We went last night Boro' too many dickheads asking stupid Q (as tho being hibernating for 20 yrs) Even a propa hippy twat with a Floyd tshirt scruffy hobo (so wrong). Hooky gen good reminisces about the 3rd Warsaw gig here he still has the whole tape but the time isnt right!. Still no father forwards withe the 2nd Monaco lp debarcle release. Mentioned that Freebass playing 1st gig at Coventry but i think the daft bugger has got mixed up with York. Nice to see the alternative 'Republic' song titles good few months before it came out. Raced over to him at end for a while b4 every man n his dog got their £20book signed cause none of my bastard Q got asked out. (carn't be doing with signing shit) Very obliging and looked lot trimmer than since the book tour in autumn last year. Ohh asked bout Manc May 18th gig Unknown Pleasures.. says band similar to 'The Light' but with Alan Hempshall doing vocs..thats interesting.
PS. alright Boaty. long time no see (Blackpool gardens if i remember)forgot to ask if you did James gig up Toon' tother week. I did.. dead good.. played Hymn..Hup Springs ![]()
Never went to JAMES,no.Love them though.
Think I commented on the other Unknown Pleasures thread, when it probably should have been this thread really.Nice seeing you again mate, hope you made that train back to Darlo, and see you at Freebass in York.![]()
Great show last night at the Sage. Liked the story about World In Motion nearly being called 'E for England'. Tony Wilson thought it was a bad idea considering it was 1990, and the drug reference! Brilliant.
Top night at Sage, Gateshead last night. Wasn't sure what to expect and despite initial apparent discomfort from Hooky and the crowd (when he shuffled on in silence without a word, sat down and picked up a bass) it all worked really well.
Only criticism I have is that the memorabilia was all on the stage so didn't get a chance to look at it but looking at other reviews pictures it seems others were able to wander about and have a closer look.
Was chatting to me mate at end of gig and Hooky walked straight past us - and I didn't notice!
Could have stayed and listened longer though. It seems there may be a glimmer of hope that they may yet get together again as NO ("Never say never" - Hooky) - fingers crossed!
All in all a really entertaining night - cheers!

Aye Hooky did seem to look a bit uncomfortable and awkward when he first came on at the Brum do.Not a word and straight into Elegia then The Happy One. I really feared the thing was gonna die on stage before the chat started but Hooky quickly settled down and the chat started flowing.Could have gone on for hours in the end. Memorabilia was to the side of the stage so not a problem viewing it all.
Oxford last night, realy enjoyed it , eligia was ace and the freebass number was exciting and dark,, memrobilia was pretty good, there was the warsaw tape from boro with a couple of titles unheard of,, lust! didt ask the man about them,, highlight for me was seeing That guitar,,, Good stuff alround . Hooky stayed and chatted for a while, let slip hese opening with at a later date in may.
signed my Salford 85 ticket stub"you know you should be giving this to me , there you go HOOKY" i offered to swop it for something on stage, no buys.
happy One
Anyone know if there's still tickets for the Lowry on Friday?
Or anyone got a spare?
Please?

You had me panicing then, it's not Friday, it's Saturday, I have two tickets, but the wife wants to come along, sorry mate.
glos last night, loads of questions, nothing new really
some good stuff on mick hucknall/ the world in motion recording
hooky mixed reading up with glasters though - said the cage was lowered from the ceiling for wim & keith came out - that was reading 98 shirley?
stage area available for inspection before & after witht he memorabilia out including john entwhistle's bass
sound quality wasnt great but able to make out most of the video presentation & hooky signed everything offered to him at the end
Went to see Hooky at Wakefield on Tuesday night. Hooky was on good form, very entertaining. It's just a pity that he and the audience had to put up with the interventions of a number of morons in the audience. Hooky must have been frustrated but dealt with the banal and puerile offerings from the crowd in an appropriate way. The sound for the film was poor but improved when Hooky played Elegia.
Hi all,
Quick question, how do you add images on here?
I've got some from Glos on 28th I'd like to post.
Thanks! Ant

First load up the photos to another site, plenty out there but make sure it's something everyone can see i.e not facebook, then when posting copy the address of each pic click the 'image' button on the left of the post text box and paste the link in.
hope that helps.
Went to Derby last night. Really enjoyed it. I went to the Revenge gig back in July 4th 1990 at the Dial in Derby and it was good Hooky rememered it. My mate Rob gave him a flyer from that night and Hooky was well pelased to add to his collection. Good story about all the revenge gigs being booked and world cup dates hence nobody turned up. He answered my question about 'does he ever see Barney down at the shops' A question I nicked from this site can't remember who from. Apprantly he saw him recently buying a mothers day card when Barney saw him he put out his hand and they both shook hands then barney left!
I had turrets at one point and kept shouting out Barney must have been the Grolsh. Sat at the back 1st session and right at the front second session. Really good versions of the Happy One and Elegia.
Hooky did say the new Feeebass ablum would have a phsical release.
shame he never answered my question on did Steve go wild on tour 2001 onwards once Gillian had left the band and who was the most caned one in New Order.
Nice that Hooky is coming to these places such as Derby who wouldn't normally get Hooky gigging their. A very entertaining night only downside is that they had no 'we made history not money' t shirts available sold out before Derby.
