Not particularly vitriolic but it does sound like they wouldn't have bothered doing any of these gigs, if Hooky hadn't announced he was touring the New Order albums first.

Bravo Hooky! :thumb:

Thanks for the link. It IS pretty vitriolic by Bernard's (not Hooky's) standards, these interviews get nastier and nastier. Let's console ourselves with the great music they've all made! And Revenge.

All I can say is 'well said that man!' Not exactly resorted to mudslinging in Hooky's 'I'll fuck them over' style, but a more subtle 'go get fucked' hidden in plain sight. Or something like that.

I posted in the mojo thread but basically I am fine with Barney's approach. Direct. Good stuff. Well said. Get some fucking music recorded. :)

Great interview.

Says just what needs to be said and leaves the rest.

Quality a really measured response unlike the foaming mad dog

Don't forget though, the foaming mad dog is right and everyone else is wrong

Excellent from St.Bernard.

Now if someone could just remove any remaining visuals of the foaming mad dog at the top of this webpage my life would be complete.

Nice response, IMO.

bernard is fabulous. peter succumbed to the vagaries of fame and his fans , and he is a bit poisoned. i pray hard that he can recover . it is embarrassing now , but next month , if those songs are scrapped or postponed , he may not have any cachet left .

Why stop there..Maybe you would would prefer to see all of New Orders music to be re-released with Hooky's basslines removed..

Gillian had breast cancer??

i hit the wrong button without thinking. and not thinking happens frequently at advanced ages. around 2007 gillian discovered she had cancer, she is recovered

it was a nice gesture that bernard didnt slag hookys bass playing and its an awful pity hooky didnt keep his mouth shut about gillian's playing. you dont criticise another musicians playing publicly especially when you've been playing with them a long time.

The Stone Roses told Sumner that New Order's reunion inspired their re-formation. Could there ever be a happy ending - New Order reuniting? "With Peter Hook? No. There's just been too many bad things said and done," Sumner says. "It's gone too far."

Its a straight forward reply and a good article. I agree the band have survived hookey leaving and he has survived(I think, not seen the light yet)doing his own thing. It is sad and always two sides to a story . I do tend to find in life though that the one looking bad has been wronged at some point and cant keep composure as a result and the other side can simply push the buttons but I cant judge this one. Hooky shouldn't have made the comments about Gillian. We as fans though are being treated to tours we never thought we'd see again as a result of the internal conflict.

is there any evidence of peter loving bernard in the early years and bernard not having the same feelings ? or bernard possibly experimenting, but not with him. or could there have been just a general jealousy without intimacy. what they call latent feelings ? bernard without shirt did get many young men and women excited in those days. please forgive me if i have crossed any lines.

"He's saying we shouldn't use the New Order name. He shouldn't be using the Joy Division artwork. It's OK for him to benefit from the Joy Division heritage but not for us to benefit from it or the New Order heritage? In Peter Hook World I guess that makes sense but in no one else's world does it make sense. And fortunately for us in the legal world I don't believe it makes sense either. If he wants a fight we're ready for a fight... "

Well said!

On 'Lost Sirens' (or whatever it's called)

"We've all OK'd it - it's ready to go," Sumner says. "But one member of the band is holding back the reins. Use your imagination."

(I at first assumed the delay was because there were too many people ordering it and the vinyl pressing wasn't ready or something.)

"But if you don't want to be on tour, if you're not enjoying it, it's hell. It's the total opposite now. I want to be there this time."

So he doesn't mind touring now.

I'm a lot better singer now. I didn't know my a--- from my elbow in the singing department when I started out. I had no desire to be a singer. I was a guitarist and keyboard player (in Joy Division). Singing was a craft I had to learn.

:thumb:

We do want to carry on with the band. He's doing what he wants to do. We're doing what we want to do. Surely that's the perfect solution?"

Agreed. :read:

Cheers for the link, good article. The whole saga should now be put to bed with Hookhy and sumner carrying on as they are (music wise), get the lost sirens released draw a line under it all. New order gigs have all sold out, the fans want it Hooky should now let it go and get that damn lost sirens released:)

You suggesting Hooky is a big gayer and all this is over unrequited love? Interesting take on the situation, I'd suggest studying the lyrics of Revenge and Monaco to see if there are some messages in there.

Hard to know what the truth is, but I still remember the New Order video where Hooky was flanked by drag queens. I believe that it was the video for Fine Time, but not the version here on NOOL.
