith {Alternate Faith Mix} {10} True Faith {Remix 7-Inch} {11} Blue Monday {12} Blue Monday {How Does It Feel Mix - 1988} {13} Blue Monday {Dub Version - 1988} {14} Blue Monday {Single Remix Edit - 1988} {15} Touched By The Hand Of God {Remix} {16} Touched By The Hand Of God {Dub Version} {17} 1963 {18} 1963 {A Baker Remix} {19} Thieves Like Us {20} Best And Marsh {21} Beach {22} Round And Round {23} Round And Round {7 Inch} {24} Round And Round {Stephen Hague 12" Remix} {25} Round And Round {Kevin Saunderson Club Mix} {26} Round And Round {12" Ben Grosse Remix} {27} Fine Time {7 Inch Edit} {28} Fine Time {LP Version} {29} Fine Time {Dub Of FT} {30} Fine Time {Silk Mix} {31} Fine Time {Messing Around Mix} {32} Don't Do It {33} State Of The Nation {34} World In Motion {Single Mix} {35} World In Motion {B-Side} {36} World In Motion {No All Violenza Mix} {37} World In Motion {Subbuteo Mix} {38} World In Motion {Carabinieri Mix} {39} World In Motion {Subbuteo Dub} {40} Bizarre Love Triangle {LPV} {41} Bizarre Love Triangle {Extended Dance Mix} {42} Bizarre Love Triangle {Dub} {43} Bizarre Love Triangle {7 Inch} {44} Bizarre Love Triangle {45} Bizarre Love Triangle {46} Bizarre Love Triangle {Extended Edit} {47} Regret {LPV} {48} Regret {New Order Mix} {49} Regret {Fire Island Mix} {50} Regret {Junior Dub} {51} Spooky {Radio Edit} {52} Spooky {Stadium Mix} {53} Spooky {Magimix} {54} Spooky {Out Of Order Mix} {55} Spooky {Night Tripper Mix} {56} Spooky {Moulimix} {57} Spooky {New Order In Heaven Mix} {58} Spooky {Boo Dub Mix} {59} World {Radio Edit} {60} World {Perfecto Mix} {61} World {Brothers In Rhythm Mix} {62} World {World In Action Mix} {63} World {Perfecto Edit} {64} World {Sexy Disco Club Mix} {65} Ruined In A Day {Reunited In A Day Remix} {66} Ruined In A Day {Bogle Mix} {67} Ruined In A Day {Single}
Not quite a dry run for 'Recycled', but I have the majority of these on CD anyway, so no point wasting half a grand there then!
Andy.
... but some of it is otherwise unavailable on CD. I wonder what this stuff was mastered from?
Like Mr Discography I got as far as emailing for the listing, but now the price tag seems a bit steep when I have the majority of it on CD (and the rest on vinyl).
Hmmm. Any takers?
word is that the 6 cd set is authentic, but the other 1995 remixes etc cdrs are bootlegs, eil should know this and should be reported, also when i mentioned the source i actually meant who told me about these sets not the supplier or bootleger,i don't know who they are.

I know that David is one of the more popular persons to pick on here on NOOL, but don't be too naive and think that he's the only collector in the world with the motivation and resources to buy truly rare items... There are a handful around the world - not all of them have the interest to hang around online forums... ![]()
If you think that 1000USD is a lot of money for a collectible you should check out the market for other groups with a more substantial following, e.g., Metallica, U2, Beatles, etc...
Regarding bootlegs: didn't the NO catalog move over to Reprise in 2000/2001? I would imagine that they would have wanted to press some in-house CDRs to get a feel for the tracks available.

Yeah but think about it, a CDR is supposed to have a life between 10 or 20 years only depending on the quality of the product...
Hence, buying CDR promo is simply being sure to lose your money in the long run, unless you make sure they are not in contact with air from the moment you get it!!
I understand there are other collectors, but usually it's always him that get those.. and I can imagine it's a very small price compared to other mythic bands, but I never said Elvis fans were sane too :D

Nope, 100 years, according to TDK's website
I have bought New Order CD-R's from Esprit before (but not anywhere near that price), and I believe that Warners/Qwest *did* manufacture these for in-house purposes only. Whether someone has since duplicated them and then passing them off to Esprit as the real thing is another matter, but I believe that the titles in question do exist...
Anyhow, I somehow doubt whether Warner/Qwest would be too happy at seeing these for sale, anyway! ![]()
l8rs,
Nick :D
100 years?
Hum, the garantee written on most CD is 10 to 20 though... well, ok with me if it last that much...
Anyways, it would be brillant to have promo that only last a few months... nothing to collect, and the record label doesn't get screwed ;)

Kind of like those disposable DVDs that "self-destruct" (dis-colorizing) themselves after 48 hours?
Here's more info regarding CD-R lifetime.

Now that would be good - it would save me loads of cash! :D
As stated, it's incredibly easy to make copies of CD-R's and sell them off as the original - even I don't have 550 quid to spend on music! ![]()
BTW, if anybody here is the buyer of that 6 CD set, and unreleased to CD tracks (e.g. Dubvulture) are CD quality, do us a favour and upload them to the FTP so that we can all enjoy them! ![]()
l8rs,
Nick ;)
(not that i would sell them)...
but how much would a 25 cd-set of all the singles go for?
i'm still working on my 're-cycle' box set...and it will be 99% complete some time next year..
and it will include the artwork/ discography/etc....on all the discs...
i've pretty much got all the tracks now....(except for a few promo mixes, and odds and ends)...
