She's Lost Control: quintessentially JD, what with the combined use of electronic & acoustic drums, a killer bass line, grrrreat guitar breaks and such poignant lyrics.
i had to go with LWTUA. it's a sentimental song for me.
...'tho atmosphere is a close second.
what is this suppose to mean except that this poll is for the best song that is voted by a majority?. My favorite Joy Division song isn't on there..i dont see the point of this...
whats it going to say after the poll's ended?.."officially the best Joy Division song, you must agree"..bollocks to that, im not voting.
call me commercial if you like...but its LWTUA without question...I do think Atmosphere is a beautiful song but its just sooooo intense. Shes Lost Control is also excellent...but LWTUA wins it hands down, if only for the title - which is one of my alltime fav lyrics.
LWTUA IMO the best song ever. If mankind could tap into all the raw energy there is in this song Saudi Arabia would have to export dates.

I think you're perhaps taking this a little too seriously. My favorite is on the list, but it's not winning. So what?
New Dawn Fades is my favourite JD song followed by Decades, The Eternal, Day of the Lords and Dead Souls.
Atmosphere. I've requested it for my funeral. It will still be brilliant in 40? years time. Was this track written before Chariots of fire as someone has pointed out to me a certain similarity? Who ripped off who?
"Love Will Tear Us Upart" is my favorite Joy Division. because it was the first song of them i had ever heard, it expreessd
hmm, well I have never liked atmosphere that much....good song, yes, their best....nah ah. not too many choices to choose from but two of my all time favs are up there: SLC and Transmission. SLC I think is near perfection. I love Transmission...good memories attached to it, fuckin GREAT to dance to, but SLC has everything.....synths, good rythym , classic Hooky bassline....and everytime I hear it it makes me think of the video right here on NOOL....which by the way, please bring those back soon!@!!! I wanna see Ian dance again!!! So SLC it is. It may not win, but its got my support.

My choice as well.
Hmmm, Well, I have to say that the list of options is pretty weak. It's mostly comprised of "hits", or at least the songs that most people who are not fans would know, which is a bit dissapointing. Out of the given titles, I have to go with NDF, but my real choice would have been heart and soul, or perhaps decades. Two of the most haunting and beautiful pieces of music ever recorded, period.
Again.. this "list" was the winners in the previous poll where all songs you are talking about were there..
They have been eliminated.
I understand the concept of songs having been " eliminated" and all that, whats dissapointing is that I figured the people who care enough to be involved with these forums would be less apt to eliminate all but the most well known, " radio friendly" songs from a band that goes WAY deeper than mass media popularity. My mistake.
Damn it! ALL of these songs are great!
But I have to admit it: LWTUA was the first JD song I fell in love with, and then the others followed suit. The newer version (in a different key) played live by NO on Jools Holland's show was BRILLIANT! Too bad the video archive is down! :(
since colony didn't make te cut, and i didn't think it would, i'd have to go with athmosphere
