I was wondering what u guys would consider the best gig ever done by New Order and what was their worst ever?
What's ur own best gig ever seen by them or worst?

probably not the best EVER
but the best one i have been to, and i've been to a fair few, would be wembley arena in october 06
it was just class 
i didn't enjoy the liverpool summer pops 2006 show that much
but that wasn't really due to the band, it was cos of the security!
Best: either Birmingham 86 or Newcastle 06 Worst: NEC 89 was shite to me, Finsbury Park wasn't much better either 87 or 02

Judging from the bootleg and DVD, I thought both shows were good. Then again I wasn't there, so

Worst probably Newcastle Mayfair 1986 or Wembley 1987
Looking back, Dublin 93' was canny just cos of what it represented after the 'gap away'and i quite liked N'castle 06' (not cos of regional bollocks though,good day sesh & Engerland footy), also B'ham June 84' (too young) but a good smattering of Movement songs, quality abuse off Barney (You f**k-off, infact your a c*nt, if you want to come back stage afterwards.... classic 
Good to read all of this but i was wondering (or forgot to ask at first actually) if you all could tell why the gig was great or shite...

I was at the Wembley 87 gig and I can confirm it was shite. This was not the bands fault though. It was a sit down gig and when NO went on stage about 50 people jumped out of their seats and ran up to the front. They were all thrown out by the bouncers. Also, the acoustics were terrible. There was a shocking echo off the back wall so you could hear an audible echo from every beat Steve played.
I was also at the Finsbury Park 87 gig in the tent and I thought that was pretty good actually.
But my favourite must be Brixton Academy 87(?) - the one videoed -actually I'm sure you can see my hand in the video as we were right in front of the camera down by the stage.
Best: Fuji Rock Fes 2001
Worst: Fuji Rock Fes 2005 (too large stage for them, boring set list, bad weather)
Best one for me...Wembley last October...since I had heard it was a shit venue, I wasn't expecting a whole hell of a lot...and I was rather put off with all those JD choons at the beginning...but by the end of the night, I was fucking ecstatic...finally getting to hear TPK live...
Worst...hmmm...I'm probably gonna have to go with the Area:One gig in Mountain View...furthest I'd ever been from the band, and to have that wanker Billy Smashingpumpkin around really didn't do anything for me...
there are two gigs that I don't remember due to intoxication...so they might have been worse, but I can't comment on that!!!

Birmingham 86 was just amazing, great performance, great atmosphere, great setlist, the band were on a real high. Newcastle 06 was just a brilliant night, and the band were excellent, better than Wembley 06 for me. Athens 06 was also fantasic, the resurrection of TPK was so unexpected.
The NEC 89 was a mare, the Technique songs sounded crap live, I got battered to fuck down the front and some twat stubbed a cig out on the back of my head. Finsbury 87 was just a really boring mundane gig, hated the setlist and expected more from them to be honest, and Finsbury 02 was just shite, the only good bit about that day was the pub beforehand, the gig was desperate and so was the weather. Wembley 87 was better than that by comparison, even if the band were flat and so was the atmosphere.

Best for me was a combination of Woolwich Coronet and the above mentioned Brixton Academy gig in '87. They played two almost entirely different sets in three days i think. Ahh, those were the days.
Worst? thought they hit a low in Bournemouth, last year.

Finsbury 87. Probably one of the most hostile atmospheres I've ever experienced at a gig. Kicked off from the Mondays onward (Bez refusing to leave the stage!) and the front barriers buckled when ACR played Sounds Like Something Dirty. Brilliant from start to finish, and it's not often that I get intimated at a gig! Didn't seem to matter what the Order played that night, it was kicking off all over the shop! Wunderbar!
Wembley 87 was dire though, I thought. 4 of us sat in a different postcode to the band, and then the rest of my lot all over the venue but none of those within even eyeballing distance of us after we'd all assumed we'd be bunched up down the front. Hated it from start to finish. Just couldn't get my head round fcuking seats!
Comeback gigs are always good - Dublin 93, Apollo 98, then again at the Apollo in 2001 when the previous gigs that year (even Liverpool) hadn't been all that. Peel gig was also one the best nights out in recent years, the footage of 'Warsaw' still gives me goosepimples to this day!
Think most of my good gig experiences come from the atmosphere and personnel and not so much from the band themselves. And the worst gig memories are always of dire audience participation: particularly in the US and Oz. Didn't really matter what the Order pulled out of the hat, I don't think the majority have been particularly interested at the bigger gigs in those countries.

