There Warners, how's that for saving money? Now give yourselves a 10% Christmas bonus and DELIVER MY SINGLE ON CD and 2x12"!!!!

I second that one

They should use the Mac Quayle vocal mix instead of the album version.

I agree with that as well. The MAJOR piece of art in relation to New Order IS the songs after all and even if they put out the CD single/12"s in a brown paper bag I'd fooking buy it still.

Strangely enough, I prefer the Album Version over the Mac Quayle one. I am so proud of New Orde for coming up with a solid dance tune on their own. I could play it in the club just as it is.

Of course, I'm not shelling out $30 for a 2xLP of "Waiting For The Sirens' Call" but you get my drift.

(I don't own CDJ's so I don't mix with CDs)

I shelled out the money for the LP and it was worth it...

I love the orig GIAUE I've already played it at SOL which was met with great response...Some actually thought it was a remix.

yeeaaahh!!!

Well it is christmas time.

I thought they would never do a XMAS release.

Next we'll see a track called "It's xmas in Manchester"

Not interested in buying subpar digital media. Guess I'll go without! Deffo wouldn't mind this on CD or CD-R, but c'est la vie, non?

I think next UK single "Turn" will feature GIAUE remixes as coupling tracks.

Kaiser X - I like it - a little bit of colour never hurt anyone.

We are shipping our third single "Guilt Is A Useless Emotion" to clubs this week. The track was produced by Stuart Price who also worked on the upcoming Madonna album.

We will release two digital maxi singles in the US on 11/29.

Guilt Is A Useless Emotion DMD (DJ VERSION)

Album Version 5:36 DJ Dan Club Mix 8:05 Bill Hamel Vocal Mix 8:39 Blueplate Vox 7:30 Morel's Pink Noise Mix 7:49 Mac Quayle Extended Mix 7:57

Guilt Is A Useless Emotion DMD (Consumer Version)

Album Version 5:36 DJ Dan Club Mix edit (timing tbd) Bill Hamel Vocal edit (timing tbd) Blueplate Vox edit (timing tbd) Morel's Pink Noise edit (3:56) Mac Quayle Vocal Mix 6:27

Since I received my CD in the mail today, I thought I would update this.

Catalog Number is PRO-CDR-101687

Here are the track times:

  1. Album Version 5:36
  2. DJ Dan Club Mix 8:05
  3. Bill Hamel Vocal Mix 8:39
  4. MARK!'s True N.O. Vox 7:30
  5. Morel's Pink Noise Mix 7:49
  6. DJ Dan Mixshow 6:09
  7. Mac Quayle Extended 7:57
  8. Morel's Pink Noise Dub 7:19
  9. MARK!'s True N.O. Dub 7:30

Total Running Time: 1 Hour, 6 minutes and 45 seconds.

I am listening to the CD as we speak and once I get done, I'll try and get a mini-review up of my impression of the tracks. I do like the Bill Hamel mix thus far.

But based on the original tracklisting that Spotnick put up, it looks like the Blueplate mix became the MARK!'s True N.O. Vox. It also looks like a few tracks may be exlusive (DJ Dan Mixshow, Morel's Pink Noise Dub and MARK!'s True N.O. Dub). Wonder when the updated release info will hit ITunes, etc.

I have nothing against the progression to digital downloads and also own an iPod but what I would like the online stores to do is offer optional lossless versions of the tracks for purchase. Sure the files would be much bigger (i.e. 50MB for a 5 minute track) but just about everyone has broadband and bigger hard disks these days. I'd never be off the online stores if they offered lossless quality but the way things stand iTunes and Napster have alot to learn; the 128kbps quality is shit and for the moment I'll always prefer a CD release over overzealously protected M4P files.

I completely agree. I'm in the same league as you. I don't buy anything from iTunes, unless it's something I want and can't get anywhere else (i.e. some of those iTunes originals). I've already left feedback about the sound quality and suggested that those music fans who care about sound quality should be offered a full quality wav file as an alternative. I would even be willing to pay a bit more for the higher quality! That's why I think 99 cents for a highly compressed file is absolutely ridiculous.

This is getting really stupid. What rubbish format will they come up with next? Only available on shellac cylinders? Only as sheet music that you have to play yourself? And if they want to make us pay for our own cdrs and packaging, could they at least make full cd quality SHN or similar available instead of crappy compressed mp3? Personally I intend NEVER to pay for mp3s under any circumstances.

Shellac? Sheet music to play yourself?  F*cking hilarious! I totally agree!

I just got my copy in the mail today from Record Runner and I have to say that I'm VERY pleased with the mixes. They are just the right thing to play when you wanna step it up a notch and get the house kids moving a little faster.

Each mix has it's own appeal, I feel they are equally good. (MARK!'s True N.O. Mix) has a melody patch that references 'Blue Monday' and that was pretty cool. (Morel's Pink Noise Mix) is awesome too. His own stuff I could take or leave but he has done some excellent work for New Order over the last 4 years. The (Album Version) really stands up well against these mixes, I might add.

Also, I really enjoyed the dubs, Morel's especially. I know the purists are rolling their eyes now.

Y'all should get a copy of this disc, it's really good.

Let's hear some more reviews.....

Guys,

I'm waiting on my copy turning up and will be happy to contribute then. In the meantime the number of copies out there is growing and the price correspondingly falling. I search ebay for "Guilt is a useless Emotion" and came up with a raft of sources and the most was 20$ for sale by dexterphillups and the cheapest just 5$ Get in there guys, and may I add, well done for waiting... Cheers

as long as everyone knows how easy it is to duplicate these types of promos...am i the only one who thinks its a bit odd that so many have made it to Ebay so quickly? there's an endless flow of these Guilt CDR's...i'm sure i'm not the only one thinking some of those being sold are bootlegs. some are certainly going to be genuine, but there's no way of knowing if you got a "real promo" or a duplicate.
