I did actually ask the YouTube guy where he got the effect-free, "dry" vocals from. He replied (after I had done my post #384 above): "I get sessions from industry people, publishers, and most recently from bands directly".

Sorry if this has been answered before but anyone know why Let's Go (with original vocals) wasn't included on the LL or BH Boxset since there seems to be a pretty decent version available?

Took me nearly a year, but I'm finally up to date with the definitive sets. Now start saving for the Technique box.

I've just had to download Opera browser in order to use the free VPN within. I didn't realise that the UK's new "anti-porn" laws would result in Imgur becoming unavailable to the UK (heaven forbid that I see the Brotherhood box set - it's got a sexy obi strip!), but apparently that's been the case since 30th of September. Ahh progress. Or something.

Anyway, nice pics Mr Disco! Perspex will be after that Obi strip!

TBTHOG was the one we needed, as the other remastered 12" single mixes all appear on 2023's Substance reissue, even if Bizarre Dub Triangle has a slight audio defect. There is always the 1994 US Maxi-Single to substitute for that (the "I Don't Care" Dub).

For the full TBTHOG 12" mix, if you don't have the original UK CD single, International is your next best bet. I don't know how many fans got that compilation back in the day as it recycled (no pun) a lot of stuff most of the hardcore already had. Clearly not aimed at us, but the mastering's okay.

For Touched By The Hand Of Dub it gets more complicated; both the 7" and 12" came out back in the day on the Japanese CD singles (slightly rare). To date, they remain the best places to find that elusive dub. I think the 12" also came out on a Canadian BM88 CD.

The 12" dub was most recently featured on an obscure 2015 Blank & Jones CD compilation, but you'd have to really like everything else on the release to justify purchase.

I'd have been really impressed if Warners had reissued a remastered TBTHOG digital single and included the even longer dub from the Salvation! soundtrack, but yeah, dream on.

Is the International TBTHOG better than the Collector's CD2 TBTHOG?

For TBTHOD, a few months ago, I used Audacity to upgrade the sound level. It's not great but better than nothing. I don't remember witch source I used, probably the Japanese CD.

Where is the slight defect on BDT (Substance 2023)?

Yes, I'd forgotten about the Brotherhood version! Either are good enough to my ears, tbh. The waveforms are very similar between the two of them.

The Japanese CD single is the best digital source, I believe. The one on the Canadian Blue Monday 88 EP is really quiet and a crap mastering. The B&J compilation verion is good but I've heard it's originally a vinyl transfer, albeit a pretty good one.

Around 6:27 to 6:31, you'll notice a slight drop off in treble. It goes a bit muddy. It's only noticeable on headphones and the rest of the mix is pretty much pristine. Could have been a defect in the tape transfer process, I guess. The version on the BLT 1994 CD does not feature the same drop out.
