Hello groovers. As we all know, the Order have produced over the years an almost unfair proportion of belters compared to mingers. Yes, the list of belters is almost endless, and yet, now and again out pops a little minger. Let us purge those demons here and now and nominate 'the track that's the most cack'! Rules: No nominations from Movement. Simply because it was recently voted worst album, so that would be too easy. None of the Salvation tracks can be nominated, as we all know they're shite anyway. No remixes. No live tracks. Apart from them you can point your shitey stick wherever you want. Closes Thursday at Muffy's bedtime, results Friday afternoon(ish).

As for cack tracks:...i am sorry i am totally confused by above message...Movement is THE Ultimate New Order album IMHO, . This outcome is probably influenced by the low average age of NOONliners and the fact that a lot of noonliners are fans since Substance!? I'm shocked and stunned, what kinda world are we lioving in?

For me, the honest milk man, it would have to be the dreadful and hugely disappointing 'Death Bed Jam Butties' from the platinum hit selling record 'Still Getting Things Ready'.

And for these few and several reasons:

a) it's shite b) it's poo c) it sounds almost dangerously close to an Electrical Light Bulb production and 4... it stinks of butties.

:hat:

other than that the entire mole hunt and saliva efforts can be thrown into the shit pit.

While certain tracks like Slow Death, Rock The Shithouse, and We All Can't Wait For It To Finish are far from top of my pops, they do have a certain appeal. For me my nomination is the truly awful Times Change from the equally awful Republic. :smoking:

I actually think Movement is pretty good Steve, especially if you listen to it at night in the dark. :smoking:

State of the pisshole.....above and beyond bad for any band to commit such an atrocity, but then again, I liked the video.

I would like to stick up for State of the Fucking Nations... its a belter. The video is me fave with that yobbo running for the bus in his bomber jacket. How people can select this ahead of Shithouse, Jam Butties or We all can't wait for it to finish is a friggin mystery.

I can't believe its not butter.

I'm afraid I disagree on that one, Muff-man, not that it's one of their best or anything, but among other things I like about it is the hurried way Bernard says the last two lines (at least as printed here).

I agree, H, State is not nearly in the same league as We All Can't Stand It or Slow James.

Hmmm I quite like we all stand. And rock the Shack. And State of the Nation.

Blast Slow Jam into fucking obscurity though for offending my ears greatly with it's inane lyrics and tuneless tune.

A few others which I don't like but like slightly more than Slow Jam:

Chemical, times Change, Guilty Partner, Avalanche, In a Lonely Place, SLY, Elegia

  1. Slow Jamboree
  2. Sub Culture
  3. Times Change
  4. Thieves Like Us

Number 4 might cause a bit of a stir but i have honestly never liked that song. It takes too long to get going and the chorus is bobbins, shouting 'it's called love' a lot out of key does not make a good song!

mario, dont despair,"movement" isnt universally hated. i like it and really i think its quite unfairly maligned. as for cackest track, muffy, you`ve opened a can of worms here, there are plenty of new order tracks that are a bit stinky if u ask me. i shall have to mull it over. early leader for the definitive cack in pants duffer though is the "subculture" 12", followed closely by the supermarket muzak of "liar".

no not at all Huntso - in fact in rather a cheerful mood today, bringing light into lives of all who cross me.

Surely Subcultures a stranger choice. I love that song. Both the album and Substance mix. Elegia and Avalanche bore me. Guilty partner annoys me. Dunno why. IALP is crap. And I just don't generally like the Republic sound.

Mario...

I think that should have probably not said the worst...but it is the most least New Order sounding album...right guys??? It is a little tentative, and why not? I mean here is Joy Division, minus Ian plus Gillian, trying to sort things out and decide just what direction to go...

While it is my least favorite, I by no means hate Movement, it's just an entirely different creature...

As for my least favorite song...hmmm...this one is probably going to have to be We All Stand...something just doesn't sound right there to me...along with Ecstasy, both seem way out of place on PCL...in my little opinion...

Disagree on three out of four, Marco.

I'm with Patty on that score. It's not normal for our Marco the Man to produce such quirky results.

Shellcock Marco?... not the greatest song but the 12" surely is a classic?!!!

:hat:

And snake... you can't convince me that you'd ever share any cheer around the place. You are the new Walter Mattheau.
