Actually, I used to think most of Republic was shit and now ... er, nope, it's still mostly shit. 
For me there are no obscure NO songs. They are all great in some way. Maybe just for just a few seconds, but never the less!

Hi, a little about me first - 16 year old New Order fan with all their albums.
Some of my favourite "obscure" songs -
Mr. Disco - Just relentless, a great dance track, up there with Round & Round for pure energy. Special - The drumbeat, tinkly keyboard, strings at the end and especially the way Barney sings "Stop saying that your calling time" - so cool. Sooner Than You Think - "Do you knoooow what I mean?" I reckon you do.
Look, I'm only 16, and I have no idea whether these were popular or well-known songs! I just chose them cos they're way down the songlists on their albums.

Don't Do It. My favourite New Order instrumental* (what? Even better than Avalanche? Darn tootin') and probably in my top ten NO tunes of all time.
Why? Harpsichords, plaintive guitar and orchestral stabs backed up by too-loud drums. Awesome, moving and possibly a little bit stupid too - a bit like Love Vigilantes in those respects, and indeed a lot like the best of NO's career macrocosmically.
Hope it's obscure enough...
* I exclude newsreel samples, sampled TV dialogue and sampled and reversed dialogue from the exorcist. Lleh ni skcoc kscus rehtom ruoy, indeed.

And btw, I loved ALL of Republic. It was the first NEW New Order album I bought (I got nto them in '91) and I really love that record. Special and Chemical are good songs, man.

Obscure New Order is my favourite New Order, simply because I haven't heard it fifty million thousand frikkin times...
Cries & Whispers, Mesh, Peter Saville Show Soundtrack (goes on for a half hour but never gets boring), Haystack, Evil Dust, I also like that live recording of the Ostrich and Sister Ray (the only listenable track on the BBC live album)...
...and Turn the Heater On and Such a Good Thing (one of the best songs they've ever done thrown away as a b-side), and the Hacienda Christmas single (I downloaded that once, the sound quality was so poor you could barely make it out but it was weird and funny)
fine time for me is their most obscure moment. technique would still be an amazing record without it, although even shorter than it already is. one would think it would have made an amazing non-album single, as it could have easily stood on its own. however, at the same time, it fits in nicely on technique and provides an excellent soundtrack to what the band was hearing in ibiza at the clubs round that time.
i just thought for a lead off single and the lead off track on the album it defined new order's obscurity and really took me for a loop when i first heard it in 1989(since the prior three singles - blt, true faith and tbthog were definitely more accessible than fine time, at the time).