Agree with Jarvo about Finsbury '87, it was my first NO gig and was an absolute riotous experience. Lorraine had to bail out soon as Love Vigilantes started and how i managed to hold my own in the mosh pit for the duration i'll never know. The chaos that ensued on the playing of Face Up, AOC, Sub-Culture and Sunrise had to be seen to be believed. The only other gig that rivalled this one for atmosphere for me was G-Mex '88.
Most disappointing was as stated previously by others, Wembley '87 or Brum '89. Being seated at a NO gig is just a no no and while they at least played the likes of Ceremony at Wembley and encored with LWTUA and Sister Ray the atmosphere was just dire. Brum'89 didn't even have the bars open!
Best was also the first, Glasgow Plaza '81. They just had an amazing presence to them and to be honest, they still retained a lot of the Joy Division aura at that point. It's hard to imagine now but information was so sparse then that I had no idea what they really looked like or whether they'd really got a girl in to replace Ian.
I enjoyed seeing them every other time after that but it was never quite the same as that very first time.

Well Mr. Jarvis, you know we just don't know how to do proper concerts here in the States, with all those fucking seated venues...and the one lass that was whining because her little group had gotten "their space" as soon as they got in and then we all surged right fucking past her at the Oakland show in 2005...fucking sniveling little twat...oh...they're touching us...that one wasn't TOO bad...now that I think about it!!!

Doncaster was for me just a great atmosphere, great set etc. Wembley 2006 was an exexpected set list and a great performance by the band.
Newcastle Mayfair 1986 was not the greatest performance, atmosphere etc. Wembley 1987... I think this gig has been discussed in numerous threads in the past!!
I have to agree, at the end of the day it is your personal experience. The Peel gig was the first gig since the 80's where the set list took me by complete suprise (Shadowplay and Warsaw) so that does rate highly for recent gigs.

Oakland was probably the best experience Stateside, but the likes of Coachella or Hammerstein were just horrible.
Call me morbid, call me pale. but I've never really enjoyed the more hostile ones. I'd rather watch the gig than having it kick off in front of me, or behind me, whatever. I used to go to see the band, not to get in a swedge. Could do that any night at home without forking out for a ticket and travel. Since 2001 the social has been the most important aspect, then the band. It is quite amusing to see the same guys who were kicking shit out of each other 20 years ago now all standing together in the boozer and reminiscing though, and the Hyde Park Dads Army moshpit was one to savour ;)

Still don't see how you could qualify Finsbury 87 as either 'boring' or 'mundane' - thought that was a prime example of the band at the very peak of their powers.

Forgot to mention this one. The comeback to end all comebacks (and they'd only been away for one year!).
One of the silliest moshes in history but didn't have the spiteful undercurrent (nor all day drinking!) of Finsbury the year before!

Yes I'd agree Liverpool was the worst NO gig I've been to, thanks to the security and not NO's performance!
My 'best' one is a toss up between Wembley '06 and Manchester Apollo '05 - they were totally brilliant those nights IMO. Cheers!

finsbury park 87 was the first and only time my wife made the mosh pit,, quite an enjoyable time as was wembley 87,
my fave though seem to be liverpool state 83,, they just hit a vibe that night.
lots of other highlights ,,best encore ,,wembley 87,, bristol 84( 2 fer chrissakes)
worst was either cheltnam or chippenham ,,84 they were crap,, got pissed,, they were still crap.. enjoyed it though.
though the best/worse could yet be to come
