No, because I didn't feel like paying $300 for a ticket just to see New Order. I don't care about any of the other bands/DJs, etc.
It's sad that New Order didn't extend their stay in America for a mini tour, just one week; 4-5 gigs at least would be so welcome by many!!
Kraftwerk, new order and groove armada all in one go! that would have been a dream gig if it was over here (and groove armada were playing rather than dj'ing)

You presumably know Kraftwerk are now only one-quarter of their 'classic' lineup, whereas New Order boast at least three-quarters.

Kraftwerk may as well be Robots. So seeing them live without an original member(s) isn't such a big deal. (I'm a massive fan by the way). The New Order live experience for me was heightened by Hooky's enormous stage presence. Unfortunately he has been replaced by an average session musician with a tendency to prance about and play the bass like a girl. (No offence intended). It's tainted my love for them. But such is life and hopefully sometime in the future Hooky will reunite with B, S and G and perform again.

I can see why you wouldn't want someone playing bass "like a girl', though. Since females couldn't possibly contribute anything worthwhile to your sausage fantasy version of New Order.
kraftwerk may look likr they're stood there motionless but they're working pretty hard, I think only ralph is playing anything but 2 others are mixing and adding effects a bit like a dj, and the fourth is controling the video screens, also interesting that no one person has been in kraftwerk all through their carreer. ralph left to finish at uni for a year.

I'll be at the festival. I only want to see New Order and Kraftwerk...can I sell my tickets for the other two days or did they make it so that is impossible?

They may not be the 'classic' lineup but Henning Schmitz and Fritz Hilpert are the longest standing members of Kraftwerk now, apart from Ralph and Florian of course.

They may not be the 'classic' lineup but Henning Schmitz and Fritz Hilpert are the longest standing members of Kraftwerk now, apart from Ralph and Florian of course.
Hilpert's contributions extend to one album only though, and I don't think Schmitz has ever had a song-writing credit with KW?

As did Wolfgang Flur, he had no songwriting credits. Also, one of their key songwriters has never appeared on stage.
Henning Schmitz was an engineer and had his first credit on Electric Cafe. Fritz Hilpert had a prominent credit on The Mix, though he obviously didn't write the original tracks he may have rearranged them. Soundtracks has his first writing credit. Schmitz is presumably still engineering rather than writing.

This is exactly how I feel about the current NO. Hooky was a critical part of the live dynamic. That skinny lad jumping about like a bell-end front of stage swinging his bass is just wrong. Session musicians should be heard and not seen. That said I'm torn by the fact that the set-list for these shows looks ten times more interesting than anything they've done in the past ten years.

The guy is probably a long time fan who got the chance to play with his influences. Could you imagine being on stage listening to the intro of Temptation or Crystal (before the bass comes)? In his place I would be making a fool of myself also.

I don't think there is a bass playng new order fan that would not jump at the chance of doing his job, and we'd all make complete cocks of our selfs! I'd totally fuck it up!
Let's face it, Hooky became a parody of himself on stage in the noughties. He never use to prowl around like a look-at-me try hard. He was always cooler just stood there, occasionally with his back to us. Then he started competing for our attention, hmmm.

I have the Finsbury park DVD, and during 'True Faith', Hooky shouts something, which I thought was distracting. And that's just by watching the DVD. Not really a fan of those types of actions. However, I also find the 'come on!' that Bernard sometimes says during LWTUA to be distracting as well.
I agree. Finsbury park was the first time I thought blimey his ego's taken over him. Reckon Bernard was pissed off as I remember him asking wheres Hookey. As for Tom - fair play to him, he is enjoying himself and doing a good job too

It's a shame that Michael Woods won't be performing with Example. Changed The Way You Kissed Me was a crossover-genre classic last year.
