Did anyone happen to notice that New Order were nominated for a Grammy? They are nominated for Best Dance Recording for Guilt is a Useless Emotion.

Although the Grammies are a hack, it's nice to see them actually acknowledge EDM in its foray of commercial nods to the music industry. Kraftwerk is nominated too? Brilliant. This should raise their credibility somewhat...

They better give that bitch to New Order, man. All those other tracks bite the big one - the most trendsetting, illest track on that list is GIAUE - please don't buy into the LCD Soundsystem hype. All the hipsters in Jacksonville, FL think they are the bomb. Fu**in' hipsters.

Finally, they got nominated for a Grammy! I hope they win. NO has been in existence for over 25 years. Let's hope their Godlike Genius earns them a victory! :D

I can't get my head around how it got nominated. Not like it's their strongest work. Did Warners shmooze the right industry execs then rush out the US DMD so it would qualify?

Incidentally, last year's winner in this category: Britney Spears "Toxic".

Does anybody know if GIAUE has charted in the Billboard Club Play chart? My local paper prints the Top 10 every week but I wondered if they've made it into the lower 40 positions.

I'm a bit dissapointed they've been nominated for a grammie. The grammies are a joke. They don't nominate the best records, but the most politically acceptable ones so the recording industry can have a big publicity-fest. If you look at the grammy winners over the years it's a long list of mediocrity that with hindsight is almost comical.

It is ironic though, after almost 30 years of being one of the most critically acclaimed bands in the world they get a token grammy nod for one of their most throwaway tracks. They actually have a chance of winning though, the competition isn't too stiff.

I'd like to see them win if for no other reason so they can get up on stage and say something lippy!

Nah, I'm just a long-time NO fan and long-time and lazy Ceremony and NOOL member. I was just surprised that it wasn't on the front page when I started up Firefox. I figured something must be amiss so posted it myself.

I'm kinda happy about it. Doubt they'll win though. It does seem like one of those "oh we've passed you over for decades, let's throw you a bone" nominations.

About time i say. Even if it's not their best record it does not matter. Someone obviously thinks it is ( a worthy nomination) and if it gets them an award, then that's all that matters.

Think of it as recognition for all the songs that have never been nominated, but that should have.
