Blatantly robbing Hank's theme...
So for me it's, ahem...Madness at Liverpool Royal Court in 1981 at the age of 13.
Not satisfied with that, I went the following year to see them at the Manchester Apollo, my 2nd gig.
Ok, so you guys can do better.......
How could I forget... first New Order gig was at the glamorous Macclesfield Leisure Centre in April '85.
My folks did drag me to see Atahra's Band when I was a kid but there's no way I'm counting that. Is it just me that this happened to?.

I saw Madness just two years ago!.... my first gig was erasure / heaven 17 at sheffield arena in 1996.

My older brother is a fan, but don't kill him yet! He's the reason i like new order. I was going to that gig to see Heaven 17 more than erasure.
Stevie boy - I'm up late every night - I do a constant back-shift mate, except for Fridays - which means I can drink all weekend;) this is why you never hear from moi during the day. I usually come on here for a bit - cheers me up after work - then watch whatever I've set the video for.

Mondays at Glasto in 1990! I'm afraid to say I hold clearer memeries of The Cure on the following night. They had to get a helicopter to lift some people out from the front who were getting crushed & stopped the show for 30 mins or so. While this was going on Robert Smith came out on stage & read out the World Cup scores, Cameroon had just beaten someone & were due to play Engerland in the QF. Not that you'd have been interested in that.
Stevie - Who was that fit backing singer who used to play with heavan 17?
My first gig must have been The Frank and Walters in the early 90's. Nobody else seemed to have heard about them, but the Corkers from Cork took the crowd by a storm. Tuneless bastards, just like me. :D
This year I only went to two concerts, but I got to see some of my long time heroes - NO and Ennio Morricone!

Cheers mate;) My uncle John and his missus took me to see New Order - he'd been into them from the start - still don't know why - I was very lucky he had a good taste in music, and he took me to fucking loads of concerts - Mondays several times - Cities in the Park - Elland Road - Spike Island - Charlatans - fuckin best years of my young life mate

First concert: KAYAK, saw them in a small venue in Vlaardingen (near Schiedam/Rotterdam). It was fantastic.
When looking through the CD's for sale in London, last October, I even noticed a few Kayak CD's being on sale there!! Oh my....

Seeing them live in Paris was a nice experience too! But it wasn't my first gig.
The first gig I went to was - ahem - U2 in june '86 (Joshua tree tour), a big outdoor gig. I had the chance though to see NO for the first time in Paris - Mutualité '87. Meanwhile, I saw the Mode (with Front242 as support!!) - for the Masses tour.
About 1983, Gary Numan in Southend. First New Order gig was RFH on 14 May 84, three days before my 18th birthday - not a bad present!

1st gig I went to was Revenge at Manc International in 1988/89 (not quite sure when), where I turned up 4 hours too early just so i could meet hooky lol
turns out he was a nice bloke, met his wife at the time too phhwwwoooarrrrr Also met Inspiral Carpets that night, which is weird as I now live down the street from 1 of them
1st New Order gig was in July of this year at Loonypool Olympia, been trying to make up for lost time since then, and have seen them 3 times on the UK tour, all pushed up right against the barrier at the front laughing my cock off at Hooky's antics
...my first gig was "The Mock Turtles", a british band who disappeared from the scene as fast as they came...
My first ever gig was also Madness at the Birmingham Odeon in 1985 followed in quick succession by, don't laugh, Lloyd Cole and the Commotions (!). Though I did redeem myself by going to see Run DMC/Beastie Boys a few weeks later.
The first gig that I went to without parents was an Areosmith/Dokken concert at Reunion Arena. I think the year was 1987.
My first NO gig was in Austin. I don't remember the exact year but they were promoting "Technique".
