You're right Stephen, over the years Barney has become a beter vocalist, taken him a hell of a long time though.
Would you mind this guest vocalist on the upcoming album?

I hope they use Dawn Zee again, she brought something to Crystal that was lacking on some of the other recent tracks. Although she was full on diva on Vietnam.
Let Barney do the vocals, but I wouldn't mind if Hooky did one on the new album. At any rate, he's no "guest." He's "with the band."
Any members of the group should be cool to do vocals or backing vocals. New Order really has a certain sound though and I don't think many people can present it unless they're writing AND recording the music with them. Neil Tennant and Dave Gahan are singers people associate with having their distinc type of music so there is a risk of things sounding a bit un-new-order-ish if they were to guest on the album.
However, New Order is the only group has failed to make an album I didn't like, so I'm sure it will be great. ( Not counting groups who have less than 3 albums )
With all my respect to Mr. Tennant and, especially to Mr. Gaham, I wouldn't love hearing them on a new NO album. Barney's voice is all I want to hear. :p

I'm sick of bands having guest vocalists on their albums, i'ts becoming incestuous. Barney doesn't need help singing, he can sing fine by himself.
my thoughts exactly. how many more songs by so-and-so 'featuring' so-and-so do we need? it's ok every once in a while, but if an artist relies on guest vocalists for his or her survival than it's pathetic. NO are no different!
If the new album veers towards the Technique/chart friendly/teen pop audience, then Barney would be the choice.
I sincerely hope there will be more guitar based, rockier songs again - I'd love it to be part Barney, part Hooky, but then I much prefer guitars backed up by synths, rather than the other way round...
I'd prefer Barney doing nearly all the tracks, but Hooky (or/and perhaps even Gillian) doing the vox a song on a single for a B-side wouldn't be all that bad! :D
So does no one want to hear Steve the birthday boy singing on any track - I'd be interested in that!
Mainly tho, id like to hear Gillian doing lead vocals on a full-on ON track - wonder what that would sound like?
I`d like to see a collabaration with Terry Hall, although that would probably be better suited to a solo project with Bernard.
