I know everyone's whinging about the choices they're making at this year's gig, but you have to admit there's definitely method in their madness.
With HNYWD being dropped at Hurricane they're now just playing the THREE most obvious tracks from the new album - ie. the three singles (presuming WFTSC is indeed the 3rd track lifted).
Add to that the THREE most obvious single choices for the general public (and not necessarily genuine New Order fans, per se) - Blue Monday, Toothache, BLT.
Add to that the THREE most obvious Joy Division tracks - Atmos, Transmish, LWTUA25.
Then THREE songs for the 'ardcore, which still cross over into the main arena for people who don't live and breath New Order - Crystal, Regret, Temptation.
And then chuck a fast album track in the mix (Love Vigilantes) and a slow album track for their copyrighted 'chillout' section in the middle (Run Wild) and you've got a decent setlist to work from.
You know, it's almost like they actually THOUGHT this one through!
Don't expect anything to change at Hyde Park if I'm being honest, though it would be good to see SLC and KW1 re-introduced into the melting pot. Depends what their time constraints are, I guess?
