New Order reissues - official tracklisting

Still the same track-/timelistings as last week ... seems Shellshock & True Dub are STILL missing 3 minutes plus.

We have to wait for the discs to see how things will work out.

I'd say it was a schoolboy error, but at least a schoolboy have have shown a bit imagination.

I know I will buy them for my upcoming birthday, no matter what. However, I agree that they should have done better with the bonus tracks.

At least it seems that Blue Monday won't have the first few beats cut off this time.

As mentioned earlier... 'State of the nation' on two of the cd's is a piss take. If it's anywhere, it should be on the bonus cd of Brotherhood (not the original album).

No 'The Happy One' again..! I take it that there is no full version of it in existance...

Once again, a waste of a brilliant oppertunity to bring the fans what they want...

Temptation 1987 clocks in at about 7:00, so maybe that's it. Hopefully then track 10 is the original 12", or maybe the 7"+12" mixed into one 14 minute track?

Nic, any info on Republic's re-issue? It's included in the Live In Glasgow DVD advertisment card.

So far 3 odd things:

1. If Temptation on Movement disc is the 87 version - absolutely out of place, for the sound's sake!
2. Having The Beach following Blue Monday (according to the overall logic of these reissues, they should put it somewhere further on the disc, like Confusion).
3. State of The Nation is on Brotherhood the album CD (I know, it's on all Brotherhood CDs, but then the same song on Low-Life bonus CD??)

actually, my version ends with 'bizarre love triangle (shep pettibone mix), after 'state of the nation'..

They were supposed to be combined to offer a complete listening experience: that's why the 7" has a cold start and fades out while it's the opposite for the 12".

Altough putting the 1987 Substance version here doesn't respect the chronology, I'd be happy to have a remastered version of it. The 12" can be found in Retro and the 7" in Singles, so I don't care much about which one will be here (12" would of course be better). They should have done the same with Confusion, imho.

Apparently we'll eventually get unabridged versions of The Perfect Kiss, Subculture and Hurt, which is nice , but not of Shellshock . And, looking at their lengths, they're again going to misslabel Mesh and Cries & Whispers .

Sorry, everybody, but this really is very disappointing. The Joy Division re-issues were of interest because, with the exception of Unknown Pleasures which included a live gig already released on Heart and Soul except for 2 tracks, we were at least treated to some unreleased material. In an interview from a few months back, Peter Hook was gushing about all the gems they had rediscovered from the lost Rob Gretton bank vault, including lots of live gigs. This would have been the chance to release these but instead we are offered a bunch of bonus tracks that diehard New Order fans already have, often on several releases already. I was saving up for these but now I guess I'll spend my cash elsewhere. This is a real sham(e).

The insert that came with the Live in Glasgow DVD states the following: New OrderCollector's EditionRemastered And ExpandedIn A 2-Disc SetWith Non-Album Singles,B-Sides, Remixes,New Liner Notes,And More!

London Records really didn't promise much beyond what the current track listing revealed. They were right on target with what the insert said and this is as good as it gets with them, for better or worse.
