I didn’t mean to come across as moaning ( well maybe I was a little). Was just trying to understand the thinking of uploading clips to YouTube that are already on there, by multiple different YouTubers.

The laserdisc/DVD was already great quality.
The band hated being on the show, and putting up a terrible performance. (i liked it though).
It's an odd thing to put up, but thats new order.

I doubt very much that them 2 totp performances would attract any casual fans...they're both woeful
You're possibly correct that the two performances may not attract casual fans.
However, I do disagree about the two performances being 'woeful'.
OK - they probably aren't what most people would be expecting from 1980s TOTP performances, where bands would be 'hamming it up' for audience, alongside a perfect studio version of the song.
Blue Monday doesn't sound that great, but it's 'passable', especially when you consider how difficult (at the time) it was to create the song in a live studio environment. It's not the car crash that some people think it is (or at least, not IMHO).
Thieves Like Us, however, sounds pretty damn good to me though.
Bernard's vocals are good and it's a pretty clear performance. My only slight criticism is that Hooky's bass is slightly too high in the mix, although that kind of makes it even better (sounding like someone revving up a motorbike).
I also think that the band look effortlessly cool in this performance. Imperious even.
In addition to the above, what we do have is a band 'flicking two fingers' at the establishment and doing what they want, rather than playing BBC puppets. And that's to be applauded.
Performances like this are exactly why I fucking love this band.
Fuck Hooky's bass and TLU sounds fine. Gillian actually went on record as saying she was proud they'd done justice to such a complex track. Sorry, 'Er, yes, hahaha! I'm proud we did justice to such a complex track! Hahaha, yes. Er, yes, hahahahaha.' BM is shit but fans seem to think being shit live is A Good Thing. Doesn't work for me doing stand-up.
I need to cancel my box set order from the New Order Store now Amazon is cheaper, but they've not replied to two messages in two days and it now has a status of "Packing". Don't want to end up with two copies!
Anyone got a telephone number for the New Order website here in the UK?

Oooh... hate to say it but I think you may have left it too late to cancel from NO store. Your copy is probably already somewhere in the Royal Mail system with 2 days or less to release day. You’d be better off biting the bullet and cancelling your Amazon copy. Or receive both and then try your luck at returning the NO store copy for a refund. Just my gut feeling.

Yeah, I guess that's likely now. Just hoping for an email reply from them - even if it's telling me it's too late to cancel the order. If I end up with two copies, it'll be easier to send back the Amazon copy, as there's an Amazon Locker near me. Certainly not going to cancel either of them until I know at least one has shipped! The difference in price was only £13 anyway - plus I ordered those neat looking 'True Faith' badges with that order too, which would be a nice little bonus.
Just two days to go, guys!
I've heard of one or two people who've got their sets already. Lucky swines.

Well I received the Movement box on the Thursday before the Friday official release date back in April 2019 so here’s hoping the same with this. Though I think I bought the Movement one off Amazon. Bought this PCL one from NO store.
I ordered my 'Movement' one through Amazon, but only got it on release day. DigiMike had his a day early last time.
You and him must just be 'jammy'. :-)
Yep just got the email too.Estimated delivery for UK is 1-3 days. Maybe Saturday at latest then?
Edit: oh that’s standard class. Tracked is 1-2 days. Don’t know if mine is standard or tracked.

I’m not sure either, but given that we’ve spent over £100 on this, I’m hoping it’s better than standard mail.
Just received another email, this time from Yodel.
My set is due to arrive on Friday.
At least they’re using couriers rather than the GPO.
Ooh, got a notification on my Yodel app and it states delivery will be on Friday. Looking good. Didn’t realise it would be Yodel delivering. Handy app, that. And I’ve just updated the app to select a preferred neighbour to take delivery if I’m not home from work .
Edit: just saw your previous post, perspex and you got a Yodel thing too. Great stuff.
Yodel?!
Make sure you're waiting on the doorstep to catch it as it's flung out the van window then...
Well, apparently, my set is now due for delivery today.
Excellent!
They're here!!!!!!!!!
It is the day before release day and I have had zero indication my box-set is inbound (yes, checked those Spam filters).
Ordered the tip top end mega bundle + singles + tshirt on the day it was offered for pre-order. With courier delivery.
Hopefully it will be here tomorrow. Will be a bit disappointed if not.
Edit: Just got my dispatch email at 18:30 so hopefully it will be here tomorrow after all. Very jealous of those who have theirs as the DVDs in particular look phenomenal. Enjoy!
Checked new order store and it just states packing! Annoying or what. Looks like mine won’t get here until next week

