Looks a little negative to me, some people might pick it up thinking about buying it read the cover and say "No" and put it back down, now if the cover had "BUY ME, BUY ME, BUY ME" on the cover, that may improve sales!!

I have Krafty's promo just in front of me.. the fonts are the EXACT SAME.
Just that you only have 2 caps on the promo, so you have to check with the lower case letters.
To proove my point:
Only difference, the album font is BOLD.
I bet it's embossed like Krafty's promo...

The black and white (Krafty) typeface is "Avant Garde"
The Orange and White (WFTSC) typeface is probably Helvetica (and looks like a "lightweight" one too)
Im not too sure yet. At least it doesnt look like "Krafty". Its more like the Get Ready covers than the Substance covers in my opinion.
It is a surprise anyhow, which is a good start. Give it a week or so. I dont think we can really say what it will look like until the actual album comes out. At the moment, its just a 150x150 jpeg. 
p.s. I like the PSB covers.
Can't recall who mentioned it, but I read in this forum that the album artwork is of a plane taking off in blurred black and white effect - similar style to the Krafty single - with band name and album title centred on the back of the sleeve, a la Technique.
So I would say this is deffo a promo - Warner Germany edition only p'raps?
It is very minimalist - something we may not be so accustomed to from Mr. Saville, however, my personal belief is that it is not what it outside, but what is inside that counts...

The first place who got the artwork was the french ecommerce site FNAC... but the German Warner site got all promotional pictures first.. and I think International too, don't know for Retro... and Krafty.

That was the bootleg... so of course nothing official.
Would it be funny that the label would be using us so bootleggers would use that cover and find them out? 
I would really like to see how much he got paid for that?
I still say Retro is worse, but this is second worst. But it does have a nice font for new order.
But the important thing is its a great cd. and I love it!

Movement and Substance?
This is a little too Joy Division, don't you think? It's not 1981 anymore.
True Faith single was my fav, along with Republic and PLC. New Order artwork has always been best when it is minimalistic with a flair of heart and soul.

Too simple, too minimalist... but Substance is simple and minimalist too, and it´s a classic. I really don´t know if I really liked or disliked it.

I hate to say it, but if that's the true cover (still hoping it's just a promo) it sucks. It's easily Saville's worst ever, it doesn't make sense (Though it may look like a chemical formula and orange on white can be cool but add something for fooksake, there's plenty of house white label 12"s like that).
It's a shame after the fantastic cover for Krafty, almost like if he couldn't be arsed to make another effort... I still hope it's not the final cover because it's so different to Krafty and in the last 20 years or so all the first singles had a look somehow related to the design of the album (especially Get Ready and Republic).
But wait! Didn't some New Order member that Saville asked wheter the apostrophe should have been placed before or after the "s" and they couldn't decide so they didn't place any??! How comes this artwork has one?!!

Wait, I've just heard the story behind this artwork: Saville had just made a white cover (after all The Beatles' White Album is one of his favourite artworks) with just the name of the band and the title written on it, like you can see at the top of the actual cover. Hooky entered the studio and asked: "Oi, but can't you add something below the fookin title?" And Saville was annoyed at him not understanding his minimalistic gesture and answered on the very cover by drawing a big "No"

for me it´s more "oh, fook it! i don´t want to do this anymore" than "oh, what can i do? i don´t have enough time". either way it´s crap. any of us can open Word, put Avant Garde and type No in orange. really, it doesn´t seem like an artistic decision of Saville. it´s more like a lack of ideas if you ask me!
I actually quite like it. But then again I've always had a penchant for the sheer boldness of post modernism. It's all a subjective thing, I hated the Krafty artwork but I like this. Odd, eh?
It actually reminds me a bit of the Haçienda / 24HPP artwork. It's very.. Factory, don't you think?
I believe Subculture was actually designed to be shit because Peter Saville boycotted - he fucking hated the single remix of the song. Or so I heard, anyway.
Wasn`t there some mention of the album cover being another blurred picture like Krafty but this time with a jet airliner taking off????
i´m thinking out loud here. what if this image is rotated and the title we see on top is actually on the left. i mean, look at the image rotating 90 degrees counter-clockwise. does it have more sense now?
gad... has Saville heard the album? I know back at the ICA Wilson said that Saville was upset with NO. And there is the difference. New Order = NO No = no!

I think it is exellent. Nobody else has cover art like this thatI can think of so it will stand out. It seems a lot of people are saying that it isn't any good. To me it seemed to have the typical New Order sense of humour to it and it is different from stuff they've done before. It's cover art, to catch people's attention, not the lost Van Gogh collection. Lots of naysayers on this site as far as New Order's new stuff(music, artwork, etc) is concerned. I'm worried New Order might be progressing to the future without their hardcore fans.
