Although I understand we all make mistakes, that's quite the clanger. You'd think the easy answer here would've been to check it out on Wikipedia etc. I'm thinking they may have seen the expanded edition of the LP on Spotify/Apple Music etc.
I suppose it's a bit of a dilemma. Do you appoint someone to monitor a band's social media profile who is media savvy, with years of experience? Or do you appoint a fan of the band who'd catch errors like this?
It's probably much easier with 'new' bands. Less history to mess up, plus there's a good chance that you'd get plenty of candidates who fit the joint roles of 'fan' and 'pro'.
Us old bastards who love the band, probably don't know a hashtag from a hash-brown. Or is that just me?

Cheers. Spotted the first one on Twitter yesterday, which I think is 'new'. I think the other two were originally posted a few months back, along with this one:
Interestingly, as mentioned by Steve, these are from the 23/05/79 gig rather than the more famous 14/03/79 one (which Whitehead filmed and Martin O'Neill took copies photos of).
As far as I know, there is only one other photo of this gig, which has Ian with a very weird facial expression:
They put up another "official lyric" video from Procession which still has several mistakes in the lyrics.
Looks suspiciously like someone just googled the lyrics and did a cut/past job from a dodgy website

I wonder what she thought of all the bad behaviour by Messrs Sumner & Hook.
It will be interesting to see if she plans a little 'payback' on Hooky. I have to be honest - I really wouldn't blame her.

I don't think the lyric videos have been particularly good, but the news items (rare as they are) haven't been too bad, so he's doing something right.
But, yeah, that is quite a few artists, so he might have his hands full. Maybe he farms things out to others too.

As we all know, she's a class act, so I'd be surprised if she really laid into him (even though I think she really should).
Here's hoping that there's a bit of fire shown from her, at least in a measured way.
And, most importantly, I want her to set the record straight. I'm not going to kid myself and say she was the driving force behind most of their records, but I'm positive that she made very significant contributions to these tracks.
And that's just the songs. She also did a tonne more:
touring; playing the gigs, sometimes with incredibly hostile (mostly) male audiences; doing the interview rounds; putting up with the bad behaviour of the other three and Rob;
and, in recent years, having to put with frankly horrible comments from Mr Hook about her contribution to the above.
Really looking forward to reading what she has to say.

The Procession being "...the third single from Movement..." tweet particularly bothered me. Partly due to the mistake, but mainly because after it was pointed out, it wasn't taken down/corrected.

Yes I think I got a bit overexcited for a moment there and could and should have chosen my words better. I fully trust Gillian to say whatever she feels she wants and needs to say about Mr Hook and in her own very classy way.

I think they made a nice job of this.
They didn't f**k up the lyrics (like they did on some previous videos) and I really liked the way they used the typography to recite the lyrics.
Just as an aside, that moment at 3:20 when Hook's bass kicks in is one of the greatest in musical history. No doubt.
Incidentally, anyone (Johnny James, perhaps) know why the single version swapped the 'view without a room' to 'room without a view'?
I presume John Robie tried to cover up the rather sloppy (but charming) vocal performance in the remix. Did he also make the decision to change the above line to make more sense?
I guess there's three possible scenarios:
A) they had already recorded two versions at the time of the LP and Robie used the alternate line in the remix; B) they re-recorded the vocals (at least in part) at the time of the remix; C) Robie spliced the lyrics from the LP version to swap ‘room’ and ‘view’ around.
I think C) seems unlikely and, with B), you'd think they'd've tidied up the vocal performance a bit better than they did (perhaps Bernard couldn't be arsed).
I am slightly bothered that they swapped them. I like the obtuseness of ‘view without a room’.
I wonder if there are versions sitting in the vaults that might partly explain what happened here. Maybe there's a second version, more akin to the LP version, with the 'view' / 'room' lyrics reversed. Maybe it'll be on the box set? :-)

I would offer Option D). Too messed up on drugs to notice. I can handle the LP version but can't listen to the 12". Too much cocaine/kitchen sink production IMO. Wasn't there a bun fight with Robie and cakes thrown at him or was that a Hook myth? And Saville not liking it and refusing to design a sleeve?

According to Hooky in his New Order book, Barney suggested they sabotage Robie's chair during a recording session. Hooky didn't get along with him so Robie seemed to hold him primarily responsible. At the dinner during the premiere of Pretty in Pink, Robie shoved a mushroom vol-au-vent into Hooky's face in retaliation.
When questioned about the lack of a sleeve design for Sub-Culture sleeve, Saville has said he simply was never asked to provide a design. My theory is that there was probably much debate on whether to pull a second single from an album (when they'd never had even one previously). Robie was known for working quickly, but perhaps they were worried Saville's legendary tardiness would cause delays that could push the release too far out (it came 6 months after Low-Life as it was).

I've no idea. Remixers often use parts that weren't used as they might still reside on the multitrack. John Robie won't have noticed most likely, and the band probably didn't either.

Thanks. It does seem kind of likely that there might’ve been various vocal takes and Robie either accidentally or deliberately used a different part.
Full-length version. 17:30. I guess this answers the question as to whether the version on the new boxset is the 'newly uncovered' one that Hooky mentioned a couple of years back. Presumably, it isn't.
Kind of wish they'd played around with the images a bit. I think there were different photos used for the cassette, so would've been nice to see those used as well.

If I were a betting man I'd bet that either (a) he's talking balderdash or (b) it's something less finished/complete than this version.
