Have never seen them, or they are incredibly expensive to buy.

Nice, will have to add that to the things I need to look for, once i get up to those singles. I missed out on a lot of european singles, since I already had the US/UK and Canadian versions. So back then, i thought they were redundant.

The 3" CD of Round and round was worth it for a so-calledb12" mix that wasn't the 12" vinyl. In typical NO style, this gem was harder to find than the G-spot while crud like Jizzstream gets released again and again.

This German 3" does not have the 12" mix, if that's the post you're referring to. Only the Club and Detroit mixes. The other German 3" had the 12" mix.

Yep, the Twelve Inch Mix (as opposed to the 12" Version on the other single).
It was available on this promo single which had unique artwork.
Because the titles get so confusing I think we subtitled it the Ben Grosse mix for Recycle.
Just played it... it's the same "12" Remix" on the regular US maxi, right?

oh, ok, there was a mixup on that one, because it said 2 mixes on the sleeve, but there was a third on the disc.

The 2001 promo still intrigues me, since I've never got hold of the 12". How does the Pink Noise I've Taken Too Much Dub sound? It seems to be exclusive to this particular 12", being absent on the other ones?

Pretty unremarkable. Rich Morel doesn't even have a copy of it anymore.
Promo mixes can be regarded as thus: the fewer times it appears across formats, the less interesting it is.*
I'm sure Warners only stuck it out there because they'd paid for it.
* The exception being Martin Buttrich's 2005 remix of Everything's Gone Green. It's my favorite New Order remix ever, and criminal that it never saw a commercial release.

i have all of these, and digitized somewhere, maybe in a decade i'll be able to dig up the digital files, its actually easier for me to find the physical versions, since i'm clearing up and sorting out my collection.

The only mixes I haven't personally heard are:

Hmmm, I've got them listed as different on my spreadsheet, but can't remember where I got this information. Maybe they aren't and I just assumed they were several years ago.

I think the 'My Fear Of Dub Mix' mix is unique though, as the only one with a similar track time is the 'I've Taken Too Much Dub' mix, which are both on the same release, here:

You're right, it's probably the same tracks. But why one of them is called "video edit"? AFAIK, no video were made in 2001.
Yep - it's very perplexing. Maybe they were going to do a video, and just never got around to it.
I've never really been sure of the story for these remixes. Was there an intention for the band to properly release 'True Faith' again in 2001, and the idea got nixed (after the remixes had been commissioned)? If so, that could be the reason why a video edit was made, to promote the release on MTV / VH1 etc.
Anyway, I've struck those two off my list - I reckon they're bound to be the same as the standard two mixes.

It was done to raise their profile in the US, where their last official release had been The Best Of 6 years earlier. Get people dancing to them, thinking "oh hey, New Order" before rolling out the single for Crystal and the campaign for Get Ready.
I wouldn't be too bothered by the variations of names - they're just promo. Not intended for the public. Maybe the label thought they'd put together a video for it, but by that stage MTV had almost stopped playing videos and YouTube didn't exist. It would've ended up being one of those promo VHS mix tapes sent to clubs. It probably would've been re-edited footage from the original 1987 video, with bad early '00s effects added. Not worth the time or effort if DJs and record pools weren't jumping for the promo.
I never once heard it in a club. A friend who worked the counter at one of the local record stores saved their promo copy and gave it to me.
Don't forget, this is a business. They were on a major label. The band probably had very little input, apart from approving the mixes they liked. The label would've chosen the song, the remixers - pretty much everything. Most UK bands tend to shrug it off and let the Americans do whatever they think is best for the market over here.
