They're one of those bands that I liked a lot early on (based on Yellow), but then everybody and their mom was praising the band, and for some reason that's a really big turnoff for me. But I'd be more than willing to give them a chance, seeing as I do like Travis. After all, I finally got David Gray's White Ladder months after he stopped being trendy, and am pleased to report it's one of the best albums I've ever picked up. So, who knows?.....
Coldplay.

Heh heh, David Gray, thats another one I dislike, they just keep coming...
Admitedly my dislike is entirely based on the one song I've heard, the one where he sort of mumbles loudly in an incredibly irritating way 'oh mumble mum wah , oh mumble bum werr...mumble-on'
It was called something like 'Mumble On' (warble on?)...
But mostly I just don't like the idea of him.

You'll find it was really called "Wobble On". Massive hit as well. And, of course, it was written about his incessantly nodding head (what else???) and he even does all the actions to it to demonstrate each time he sings it an' all..... he's a talented lad our Davey! ;)

I bought Parachutes based on Yellow and listened to it about once. However, after Trouble and In My Place, my interest has been reawakened.

Yeah PATRICK i got that one too but don't play it much.Still i have that much that i should stop buying anything for a couple of years and play ALL the new stuff a mate sends up from LONDON.So much newer CDs recorded to minidisc by a guy who has 6000 CDs.I also got a free acoustic version of YELLOW and 3 other tracks which is quite good.
Cheers ROCKET MICK ![]()

How does one store 6000 CD's, I wonder, Rocket Man?
He has purpose built CD storage from floor to ceiling in his bedroom and also has a mini studio desk with mixer and several cd players, minidisc players and stack units. It is a fantastic setup and he even has his own FANTASY RADIO STATION...the RADIO SHACK 101FM.A bloody brilliant character and sometimes acts as my minder when out to keep the fans at bay!:D:D:D:D

I think Coldplay is great. Every song on their Parachutes album is wonderful. I just hope they get the chance to make a lot of great albums. There are too many bands that don't get a chance to become legends because of fads.
I also think Pete Yorn is awesome (I already started spreading the word :))

"In My place" is just a GREAT song. It sounds like a sequel to "Yellow". I just bought the single "In My place" yesterday and i cant help but listening to it again and again. XCant wait for Colplay's new album.
