I want this DVD, have just ordered it from Amazon UK and the mother in law will bring it with her when she comes to visit. She leaves on Friday, the dvd might not reach her in time?

Hi Niel. No thanks but I'll save the cash and extract the audio from the DVD and make my own CD (isn't technology marvelous!) I ordered Live In Glasgow for 12.99 (sorry my aussie keyboard has no pound sign) and Control for 6.99 and payed a bit extra for fast delivery. So far, I have had notification that Control has shipped but Live In Glasgow to be sent seperately!. WTF, they both show as 'in stock'.

He's making an important point there, though: it is really bright in Boots. I find it terribly oppressive.

The time I spend in Boots is the only time I feel free.

Archive footage is brilliant!
Glasgow footage is brilliant!
Phil does play keyboards on WJ and GIAUE.
Barney's comment about a bird shitting on his shoulder is ace.
In the early 81 archive footage...never realised that Hooky and Barney dressed so well....and were, quite honestly...handsome!

I always thought that Barney was handsome and cute until the comeback in 1998. He was still cute in 1998, but lost his handsomeness.
I like the footage from Glasto 81. Amusing to see one of the biggest bands in Britain at that time turning up in a Ford Cortina. Those songs work so much better live than they do on Movement
Is it me or do New Order (in their smart trousers and shirts and neat hairstyles) look like they are from a different planet/timezone compared with all the hippy longhairs at the Glastonbury Fayre 81 ?
A shame the sartorial elegance went out the window by the time of the mid 80s footage. Barneys tight shorts and t-shirts etc - or maybe the weather was just a bit hot for long trousers in foreign climes.
found some streaming bits of the Glasgow concert. I must wait for The DVD from Amazon-Looks great though.

In the late JD and early New Order years, the band dressed really sharply. sharp trousers, dress shirts, v necked sweaters with ties, Fred Perry polo shirts, sharp shoes....I love Barneys haircut in the Celebration and Glastonbury 81 footage, great hair cut. I didn't know Barney dyed his hair black! Hooky and Stephen looked sharp as well.
I dont know what happened. I think thier fashion low point was the Republic era though..
probably they were influenced by the attire in those NYC discos, hence the new clothing around 83.

I dunno - the Technique period (great as it was) saw the band dressed head to toe in Joe Bloggs baggy gear.

More thoughts on the DVD...
The versions of Temptation and TPK on the Glasgow disc are SUPERB! Tons of energy from band and audience, great show light, Barney and Hooky rocking out. The performance of Temptation on here is IMHO the best version of it out of 3 16 5 11 and this DVD.
I think Who's Joe? sounds brilliant live, really great vocals from Barney and good guitar work. Krafty sounds superb as well.
True Faith sounds great but is a little sloppier in terms of performance than it is on 3 16 and 5 11.
WFTSC sounds great, and YSF is stunning. Crystal is storming as always.
GIAUE actually sounds pretty good live, I think. The crowd seems to be pretty into it. Actually, the crowd seems to be pretty into all of the WFTSC songs, which is great.
TPK and BM are both brilliant......the performance and light show on both is excellent and all four of the guys seem really into it. I love the shot at the end where you can see Barney Phil and Steve all playing keyboards.
The band look really sharp, all dressed in back. Who made the polo shirt that Barney is wearing? I like his joke about a bird having shit on it.
On the second disc...
The 81 footage is brilliant! As is the 83 and 85 footage.
I love on the Toronto footage, when they do Age of Consent. Storming version of Age of Consent...which....
Segues right into Temptation! Yes! I love that you can see Gillian start Temptation on the Yamaha sequencer. She hits the start at exactly the right time. :)
the 89 footage is good....
Not sure about the o5 Wireless footage....certainly they did better songs that that at the show....
I would have liked some stuff from 93 and 98 as well, and also perhaps JET and BM from the Hammerstein 05 show.
All in all though, brilliant DVD and well worth the money!
The older footage looks amazing. The quality is fabulous, and the extra bits before the old Glastonbury concert are funny.
For the Yanks in New England, Newbury Comics has this on sale for $12.99. I couldn't believe a double disc was this cheap (doubt we'll get off this easily for the upcoming remasters!)
Picked it up at Best Buy for $14.99, two copies on the shelf, yay!!

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! ICB is amazing live, give Steve the Best Drummer in the Universe Award NOW! Love the band's style here, Barney rockin the JD look, Gillian's hair-don't, Hooky being an anti-social bastard, Steve being a Drum-Bot 5000.
And the Glastonbury bits haven't come on yet.
