has to be "special" for me love the intro and the lyrics, brings back memories of going night fishing! at least thats what my mum thought i was doing!:)
Not that obscure but Avalanche from Republic is one i enjoy.Most peeps seem to dismiss it but i rate it

Wow, I'm thankful for that. I actually was worried that the song was really an "antiwar" song, but that I wasn't hearing it. Glad NO feels that way towards us, seems that most of the music world has something negative to say towards us. Thanks for that info Wasim.

they first started playing it again in australia just before all that iraq stuff went down. at least that's how i recall it. it may be a song about asoldier, but it ain't pro war.

I went to a game at Port Vale with a QPR mate a few years ago...the prematch drink with the locals was one of the most pleasant ones I've enjoyed. Apart from when they offered to show me the house in which a certain famous local figure was born.

Sorry mate, I do apologise - said local celeb was Robbie Williams, the only famous Vale fan I know of (other than Phil Taylor I guess) - anyway - I just wasn't interested in him!!
I've always liked Vicious Circle (NewOrder mix) which is obscure as in it's only found on the pretty rare Ruined in a day cassette single. Everyone'll probably know the Mike Haas mix from the CD single but the NewOrder mix is the original tune (or demo) as the band recorded it plus their only b-side from the Republic era. I just think it's a quality little dance tune; nothing too deep or heavy. It also manages to sample Marshall Jefferson's 'Move You Body' briefly nicking his "Gotta have house music!" lyric. It's miles better than MTO anyway.
Another obscure fave would be Let's Go (Waiting For So Long) which never got an official release. I have the same grainy sounding bootleg recording as everyone else and can't help but think it would've been a very popular track if they'd bothered their arses to release it The version we got in the end (Nothing For Me) wasn't too bad though.

MTO definitely! Cries out for an extended mix,not the one on RUN 2 12",though I don't mind it in a ten pint trance. 
I would probably put Skullcrusher (live not studio) somewhere between 10-20 if I were ranking my favorite NO tracks so I guess that would have to count. The lyrics from the Paradiso '84 are quintessential Barney! Mundane travel details, pretentious death references, instructions for the soundman, and of course the word "cunt". Beautiful. I also get a kick out of Turn the Heater On and Don't Do It.
Behind Closed Doors. Never paid much attention to the lyrics, but the music is great.
Brutal is quite good, too.
Actually, those two songs are amongst my favourites of the Get Ready era.
Sub-Culture - Exclusive Remix
Not sure where the hell it came, but I got in that "Out of Order" bootleg. Sub-Culture is pretty much my favorite track off Low-Life, but that John Robie single mix is overkill. The Exclusive Remix kept the original vocals and groove of the song intact.

I kind of consider that Ambeint mix of Ruined in a Day like a second b-side, as it's a drastically different sounding version with virtually no vocals, similar to MTO being a different take on Fine Time.
