'Rocky Against the Animals' - the dichotomy of life.
In short, the montage is a visual representation of what is good, and appears to be evil in the world.
Man has always been cruel to the animals, which was never right, as the biped could have comfortably survived to its present intellectual state by gnawing on pasta, fruit and cheese. Rocky is the human, and so accordingly appears as the dominant force top left, like mans position in the world. Rocky is depicted at his most potent, or harmful, where in Rocky III he belted seven shades of blue out of Mr. T and sent him hurtling into outer space with a killer blow you couldn't even write as a passage of fiction. In certain Rocky scriptures, it has been written that Mr. T has actually passed Europa en-route to Pluto.
With man smugly stood on top of the world looking down (or outward to the carnivores) we witness the beautiful animal kingdom fidgeting for survival: the badger, a proud beast dwindling in numbers, the Spanish cockerel - a creature which put up some resistance in the 1500's but was mostly fried with chips, and the common or garden squirrel, looking away - so ashamed at the state of the earth. He simply nibbles nuts now, too afraid to contemplate sandwiches or similar pleasures once so common.
Marking the distinction between good and evil is a line in the sand, red in colour to represent the tragic blood spilt as whales were callously skewered by local fisher people at the turn of the century. Note that Rocky's gloves are specifically masqueraded in an effort to cover up man's disgraceful historic rampage across the globe; he can use his fists, but ultimately the locust will survive a nuclear attack on home soil.
And that's about it really. The guesses were fairly accurate, well played.
The numbering is simply another nod to the Rocky franchise, except it should really have said 'III' instead of 'IV', but that's a little bit of artistic licence, which I hoped people wouldn't mind.
