New Order - Shellshock [HD Upgrade]
I guess it's redundant, what with YouTube and all. But I would love an HD updated collection of all their videos on Blu-ray. They've done a few clips since A Collection and could include the "Turn" and "Everything's Gone Green" videos this time around. I'm actually surprised that a clip wasn't produced for "I'll Stay with You" (or anything from Lost Sirens) at the time, but maybe something new could emerge ala "Ceremony", "Temptation" and "Age of Consent".
...and I imagine there are other alternative versions (like the live version of "World") that could be included as well.
what a strange video to 'upgrade'.
i can't tell the difference. there were always supposed to be a lot of video artifacts in it, and video effects.
so is it really any better?

Alternates that they could include:
Blue Monday (original video, which I think Steve created) The Perfect Kiss (edited version from 'International' limited edition; although not really worth it as it's just an edit, I think) True Faith (alternate version from 'International' limited edition; which features a bit more Glasto footage) Round&Round (Patti version) Regret (Baywatch/TOTP version, which sometimes gets classed as an official video) World (The Price Of Love) (S. Hauger Radio Edit Remix Video; the 'live' one Andy mentions above) Round&Round-94 (not sure if this differs at all, but presumably has the 94 version of the song; featured on (the best) of VHS) True Faith-94 (the 94 version, which features clips from other promo videos; featured on (the best) of VHS) True Faith-94 (Perfecto Mix) (a longer version of the True Faith video, with additional scenes) Blue Monday-95 (Hardfloor Vocal Mix) (a longer version of the 95 video) Crystal (Gina Birch Version) Temptation-98 (live footage put to the 98 mix) Crystal (Leos Carax Version) Ceremony * Everything's Gone Green * Temptation * Turn (Napoli) * Turn (Tokyo)* Turn (Vienna) * People On The High Line (Claptone Remix)
* These were, I think all done around the same time by Michael Shamberg

Great stuff!
Weirdly, the description for the video states:
“The promo interview is included in the Low-Life Definitive Edition boxset. Pre-order here”
This wasn’t announced previously. Error or late addition do you think? I’m guessing the former.
Johnny James wrote: It's not on the box set. Just the PR dept getting it slightly wrong I suspect.
Thanks Johnny. I suspected as much. Would've been strange to include it, considering the Movement and PC&L ones weren't one their respective sets.

Not a big deal but couldn't they have used something album appropriate? The "Love Vigilantes" snare hit, something from the "The Perfect Kiss" intro or even the bell at the end of "Sunrise"...

Yes i also thought that. Odd they didn't use something from the Low Life era. How about the frogs!
BLT in Brotherhoods Collector Edition is broken in Deezer - wrong version, abrupt end, lol. https://www.deezer.com/en/album/243849 - Please help.
Ker-ching!

Does anyone uses Tidal?
My brother-in-law recently added me to his plan, and while playing Technique I could notice a few slight glitches on the tracks, most notably on All the Way (at 2min52) and Round & Round (at the very beggining of the track).
Then I proceeded to download a 24-bit version and the glitches are there too, and at the end of the songs I'm under the impression they are vinyl rips?
Dunno what to think. ![]()
Ceremony, procession, everything's gone green & temptation singles removed from Deezer. Please help.
Not sure where to post this. It's not new, but I just stumbled across it. This guy won some equipment in Hooky's auction and is putting it through the paces:
Hooky and NO have reached an agreement...to sell T-shirts together on the NO website. (I don't think we have a Merch thread do we?)
[TWITTER]1655138907284197376[/TWITTER]
Someone on Hook's Facebook post said: "Hope you're getting a %-age Hooky". To which he got a reply: "We wouldn’t be promoting it if we weren’t on board with it" Oh and there's a similar interaction in the replies to the above tweets too.
Do I care about everyone making a nice little earner out of it? No, not really. But I imagine someone, somewhere will see this as a step towards reunion. Not me though. I think it's just about the 'cha-ching'.
It might just be me, but I feel the simple, text-free colour code design on the CALM "Blue Monday" t-shirt (despite the small credit on the bottom) is preferable to these. It reminds me of how QWEST/WB ruined Power, Corruption & Lies by adding the title to the cover.
That Shergold Marathon T-Shirt is a bit weird. He never played a white one during his time with band (and certainly not during the writing of Blue Monday).
That white one, along with stickers, is very much synonymous with his time with The Light.
Seems really strange to have it as a New Order t-shirt, especially one promoting Blue Monday as FAC73.

Yeah, there are definitely issues with the 2015 master of Technique. I bought the 44/16 files from Qobuz when it first came out. Aside from the issues you highlighted, the outro of Run (the ambient keyboard line) also has an audible wobble towards the end; between the 4:19 and 4:22 mark. It's almost as if the transfer of the master tape wasn't done with enough care or something. A shame and I hope they fix in advance of any potential Technique box.
The irony is the 2008 master on the much maligned Collector's Edition was/is fine, and it is difficult to tell the difference between it and the 2015 one. It was just the first pressing bonus discs that had the well-publicised issues.
I haven't tried Tidal but it seems quite expensive. I use Qobuz for Hi-Res stuff and Spotify for streaming because like you, I'm part of a family plan and it was just a bit more cost effective that way.
Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but noticed this today:
https://songexploder.net/new-order
The band feature in a podcast, talking about Blue Monday.
PS I rather like the artwork. Captures the band members' likenesses well, I think.

Yet oddly, when I emailed Warner to get those replacement, corrected Collector's Edition CDs in 2008 (remember I had to send them photographs of the CDs to prove I had them), along with all the corrected bonus discs, I also got a corrected 'Technique' CD1 - I hadn't noticed anything wrong with it, but apparently it also needed fixing.
Bernard's had Covid, Stephen's had Covid, Hooky's got Covid. All we need now is confirmation that Gillian had Covid (or maybe she did and I missed it?). That would be the original 4 alll united in their Covid experience!
Covid is making a "comeback" at the moment. Don't say you weren't warned, fellow forumites!

I'm fairly sure that Hook cancelled a gig that I was going to at Wolves Wulfren back in '97 (Monaco). Gig was rescheduled, iirc.
It may have been something other than ill health or, maybe, it was Pottsy or one of the others who were ill.
Anyone able to confirm this vague memory of mine? Was the Wolves Wulfren gig rescheduled? Looking online, date appears to be 15/09/97, but not sure if that was the original date or the rescheduled one.
