Bernard Sumner On The Wright Stuff [UK TV] Tuesday 14 June

Bernard Sumner will be appearing alongside Hayley Tamaddon and Steve Furst on the topical debate show "The Wright Stuff"

For those who don't know, The Wright Stuff is a topical/political discussion show in the UK hosted by Matthew Wright. Each show has a panel of special guests who voice their opinions and there are also phone-ins from viewers.

Past topics include "Has Hamza [also known as Hooky] changed Islam?" and "Save Our Degrees - Give Fewer Uni Places".

I watched it, it was quite good. They had a bit about Retro music and do people let themselves go at 41?

yeah it makes no sense. Take That re-release Progress with 8 extra tracks after 8 months and NO release 1 extra track every 6 years!!

so in 2017 we should get TOTAL - From Joy Division to Electronic - extra track "Brothers & Sisters"

2023 TOTAL - from Joy Division to Electronic via Revenge and The Other Two - extra track "Hey You What You Gonna Do?"

2029 Total - From New Order to Bad Lieutant by passing Joy Division - extra track "Sugarcane"

The best way to get the Sirens outtakes out in full is to reissue "Waiting For The Sirens' Call" in as a Deluxe 2xCD or 2xCD+DVD edition. Seriously surprised the band or label have apparently not come to that conclusion themselves. As such a reissue would be 70% old material it's surely not much more expensive to do than a Best Of?

Disc 1 would be the original album remastered by Steve and Frank Arkwright in the same manner as 'Total' replacing the ridiculously brickwalled version we got in 2005 at the height of the loudness wars.

Disc 2 would be the remaining outtakes plus 'Hellbent' completed to the band's satisfaction and they could use a mixture of the era's best remixes (plus the unreleased Tribute Mix of WFTSC & Jetstream "Bunker Mix") and live renditions as an appendix. Again all mastered to the same standard as 'Total'.

Finally, add a DVD to the set as per the recent Suede reissues. Include all the promotional videos made for the album including the 'Turn' ones Michael Shamberg created. Pad out the rest of the disc with choice live performances (Hyde Park was filmed) and perhaps a hidden "easter egg" section with the US Guilt remixes - they did win a Grammy for them after all.

Flog the 3 disc re-release for £15.99-16.99 in the shops or £25 online including a free T shirt and most fans would gladly dip their hands in their pockets for it no question.

They should continue with the Collector's Editions.

Republic needs to be remastered (put the vinyl only mixes 93-95 on the second disc), Get Ready has lots of cool additional tracks for CD2 and WFTSC should just be released as mentioned.
