Anyone own the official TBTHOG CD single?

How many of you own the official out of print CD single of TBTHOG that came out sometime in 1988 and 1990? It's a black card board fold out jacket, and it's got the original 12" version, as well as the 12" of Temptation and the dub mix of Confusion. I picked it up sometime in 1990, at a store called Aaron Records in Hollywood.

I feel pretty special owning this, as it's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to find nowadays even on ebay! I think this is my most played and most enjoyed New Order single ever. The production on Barney's vocals and how clear his voice is as he comes out the game with "I was standing by the ocean when I saw your face I couldn't look at you.....I guess you knew it but never realized, that we we're threw."

Man....this is the song that GOT ME INTO NEW ORDER! A flawless track and a helluva rare single.

Not sure but I don't think the original 12" version is on anything else, is it?

too bad the Temptation cut is the fucking rerecording. but yeah i like the single anyway

Got it but the sleeve is very slightly worn on the edges. I hate cardboard sleeves!

Is the version on International the same as the CD single or the 8:00 early version that's found on some of the Salvation versions?

Bought it back sometime when i first got a CD player 1988.Was one of the fist CDs i owned along with the Cocteaus Pink Opaque compilation.

Irritated me back then that the "Original" mix of Temptation wasn`t Original

oh yeah,how stupid do i feel? struggling with a hangover/come down today! bm'88 was the first cd single i bought,i bought a cd player the same day it came out just to play it,remember going to marys records in accrington because there had been a tbthog cd single in the window for ages so i thought i'd get that too,it'd gone when i got there and i still don't have one!

yes it must have been,true faith didn't come out on cd single,i remember looking at a vcd single of it but i think that was a year or so later,don't take my word for it as my memory is getting as bad as bernards seems to be

i found my copy last year for a very reasonable $1.99! Still in great shape. whoever had it before me, kept it in a plastic sleeve.

i got the true faith cdv but had to order it especially so didn't get it at the time so can't say if if was the first or not.

i thought egg was the first though?

but yeah, tbthog isn't that rare

no i'm from rishton,i used to buy all my new order stuff fron astonishing sounds in blackburn,but i remember all the new order 12inches hanging from the ceiling in marys,never any imports though if i remember rightly

Low-Life album CD was pretty early - did that come out before TBTHOG ??

Anyone of you "luckier-than-me" guys can check please if is there a credit for Arthur Baker as co-writter of TBTHOG? (the best of) cd does have TBTHOG on it but it only credits Thieves Like Us as "Written by New Order & Arthur Baker". But some people here claim that somewhere there is a credit for him as co-writter... Maybe Salvation soundtrack. Well, there was the US promo CD for True Faith that was released at the time the single was released. TBTHOG was the first commercial CD single that was released simultaneously with its vinyl counterpart. Substance was released at the same time as the vinyl (although it may have been delayed by a week or two - common in those days). Can't remember when EGG CD single was issued though and no dates are given to clue us in.

So when did the True Faith cdv come out? The same time as Substance? I am pretty sure though that Touched was their first cd single.

Touched was their first official CD single, released in UK, AU and Japan in late 1987. Not long after Substance I think?

The True Faith CDV came out later than the vinyl release, 1988 or 1989 depending on who you read, although I suspect it was 1988, close to the BM88 CDV.

Someone mentioned EGG CD, that was a re-release from 1990. Similarly, the US BLT CD Maxi came out well after the event in 1994. The Facus 1981-1982 EP released on CD in Canada in 1989.

There was a nice US CD5 promo for True Faith that appeared in 1987 featuring an exclusive mix. They still fetch a decent price on eBay.