The first DVD in this set contains a couple of tracks from the Tolworth gig on 12/03/83, namely 'We All Stand' and 'Leave Me Alone'.
Just prior to playing the first of these tracks, there was the infamous 'Mark Johnson's scooter announcement' joke. I'm wondering if this announcement might be included in the footage.
For anyone that doesn't know, Johnson, who was at the time writing his 'An Ideal For Living' book, had been pestering the band non-stop and 'wearing out his welcome'. The band decided to play a joke on him, by raising his newly-purchased scooter onto the back of a lorry. They then got the announcer to ask the audience if the owner could remove the vehicle, as it was causing an obstruction.
Johnson describes the incident in his book but, from all accounts, he was very upset that the band had played such a 'cruel' joke on him.
There's a photo in Dec Hickey's book of the scooter on the lorry. Who knows, maybe this photo has made it into the PC&L book?
Yay! The clip is intact! The band's jape preserved for posterity!
Wow, Yodel knocked my door just seconds after I got in from work. What great timing. Box set looks great. First flick through the book and now playing the vinyl. Nice touch with the sleeve for the CD of album including the die cuts! Kind of cute.
What a beaut.
Oh, bottom corner of the Blue Monday sleeve, at end of the colour code blocks there is a QR code square which when scanned on phone takes you to neworder.com . Nice touch.
It's looking lovely.
Haven't had chance to check out anything in great detail yet, but noticed the second DVD seems to have an unscheduled bonus feature. Looks like Video 5-8-6, but haven't had a proper look yet.

And the sleeve is die-cut,, thankfully.
Looks bloody beautiful. Of course. Saville is a Design God.
The sleeves themselves for the LP and four 12” look really sharp and re done beautifully. Confusion sleeve more of a matt than the original gloss cover. Thieves sleeve looks brilliantly re done, really sharp . Nice inners too and extra U shape see through sleeve to go with the black inner for the LP vinyl. Like the Movement inner see through plastic that went with the Movement inner on the vinyl in that box.
Yep. It's a magnificent set.
I haven't unwrapped the singles yet, as I'm going to pop to town tomorrow and get some vinyl sleeves first.
Too many good things to list here. I need to fully consume the set first.
But, just a handful of things to mention:
The Haçienda footage looks wonderful;
Seeing 'Confusion' from 'Countdown' at last. Barney on bass. Hooky on guitar. Excellent;
Working my way through the 'Writing Sessions' as I type this. 5-8-6 is rough and exciting. Your Silent Face is absolutely BEAUTIFUL:
The 'Video 5-8-6' thing I mentioned earlier is a 10 minute long video. I think this is the unedited footage of the video that was shown at the opening of The Haçienda. It is longer than the edited version that appeared on 'A Factory Video'. It appears to be an Easter Egg and I can't see how to select it on the DVD menu. It plays after the final track of the Haçienda gig on DVD2.
Wow! There is so much here. It's as lovely a set as I've ever had the pleasure to own. Anyone who has not yet received it, you will not be disappointed. Anyone who has not ordered yet, treat yourself. It's totally worth it.
Just watching the Kilkenny video. So strange to see for the first time after only ever had the audio for years. Looked so cramped and the front row are going crazy. Was that Rob that appears in front row by the speakers to Hooky left for a few moments during Leave Me Alone ? Those glasses could only be him, surely.
