took me so long to reply that you already had your lyrics in Patrick - the only difference is : 'the days turn into months & years'

Could anyone of the lyricists offer a suitable explanation for this - after altering my perception of the entire song.

To me that line sounds:

"Turnin' your eyes from me, it's time for me to go. Across the hills and over the sea, I want you more than you know".

I say "turnin'" because he clearly misses a G, I'm not just listening to the Country & Western version.

Its definatly "Turn" your eyes from me, he just extends the word over 2 bars.

plus "Turnin" is 2 syllables which would sound offkey for that chorus

Personally I like the poison stare line, sounds much more like the Barney of old!

DC, I don't think I've managed in 14 years to spot a grammatical error that Pastie has performed, and that's without re-editing his posts! I have tried, and recently. I pointed out that he may have missed a 'the' or an 'or' out his post about cream cakes and it was only a few minutes later that I realised that I'd committed the biggest fatty known to wood-lice.

For a few moments, I thought my attempt to rupture his text would go unnoticed, but I was very very wrong.

There is no real moral to this tale, and I don't really have a decent punchline.

Sometimes, when I reflect on this post, I often wonder whether I should have worked just a little bit harder on the end bit.

It could have been good, I could have made it better.

Obviously Bernard had problems with this couplet we could rewrite it for him

something like 'I feel the presence of your stareyour eyes follow me everywhere'

rhymes & fits in with the sentiment

Agreed! The 'poison stare' may not make a lot of sense but it had an edge. 'In the corner over there' is, well, neither here nor there.
