I just remembered why the common consensus is that this gig was a little lacklustre. Its cos we were all sober. If I remember they weren't serving beer here. No alcohol at all. Summink to do with it being a Bank Holiday weekend i think I got told by a steward.

I loved Finsbury 02. Got absolutely covered in mud, soaked, banned from my hotel . . . other than that, thought it was fab!

Liverpool "summer pops" was by far worst for me . . . Poor Rocket Mick got snatched from right in front of me and ejected!

Yes I'd agree Liverpool was the worst NO gig I've been to, thanks to the security and not NO's performance!

My 'best' one is a toss up between Wembley '06 and Manchester Apollo '05 - they were totally brilliant those nights IMO. Cheers!

Worst - Personally Wolves 06. Just didn't get into it - fed up that the madness of the tour was all over.

Special mention for Summerpops for spoiling a brilliant pre-gig mood, although one of the best ever gig moments when Hooky reminded us all that he's still a punk at heart!

Nope, I had a great time all day too - and didn't even have the pleasure of scuffling with the security!!

I'm increasingly of the opinion that these things are totally subjective to the point of being meaningless: Col says above that he didn't enjoy the Wolves show when for me it was the best date of the tour (that I attended, anyhows). Lots of people slate Finsbury '02 yet, even though I broke me fucking arm, I really enjoyed that one too.

Go figure.

I've only been to about 11 New Order gigs, but every one has been sooperb! Course I've always been wankered but I really couldn't say any have been bad

thought hyde park 2005 was all over the place, then went and saw them in brixton same year, just pure awesome

Musically, Summerpops was great.

Just didn't like the having a bastard shining a torch in my eyes every five minutes, asking to see my ticket and lobbing people out for enjoying themselves.

I spent most of Wolves sitting at the bar with Al. Had a cracking time in that 80's disco after the gig though.

Then the worst taxi ride of my life the next morning.

Edit: Summerpops 07 is at Aintree Racecourse and has nobody with fans worth warning about the crappy security.

Maybe the change of venue will improve things anyway.

As Fradders says, it's totally subjective. I've great memories of Summer Pops. Me and the burd arrived just as they were taking the stage and got about four rows from the front without any hassles from security and despite having a ticket for right up the back

It was the first time I'd seen 'em since Peel Day and I thought they played a great set. I also enjoyed stumbling across a smaller tent near the toilets where there were two very accomodating stewards who let me use their "facilities" in return for a share of my stash and gave us a big fat joint to take away with us (pity I don't smoke hash!).

The taxi ride to John Lennon Airport at 4AM (after zero sleep) and the subsequent flight to Rome on World Cup Final day were quite heavy lowlights.

that one was a bit weird, had the photo pass for first three songs & was then able to stroll around the front to my front row seat & continue to take pictures. no mosh pit so atmosphere was different - it was like the difference in watching a bad match standing up compared to a good one sat down - you enjoy the ones where you stand more than when you sit as the atmosphere makes the gig/ match more then.
