Just picked up the 3 disc version. Bought mainly for the archive performances. Gave it a cursory glance on the work PC - yep, the Glastonbury pre-gig footage was interesting in itself, maybe 'only' 27 years ago but certainly another age, a bit poignant seeing the band, the crowds, the remnant hippy collective, the innocence etc. A very good compilation is disc 2 in itself.

I bought it for Run Wild -- funny they put this on a official dvd! --, but it is overall very good. Worth the buying. It is nice to see a normal behaving mr Sumner at the Glasgow gig. His kids will be proud.
Is this actually available in the shops? Will I be able to pick it up at HMV tommorrow?

But since I loathe hmv.co.uk, I decided to play safe and buy it instore...

Watching the Glasgow disc as i type.I am devastated that they won't be playing again as New Order.Watching this brings back so many good memories.Just glad to have shared the best years of my life following and listening to this great band.

watching it for the first time right now. after just one viewing of 1963, something appeared off to me. i too think the audio is the studio version and i think some of the video shots of barney have been looped/repeated. lastly there are a few occassions when the words he's singing don't even come close to matching the lyrics we're hearing.
wonder what the behind the scenes story is on this? i'm not complaining at all, but surely they had multiple sources for material form the '89 US tour. wonder why they settled for this? or didn't go for something from '87 instead?
all-in-all, this is a great release. would love to see many more just like it from the order!

Ironically, the sound quality on the Technique songs is a good deal worse than the even earlier mid-80s performances; what's that all about? Minor point though, good to see some footage rather than none at all.
Yers right the vocal on 1963 must indeed be the studio recording.Only watched it once so far but on first play it did seem a bit too professional a live vocal by his usual standards.And yeah agree the sound quality on the earlier live stuff is superior to the later stuff.Can't grumble though.Sooperb DVD.

I've saved the Glasgow gig for Saturday night when a couple of mates o' mine are coming round to my house for a few beers, bit of scran and then when the sun goes down getting the bastard on the ol' HD Tv to enjoy it as it is when it was. Shouldbegood.
I really liked hearing the stuff circa 1985 and after but the early 80's stuff does make me realise how much they have come on in terms of performing.
Loved the Glastonbury footage but it looked like how I remembered it in '99. Has it changed much then?

Glasgow gig is not very special, colours: blue, red and black. I prefer the Wireless Festival. Beautiful filmregistration, beautiful colours. Especially She Lost Control when it's raining in the evening. Great sound.

Actually I felt really sorry for him in the last instance because I've NEVER seen him look embarrassed on stage before (and fuck knows he SHOULD have a few times), Hooky, Steve and Phil pishing themselves can't have helped either.
I slag the shit out of him I know (tho, I've never denied he's a genius), but he's not always as bad as he comes over in some of tha footage, it's just a catalogue of spasticity, and there's not ONE soaring wonderful performance to balance it.
If Bernard was involved in the selection, I can only conclude he was trying to convince us they were always total shite and we should fuck off and leave them alone to get old in peace.
Great DVD though, particularly since it sounds as if Hooky has chopped the hands off the post production team who cunted up the last two efforts (Finsbury and NYC). Bernard probably ADORES post though. I've heard bits of boots of the nights, and the DVD sounds "right", unlike the last two which left me checking the gig guide to see if they'd done two nights, or two sets, because the DVD had NOTHING to do with the gig.

Went into HMV last Monday. £19.99 with the bonus CD. Only watched the rare stuff and it's great. Gillian's look towards Bernard when he falls over..
