Me either. As long as the sound is crisp, clear and loud enough I don't care about the source. Did all this "keep music live" nonsense not die out in the 80's?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not that kind of person. Just 2 things:

1. I prefer when they have to push even juste on or two buttons, to give the impression that it's more open to variations

2. Of course, you can't do live everything that's on the record. But that's the point of live shows too: trying to find a way to do songs without the billion layers you can have on record, even if it means dropping some parts...

Apparently these days the point of a live show is to see puppets dance to a tape.

If the point of using prerecorded material is that they machines cannot play live ( Once again proving technology retards rather than advances, as this "impossibilty" was a reailty 20 years ago)....

Then I propse they play Barney in off tape, since he is the one who struggles hardest to do anything live.

How would that make the "tapes are OK" people feel.

Fookin' hell! As amazing of a time I had in May, had they done this in Chicago, I would have gone batshit insane. I would literally be screaming through the entire 4+ minutes. It feels like they didn't fuck off the song for....18 YEARS!! Barring the AutoCue, the guitar and bass bits were all here, and Steve has never been sharper..

If there's a God, I pray someone taped this and it will be thrown into the NYC DVD (also if they dust off some other classics as well)

There's something pretty hilarious in the current ongoing threads, if you think of it. There's debate about which songs are overrated and so many things. As it has been said, the New Order fan is a pretty difficult one.

But in the same time, lots of these people who demand so much of their favorites bands can't be arsed about if they play live or if it's just monkeys starting tapes.

It's a bit : don't mind if they mime all thay songs from star to end, as long as they change the setlist...
