Yes discussed in the Bernard & Mella Dee Riptide thread.

Me neither. I think the director was capitalising on the popularity of Absolutely Fabulous at the time.
I personally hated that show, so it probably coloured my judgement on the video somewhat.
All that being said, I rather loved the release of the single back in 1995. Although the remixes were pretty poor, it was great to hear this very different version of the song, with Hook's bass very prominently in the mix. Coupled with the new version of Let's Go on CD2, made for a fabulous one-two punch. Much better than most of the previous single releases which just contained mostly poor remixes and nothing 'new'.
I still think the original version of 1963 is the best though. I might be mistaken, but isn't the vocal for the '94 and '95 versions a little different to the original '87 take? For instance, check out the line 'Johnny came home with another wife'. Sounds lighter somehow.
Not sure if this has been mentioned but there's a New Order remix of Arcade Fire's "Age of Anxiety II (Rabbit Hole)" track doing the rounds.
Reportedly may see an official release at some point but for now you may be able to find it if you look around.
Not a bad mix. I wasn't across this AF track before but it's trademark Bernard output.

Revered fashion brand co-opting Factory, JD/NO and Manchester music history in general for an event in the city. Peter Saville is a guilty partner.

Yes it has been mentioned before, as per this.
Can you be more precise about where to look?

This made the 10pm news on BBC1 last night (or Thursday?).
Some of you may have already seen this. So it's Phil and Gill, with - I think - Steve and Bernard (baseball cap) sat in front of them.

However you may not have seen this. As 'rants' go, I think it's a reasonably well thought out and informative one. Click the pic.

Perhaps some forumites from the general area would like to chime in?..
EDIT oh just found this too

When Marie Antoinette came out, I seem to remember it felt like a big deal that Ceremony was used in it. I watched Lost In Translation (again) a few months ago. Still good (and the recent accusations of xenophobia seem a little over-sensitive).

Posted to YT today. Lotsa old info but some facts I hadn't heard before, likely from the books I haven't read yet

(Sorry couldn't figure out how to embed the YT video - help wasn't very helpful)
This was a pretty reasonable watch. I especially liked the montage of very different cover versions at the end.
Thanks!

An article about the above. So if you're disgusted by this type of thing, you'll know not to click.
Lately their Instagram channel has been posting video clips. Yesterday it was the 2005 video for Temptation where the French girl shoplifts the 12" single. I kinda like that one.

Yes.
Their social media manager doesn't have anything new to offer, but still needs to earn his keep.

Nothing wrong with keeping engagement up.
I'm very happy to see the numpties who keep whining about Peter Hook have largely stopped commenting. He's been gone 17 years now.
Doug bought Brotherhood? Ok I'm dfinitely voting Kamala now. How do I get a US passport?
After you've clicked the pic to see the NME article, If you click on the instagram post embedded within that article, it's actually a video, so you can see Doug taking the records out. Just in case you don't believe him.

In his defense, it's set in Paris.
