Well, I'm really happy that people continue chatting about this subject. As I already said from the beginning, I'm not interested to know if NO members are gay or not (they're not very sexy recently...). You inadvertently opened Pandora's box.

You can go to the Community link on the menu bar at the top of the web page, click on the Japanese area of the soccer ball map, and browse all the profiles of the members identifying themselves as from Japan. The city should be listed if they included it in their profile.

I originally thought TRUE FAITH was about "the closet," and I also always thought both 1963 and THE PERFECT KISS both had a gay connotation b/c he was singing about guys... with "GUNS"

In the former, I originally thought he had a love affair with Johnny, who happened to shoot him down on his birthday. In the latter, I thought he believed in "the land of love" with his male friend. Foolish of me, ey?

Whatever the case, they are all great songs :)

Is the vocalist of OMD gay? Yes, he is.

He wrote "Enola Gay", about a kiss that's never gonna fade away, the feeling and the way you lied, bla, bla, bla. Is that a gay boy singing a gay song? No, it's not. It's a song about a war, about a plane, about a bomb.

So, we can have straight singers playing straight songs, straight singers playing gay songs, gay singers playing straight songs and gay singers playing gay songs.

New Order kindda emulate all of them, isn't it?

Also the fact that Saville's mob stole the image form a country and western album may preclude ths possibility of it being any of them. Farley's musings on house and it's homesexual, disco routes are well documented. I'd imagine they were well aware of the connotations of the name they chose.
