Have now got a payment declined on the BLT 12". The card is NOT maxed out, nowhere near and has NOT expired. Re ordered on a different card but now the delivery is 2nd December. If they try this payment declined crap one more time i"m just going to cancel the lot and seek elsewhere.

Grrr! What an absolute foul-up of the highest order. Wonder if other non-forumites are having similar issues.

My TBTHOG was delivered today. It should've been Friday, when I was at home, but got shifted to today. I therefore arranged my wife to be home. It was well-packed, so thankfully in good condition. As mentioned earlier, BLT is scheduled for tomorrow but, of course, no one will be in then (grr). SOTN has now shifted to, get this, anywhere between 09/12/24 and 04/01/25!

Box set is still showing as delivering on Friday, despite Amazon asking the courier to deliver it sooner.

The only good thing about this is that DigiMike's box has arrived from Amazon today and it looks like Amazon stocks do contain an 'obi' band. So, it's likely that others should have that, if anyone other than me cares for such frivolous stuff (unless of course, they are coming from different stocks in different warehouses).

Incidentally, I think DigiMike ordered his on Sunday.

I might have to reconsider paying for Prime when mine renews in April.

I went into Rough Trade East today on my lunch break and picked up the 12" singles for £16.99 each. No copies of the box-set on display, either on shelves or behind the counter.

Unsure I would've purchased in RTE anyway as it's a pricey place to buy stuff at the best of times. But I like to try and buy stuff in person if possible (a dying ritual) even if it means HMV or RTE.

Glad to read people are enjoying the live DVDs. I'm adopting "good things come to those who wait" on this one.

I had two copies arrive at 8pm(!). Probably only a matter of days until Amazon works out the first "lost" copy got delivered and ask me to send it back or charge me for it!

Hoping to find the time to get into the DVD content at the weekend.

It's crazy isn't it?

Despite me saying I had cancelled my Amazon order yesterday it is still showing as en route to the UK from Germany and hasn't been cancelled, so I will probably end up with 2 copies and have to send one back

I really don't feel bad about taking the mick with Amazon returns elsewhere when their service is this bad

I finally got my box today from Amazon UK.

Disappointed to see one of those irritating white European FSK stickers on the corner of the box! Totally spoiling the look of the beautiful box.

Has anyone successfully peeled this sticker? I really don't want to damage my new box.

OK Neworderonline you let me down...

...I posted the same query on the Steve Hoffman forum.

Within a few minutes someone on Steve Hoffman said it was ok to peel.

i first heard it on the australian limited 12 inch for true faith.. https://www.discogs.com/release/539369-New-Order-True-Faith-Remix

it really should have gotten more exposure, and really elevates the song..

Not to be a pedant - well, absolutely to be a pedant because "that's what we do here" - but I don't think the Paradise remix featured anywhere before now other than the original Australian True Faith 12" and Retro. Certainly can't recall it featuring on other deluxe releases. It's not a bad remix, adds something different to the song. The Retro mastering always sounded like it had been dubbed from a cassette and the Definitive version sounds a bit better, so... nice.

They were never going to please everyone but I wish they'd found space for the "complete" 8 minute Touched By The Hand Of Dub on the extras disc, the one from: https://www.discogs.com/release/886400-Various-Salvation-Original-Soundtrack with its 2 and a half minute unique intro before seguing into the standard 12" Dub. Also, there was that alternate take of the Salvation! Theme that made its way out on the "repaired" Collector's Edition disc of Low-life back in 2009 with different keyboards. I guess it can all be collated together for those who are fussed.

Mine’s still saying Friday, which I’m resigned to.

BLT arrived at the house late today, so thankfully my wife was home. No problem with this. Less packing than TBTHOG but still not damaged.

2 out of 4 received. Just hope the box arrives intact on Friday. I can wait for SOTN.

I was never big on "Broken Promise", but strangely, the instrumental elevates it for me. The Joy Divisiony bassline never bothered me, but the lyrics and vocal melody always made me think of it as a lesser cousin to "Sunrise". With those elements stripped away, I'm now able to appreciate the interplay between the instruments.

Inevitably, it leads me to sympathize even more with Hooky when he laments about the loss of this writing style.

Suspect mine will also come Friday - even though it still says Saturday. It departed the Amazon warehouse in Kent this morning at 6:50am

Latest update on mine.

Got a notification at about 3pm today that my box set was 'out for delivery'. Apparently it's due to be delivered 'by 10pm' today, which is one day earlier than Amazon have been saying all week.

Drilling down into the delivery updates and it left our sleepy little town's sorting office at 7:22am. So, unless the postie with my package is the only person delivering mail in our town today... and he's doing this on foot..., I think it's safe to say that it should've been here by now.

I've had similar incidents like this before with Royal Mail. Where they say they're going to deliver a day early and that it's 'out for delivery', only to have it show up the following day.

I'm not holding my breath, but will update here if it does show up.

Well, I take it back. Royal Mail did deliver. At 8:30pm. Crikey.

However:

No obi band and the box had a f**king German classification sticker on the box which, after peeling off, has left a mark.

Grrr.

FFS.

Probably why it’s taken so long. Amazon have sourced some of their copies from Europe.

Rubbish about the Obi and sticker. I'd say return it as damaged (and hope the replacement has an OBI) but by now you probably can't face doing that!

I had an Amazon parcel come via Royal Mail really late in the evening the other day - I guess they must be outsourcing some deliveries to them due to demand.

Mine is still not here, but has now left Redditch. When it arrives I will see if it has an OBI band, as I'm sending it back anyway as a duplicate. If it does, I'll keep the OBI and send it on to you

That would be great and I would certainly take you up on your kind offer. Many thanks.

