Ok I just downloaded it from Amazon (while I wait for my super double secret special cd package to arrive)...

Not that Barney would ever allow it but why not give hooky the masters...let him go into the studio and record over bass lines as he sees fit...it could be an "artist" remix...and he'd never even have to see nor speak with Barney...

I know people hate Hague's mixing on Republic but wasn't most of that album done exactly this way...they went into the studio at different times to record their bits. Agreed that Hooky was mixed out of or turned way to low down in many songs but Regret and Special turned out fantastically...

what a COCK more like. So you got the illegal download, ordered a full copy, then paid for a legal download?

I'm doing a remix album BL vs The Bandit.. Wanna buy it? I can set up paypal.

Can't see him being too interested in doing that  He's been unable to finish his own album for the last 3+ years...

He might just do it to spite Barney and get rave reviews on his take on Barney's songs

Overall 4/5

You've given the tracks 32 out of 50.

Where'd the overall 4/5 come from then? You're rounding up?

I've realised Air's new album is out tomorrow. So obviously i'll be buying that instead of Bad Lieutenant. Apparently it's a return to form and their best work since their debut album Moon Safari. So obviously my money will be going on that rather than any Bad Lieutenant drivel. Anyway, BL are so last month.

Got my copy of Never Cry Another Tear from amazon.co.jp in the post, just this minute! I'll give my opinion on 'Higher Wider Deeper' when I properly listen to it.

Apparently, Alex plays bass on 'Falling Trees', and 'Split the Atom', 'Shine like the sun', 'Walk on silver water'. Stephen is on drums on 'Running out of luck, 'Poisonous Intent', 'Runaway'.

Higher Wider Deeper is a good song, too, IMO. Bernard sings on it, and I like the sound and the lyrics.

 This is clearly Phil's time to shine.

I thought it was Steve on PI when I first heard it...that song has, hands down, the tightest, most rhythmic, best drumming on the record.

Mmmmm ,still go straight to poisonous intent and summer days of holiday.

Great "driving" album.

I also like the idea of the extra tracks (havanae heard em yet tho),it was always going to leak onto the net, even tho there have been minimal promo cd's mailed out and as far as i know none of the promo cd's have the extra tracks on.

I havent seen a promo on ebay, yet, and the only sink or swim promo cd sold last week to a u.s bidder.

Mailed the guy to see where he got it from and he said he got it in a cod? shop in Leeds for 99p!

Not a bad return that!

I agree- perfect for the drive to work. These tracks on heavy rotation: Twist of Fate Summer Days on Holiday Poisonous Intent Shine Like the Sun

Jake's voice sounds good, but Shine Like the Sun is a missed opportunity for four minutes of Barney guitar-pop bliss.

Slow to moderate, I guess. The other two songs are OK, IMO.
