Added two more Factory original albums to my list from earlier - on a related note, am I mistaken in thinking that there was a video CD released of Blue Monday on the original Factory label? If so, how limited was the pressing and if it wasn't a limited edition whats the value of this item? I was discussing this with a friend of mine who said a video version of this single was released but I'm not so sure if he was 100 per cent telling the truth...

Always thought they sucked on record, much prefer the live stuff.

Shit, it's taken me that long to get back to this thread I almost forgot you put in an updated list - by the way, where amongst that colossal list is your "wants" section? It's not made very clear here! ;)

you are not mistaken, no idea on quantity but there was a video cd of blue monday 88 cat no faccdv73 (i think) usually goes on e bay for well over £30.
Thanks for that information Dave - its much appreciated. So it's the truth then...I had a feeling it may be one of those rarities that only those with money to burn could ever be in with a chance of owning! I guess my search to aquire it could be a long one ;)

My wife suggested to me one day that I should try auctioning off all my Joy Division stuff - do you think she is stark raving mad for even suggesting this? Let me have your opinions mate! ;)

Fret not mate, it simply will not happen - after all, if she demands I do that I shall have to insist she likewise get rid of her entire Smiths collection - cos Morrissey is a bit of a misery guts, isn't he? Not a patch on Ian Curtis, it has to be said. Mind you, at least we both agree on the genius that is Ian McCulloch. :D :D :D

What's your favourite flavour love? Mine's strawberry..... ;)
Being a huge fan for the past 20 years I guess I too have amassed quite a lot of New Order/Joy Division stuff and memorabilia... I guess I started getting obsessive about them when I was in my early 20's having only just seen them in New York and getting hooked on this crazy gang of rude Britons who didn't give a shit about anything and hated doing interviews and press. I loved that sense of inscrutability and contempt for the music industry that the band harbored back then....

Hello Kathy. That's the biggest list I've seen a female NOonliner post up here to date. And that's just great to see cos I was beginning to wonder whether this collection lark was just an exclusively male pastime or something! Please somebody, tell me this isn't so! :D

Okay, here's the Joy Division list that i finally got round to putting together - again there may be some omissions as half of my stuff is back at my sister's in Buffalo...

But you miss the point of this - these covers represent every item that I myself possess - the discography section lists a definitve NO/JD output.... besides, I thought it would be rather novel - from a newcomers point of view - to display them all one after another in one thread - I take it no-one has done this before? Still you have to agree it looks rather nifty having them all up to view like this. I decided on this method cos everyone else here has just made lists - and lists do look the same after a while don't they? Wouldnt you agree?
Anyway, I've got the Joy Division gallery coming up next! :)

If I wanted to see all the sleeves again I would look at the discography or get all my records out. You aren't unique in having these !
I can't believe some people here are so pedantic - what is wrong with a bit of creativity. You may as well say that everyone else who has replied here is sad for listing every single item they have trainspotter style... We're all New Order fans at the end of the day and if some of us wish to show our appreciation in whatever way we wish then what is wrong with that?
There is nothing stopping those better in the know from not even bothering to view this thread, but please allow those who DO want to post here the freedom and liberty to do so...
:)
Thanks, Ewan
Some of us are using works computers etc, or laptops, to access the site. A huge array of colourful images not only threatens to drop us in the deep and smelly for accessing non-work sites, it also throws out the page size if you are on a laptop ! I refuse to use scrollbars on a train just to be able to access the "submit" button.

Ewan, I'm using this from work so this page loads in mere seconds, but think about users with normal dial-up connections. How long is your list gonna take to load at, say, 3kb/s?
Yes, it's a novel idea. But it's not really practical.
Okay Al and funny grinning face, sorry for slowing your comps up, point taken - perhaps I could just put up thumbnails for the JD part of the gallery then so they load quicker ? Please? :(
