The re-remasters, at last!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'll try to get down to the Tower Records in Shibuya this weekend to take a peek at the Japanese re-releases and report back to everyone, if nobody does it before me.

But it's doubtful I'll actually pick them up--from the looks of the website they're about twice as expensive as the US/UK versions.

For once, it may be much better to import :p

Unless there's a bonus booklet or something of the sort, which isn't totally out of the question...

I checked out the Japanese re-reissues at Tower Records this past weekend. It appears the track listing/date typos have been fixed (the ones I could see on the sleeve, at least--I wasn't able to read the insert booklet).

Since they're priced at about $35 each, I'll just order the UK/US versions. I can confirm there are no bonus tracks, and there don't seem to be any bonus booklets.

Also got a chance to listen to CD2 of Technique--it sounded pretty good to me!!

Was that a replacement disc you had requested, or just a regular order?

That was my regular order. Supposed to be a pre-order of the August re-release. It just arrived in the mail this afternoon! Now I have to dig out my good headphones and compare it to the log file . .

Where did you order yours from - Amazon.com, Rhino US, Amazon UK, HMV Japan? :)

They're not listed anywhere in the UK yet...

what's the date of © & (p) on the CD ? 2008 or 2009 ? i want to order them from Rhino Us, but that will cost me lot from France. So i'd better be sure they don't send me old editions from last year.

Rhino US.

The date of © & (p) on the Digipak is 2008. Comes shrink-wrapped in plastic with a sticker about "Contains Everything's Gone Green" and two other titles. Does not have one of those "Collector's Edition" plastic sleeves.

The only reissues of 2009 that I know are these fucking useless vinyl and the very expensive Japanese CDs.

Anybody get these in the U.S. yet? They're supposed to be released tomorrow. I haven't received my replacement discs in the mail for three of them, two of the others I didn't purchase.

It looks like the only site carrying them is Rhino, so we'll have to pay full price there. Amazon, cduniverse, etc. do not have them. Allmusic.com shows 2009 release dates, but it appears the UPCs have not changed. I was told by "Dr. Rhino" that they would be released to the public again, but it seems that if tomorrow is still the release date they are concealed to us customers.

This is a good deal and includes free shipping to the USA, I ordered mine yesterday, it comes out to $99 us dollars but includes all 5 Vinyl's.

I purchased the corrected versions from The Ideal Copy in the US. I have not checked all discs but I have checked many things and do not hear any errors. One physical error is that the labels on the Low-life CDs are swapped. Does anyone else have a Low-life copy like this? It's disappointing to me that the Eschreamer Dub of True Faith was included instead of the True Dub.

Unfortunately, they've released them in the US and Japan only, no sign of a UK date as yet...

Which is bizarre considering they're an English band... :banghead:

It's about time these were released. Just ordered them from Rhino. Does anyone know if there's plans to remaster and release Substance and Republic?

We don't need a remastered Substance really. Only the re-recorded Confusion and Temptation is interesting for a remaster (although you can find a remaster of Confusion 1987 on International (2002) if you want). The rest we already have in various quantities.

Although I like to see a remastered Temptation 1987, otherwise I have to rip it off the DVD 'A Collection'.

No I don't like loudness or compressed mess ... I like dynamics, so here's hoping that a future remastered version of the song does justice to the dynamics, otherwise I don't need another and will stick to Substance.

So, any first hand reports on what is actually different? They actually re-did anything? Change any tracks/order? We need graphs!!!

And any way to tell externally (from the cover or labels) which version is new and improved, and which is more half assed? Hopefully they use their whole ass this time*

I wrote Dr Rhino. See if he hooks me up.

*stolen Simpsons joke.

What about the cover to Brotherhood? Have they fixed it and returned to the original cover, or is it still that wavy abomination?

Point taken. But still, I want Republic remastered. They remastered the first 5 albums, and Get Ready and WFTSC obviously don't need remastering. But they left out Republic.....wut up wit dat, son????

What needs remastering about Republic? Sounds just fine. All you'll get is a slightly louder and more trebly mix.

WFTSC certainly needs it though, it's limited to f**k on the CD and is horribly loud, maybe they should use the vinyl master for the CD next time.