I wonder though, as it’s come from Germany, whether it may well be the same as mine, i.e. no Obi.

Copy arrived. Packaged really well.Obi band included. No sticker on box. All good. Some really cracking photos in the book. The box itself is kind of ...silver? Almost identical in my room light to the Low Life box.

Edit: Actially it's more like Indigo

OK. Once all that Amazon crap is now out of the way (apart from not receiving my SOTN 12" yet), onto the fun stuff:

DVD1 Nice to have the Academy gig on DVD, plus some of the other stuff we had seen previously (True Faith on TOTP/The Roxy, Les Enfants du Rock etc.). As previously stated, shame that the daft edits and the visual effects of the Academy gig are still there, but I guess that, if the original footage isn't available, this is the best we can get. And I'm happy with that. Glad the interviews were tagged onto the end too. Would've been a shame to lose these and I never liked them inserted akwardingly into the middle of the gig.

Really good to have the extra bit of Broken Promise from The Tube included (i.e. after the credits ended), although eventually the video feed ends and the audio continues on its own. I'm guessing audio and video must've been recorded separately.

The Channel One, BBC Northern Ireland footage is great. For years, I knew about this and I managed to get an audio-only copy of these two tracks plus the Sumner/Caron Keating interview a few years back. Then, a year or so, I got the video too. So, I guess, this isn't 'new' to me, per se. However, this DVD copy is in great shape and has been separated from the interview (which played over the top of Ceremony in parts). Seeing the band up close and personal playing these two classic tracks is truly wonderful.

The '11PM' TV performance is really cool, if a little short. This was a revelation to me when it arrived on YouTube a few months back. I had literally no idea that the band ever performed live on Japanese TV. Seems JJ has had to splice with another version of (the BLT video, looks like).

My favourite bit on this disc though has to be the Japan footage. So good to see the band in such relaxed circumstances. Glad Stephen had the foresight to record this and I REALLY hope we get more of the same sort of thing for the Technique DVDs. There was that clip of the band in Ibiza shown on that Dave Haslam interview with Steve a few years back. Hopefully, Steve has much more that he can show us. An amazing snapshot in time. Great to see Rob, btw.

Thoroughly enjoyed DVD1. Will get around to DVD2 later tonight hopefully.

Just arrived - sadly no OBI strip, and boy what a story the shipping stickers tell

It was manufactured and packed in Germany on 20th September and then somehow ended up in Spain with Arvato Logistics in Madrid.

They shipped it to an Amazon warehouse in Illescas (which is between Toledo and Madrid - a distance of about 60km) on 14th November. It was one of a shipment of 148 copies.

It seems like it stayed there until 23rd November (the day AFTER release day)- where it was sent BACK to Germany, to the Amazon warehouse in Garbsen It didn't arrive there until the Tuesday morning 26th November, and left there again the same evening, arriving in Grace-Hollogne, Belgium the next day

By the evening it had made it to Rochester in Kent, where it spent a day before being sent to Redditch.

Was in Redditch overnight and then finally sent to my home town this morning. Finally arrived at my house at 7:30pm

Pick the logic out of all that!

Crikey! That's quite the journey. I'm guessing mine did something similar, but I've binned the packing labels now.

Shame there's no OBI. Ah well! If anyone has a spare, or doesn't care for them and feels like being extremely generous, please drop me a PM.

The Glastonbury 87 footage of TF and Sister Ray i really enjoyed and found intriguing. Also that San Giovanni footage of Dreams Never End, interspersed with poses to camera, as some of seen in BLT vid along with the gig footage, . Gillian looking so cool and lovely.

It's quite strange isn't it? Why there are those poses, I don't know. Also, considering the song is sung by Hooky, I don't think there's any shot of him actually singing it, is there?

Agreed on Gillian! Beautiful shots of her.

Agreed on Gillian! Beautiful shots of her.

Really liking the shots of Gillian in the various live stuff on the 2 DVDs and photos in the book. She had a certain lovely cool aura in that 86/87 era.

In that San Giovanni footage there seems to be more Italian coppers than audience ha! Was that clip shown on Italian tv back then and there was some pre or post gig poses to camera done as part of a promotional push of the band to Italian audiences?

My sticker came off in one piece - I had dreaded the sticker ripping the cardboard lid.

It did leave a feint gummy outline that was visible under bright light. Rubbing the outline with my thumb made it less visible.

This may already have been asked/answered but does footage exist for the whole gig? That was my first ever New Order live tape, when I recorded the Radio 1 'In Concert' and I played it to death and knew every Bernard adlib

It always annoyed me that the official release missed out tracks (Elegia, Ceremony, Subculture & Sunrise. The last one in particular was an epic live version) - oh for a Deluxe reissue of that whole gig

Yeah - this is what happened to mine. I was really careful, and it didn't tear, but it did leave a darkened bit on the box. Reasonably visible in normal light for me.

Annoying.

One other thing that is possibly different on mine to 'UK' editions is that the white certification logo on the above sticker is also printed on the two DVDs. I imagine that the UK ones have a '15' certification logo on them instead.

Not sure if official footage is present for the whole gig, but there is a bootleg video of the whole gig, shot house right/stage left.

I haven't compared the official video on the Brotherhood set to the bootleg, but it's possible that some of the 'bootleg' footage was used as one of the angles on the 'official' footage. I've noticed parts of the Brotherhood video (the stage left shots) looks like it was recorded within the crowd, as you can occasionally see the backs of people's heads.

I used what I could of the 16mm original footage, alongside the Steve Catterall handheld video (you'll notice his name in the credits).
