and Siamese Dream was the Pumpkins' second album. Gish was their first proper album...and their best, too! so it does fit in well in this thread...

I won't waste too much space agreeing with some of the artists nominated earlier (The Stone Roses, The Charlatans, Bjork, De La Soul, The Housemartins, Massive Attack, Daft Punk, The La's, Oasis, Electronic) but here are a few that I haven't seen mentioned yet:

Baby Ford - Ford Trax (if you haven't heard of Peter "Baby" Ford he was a pioneer of acid house and techno whose late 1980's albums should be on any dance magazine's list of great dance albums) Nirvana - Bleach The Orb - Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld (proper chillout, not the MoS version) Manic Street Preachers - Generation Terrorists Foo Fighters - Foo Fighters Black Grape - It's Great When You're Straight...Yeah (am I alone in thinking it's better than all the Mondays' albums put together?) The Bluetones - Expecting To Fly Gomez - Bring It On Basement Jaxx - Remedy The Streets - Original Pirate Material (I know there's been a lot of hype about it but it genuinely is a brilliant album)

By the way, on the trainspotter front "Moon Safari" wasn't Air's debut album - "Premiers Symptomes" came out first but was re-released with extra tracks after Moon Safari became a hit.

I found your Brummy accent to be a very soft one so i'd have no probs working out the special requests you'd be crying out for once i'd gotten into full flow! ;)

In what way is "Blue Lines" suckworthy? I happen to believe that "Protection" is the best Massive Attack album (it's more varied) but "Blue Lines" is almost as good.

Don't you like Cuckoo? I think half of it ROCKS!! (Missing Link - single version and Trent Reznor remix - is still my fave Curve song of all time - it kicks ass!) As for "Gub" - Pigface frustrate me cos they always wallop out LPS in a specific sequence: a studio one, then a live one, then another studio one, then a remix one, then another live one, and then another studio one...etc - to date I still have yet to find FIVE of their albums!! - if "Welcome To Mexico....ASSHOLE!!" is allowed to be counted as their second LP, I'd vote for that! One of the most shambolically brilliant live albums of all time!! "Fook", however, pales in comparison with their next (third) studio album - "NOTES FROM THEE UNDERGROUND" which remains my most-played Pigface album...EVER! Sheer psychotic beats'n'loops sandblasted genius!! I wish i could be amongst the people who contribute to Pigface - I need to drop Martin Atkins a line - it would be my dream come true to play in that collective- Oh yes!!

i have to say too, i really rate Cuckoo pretty highly. in fact, i was often convinced it was my theme album for a very long time. not that Doppelganger is bad...quite the contrary. but i really do like Cuckoo quite a lot. dammit.
