the one i have and the ones i've seen on eBay aren't cd-rs. they're pressed silver CDs. not that that confirms their authenticity...but if some of them are boots, at least they're a little nicer than a homemade job made by some twit.

Yup, the one I got (and by the looks of it, the ones on ebay) are not CDR's, and looks like a proper promo to me.

I would guess that Warners have actually made quite a few copies of these, which a whole load of record shops have accumulated, ready for selling on ebay!

They do seem to be a bit more common than True Faith 2001 (same style 'artwork' - i.e. standard Warners promo design).

Which is a GOOD thing - saved me a bundle if only a couple had turned up on ebay! :thumb: :smoking:

yeah, i realize the discs aren't blue or gold, that's not the point, you can get hte silver discs and high quality printing directly onto the disc. i've never seen so many promos turn up so quickly. unless they sent 10 copies to every record shop with an ebay department, some of those listed are high quality copies. it really doesn't matter in the long run, cuz it's the music we want and not the 'rarity', right?

I just can't wait 'till this charts on the Billboard Club Play chart - wonder how high it's gonna go.

Still, I wish they'd do a proper CD Single and 2x12".

In my dreams, they's do a 3x12" of WFTSC (with the Tribute Mix and all on it) and a 3x12" of GIAUE (with the Junior Sanchex remixes etc.) on it.

Though I have a better chance of getting struck by lightning.

I want the GIAUE mixes on vinyl, dammit!

Great set of mixes, really - best since 'Someone Like You'.

Checking iTunes to see if GIAUE was out before I headed out for work, and it is...with edited versions. :(

I just hope that by the time I get home today, the full versions are up.

They did this for Depeche's Precious but released the full versions first.

Anybody have any more insight on whether or not we will see the digital release with full versions today?

according to the initial press release, we will not see the long versions....they only go to 'dj's'.....of course, that press release really didnt make sense anyway.

I suspect the record company may be doing some kind of marketing tests using NO as a subject, to see how different release methods are effective.....I think they should just F off.

by the way, that's a cute bunny-in-the-wild on the guilt page at itunes

I'm going to try and download it at the weekend; this will be my first venture into i-Tunes... hopefully by then any download problems will be sorted and I'll have some nice lovely mixes of GIAUE to burn off an crank up in my stereo...

such a shame that there is so much discussion and not the availability ;(

Anyway I can offer my thoughts on the first two mixes which I have now listened to and inwardly digested.

In short, excellent. The DJ Dan mix betrays his djing heritage. the baseline is strong but I like the fact the song is still there. (He actually did a top remix of DM's Precious recently) As for the Hamel Vocal, this is another interesting intepretation although it truer to the original I feel.

Am really looking forward to the rest ;)

Yes, the iTunes (US only) details are as below:

  1. Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (5:37)
  2. Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (DJ Dan Club Mix Edit) (5:00)
  3. Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (Bill Hamel Vocal Edit) (5:01)
  4. Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (Mark!'s True N.O. Vox Edit) (5:03)
  5. Guilt Is A Useless Emotion (Morel's Pink Noise Edit) (4:05)

Of course, I can't actually buy any of the songs, as I don't like in the US! :p

Saville must've been at that one for a few months

Or I presume that cover is the result of a Warner employee and Paint Shop Pro?

Got my promo CD today, and I can confirm that the mixes are bloody excellent - even the dubs! I suspect we'll see some of these on the UK CDs of 'Turn'. As someone said, best mixes since 'Someone Like You', and a shame it's not getting a kosher single release with a radio edit of the album version.

If UK DJs get as excited about the remixes as some are here, the buzz may tempt London into releasing a conventional single.

We can only hope that's the case, Depthy unless one of the Oz Order lands a promo CD off Ebay and feels generous enough to let the rest of us "preview" the tracks as well. My Bastardcard is a bit maxed-out pre-Xmas so I can't put up a really decent bid myself:cry:

I hate to sound daft, but this just lends credibility to the fact that I've never downloaded music:

I don't know how to e-mail the tracks to you. E-mail me and maybe you can help me out or we can trade. I never use my PC to listen to music so I'm kinda lost.
